Coming into the season they were 1 game under .500 all time as a franchise. So each of those times they hit .500 on the season they were just 1 win away from the franchise mark but failed to get there.

The Tigers were 16 below heading into June, and were just about to make up that whole deficit 2 weekends ago when they were 61-62 going into the White Sox series. If they had swept the White Sox, they would have taken the division lead. They were swept themselves, and have gone 2-10 since sniffing .500 for the first time since May 4.
It sort of feels like a Mario Kart race where you’re about to take over 1st place, and then someone hits you with a red turtle shell and you fall way back again.
