E-Rod’s final line against the Cubs: 7.0IP 2H 0R 3BB 9K
Season ERA is now 2.50, and he’s currently in line for the win.
1 egregiously missed balk.
that missed balk was something else, ump was staring right at it too
still can’t argue with 7 shutout innings though, he’s been dealing all year
Well, we can kind of argue with 7 shutout if he got a run wiped off the board lol
But yes he was excellent even with that.
Edit: A lot of people didn’t watch the game I guess lmao
Zack Wheeler crawled so that E-Rod could run
Two years ago we weren’t even sure he was real and now he’s our ace, crazy
2026 has been a dream year for him so far:
- shut down Team USA in the WBC championship game
- won the WBC with Venezuela
- earns his 1st career All-Star nod
- currently having his best season
And not to mention his D-Backs also climbing the ranks for a Wild Card spot.
shhhh don’t jinx it!
Incredible how he’s become the D-backs’ ace
“to hell with the statcast expected stats”
-2026 eduardo rodriguez, probably
E-Rod single-handedly giving the “ignore the spreadsheet nerds” guys a little ammunition.
Exhibit A why bRef is better than fRef for measuring pitchers actual value. Soft contact king this year. Who cares if it might not be sustainable and it’s not expected the results are the results.
Man, a little off topic but Idk why it can fuck with me sometimes but I feel like lately people get way too caught up in trying to predict what will happen next that we stop caring about the actual game or performance.
Even with awesome games/moments you’ll have someone jump in and tell you why it’s not sustainable. The crazy shit is what makes sports great, not predicting it.
Those stats should only be used when analyzing trade moves and potential prospects. The obsession with expected stats just drives me crazy.
It’s also fantasy and gambling related imo which I do btw.
But I and I imagine a lot of others wish that part didn’t become mainstream not only because it’s super dangerous if you can’t control it but it turns actual sport discussions into getting it right or wrong.
FIP isn’t an expected stat.
Dude is having himself a year. WBC title and he’s just carried it through
He may very well be the reason we make the playoffs if we do.
I loved this dude when he was with us. Happy to see him having a career year in AZ
Absolutely sauced our ass
I don’t understand how he’s this good
This guy isn’t PCA, mods please remove since I have no clue who the post is about
Yeah there was a missed balk, it was obvious. But the fault lies on the Cubs lineup either way. 0 for 5 with RISP isn’t gonna win any games period.
Unc still got it. He’s on pace to have his best season EVER by bWAR at age 33
This might be his best season yet.
And 0* balks
Imagine how many free drinks people buy him in Venezuela
+1 obviously missed balk and run
1 ER but assist to the least competent umpiring crew in MLB with the negative 1 ER
