In his mind, scorers are far too generous with the hits these days, and has even pontificated on air about how it’s an attempt by the league to juice batting averages.

I acknowledge he’s technically right but I don’t like when Dave Raymond calls a ground rule double a “book rule double” because it’s technically not a Ground Rule. I just don’t like the way it sounds, I can live with “automatic double.”

Steve Stone (White Sox) gets particularly annoyed when a runner slides into 1st base. I’m pretty sure it ruins his entire day.

You don’t see that much these days”

This probably applies to a lot of guys, but while Wayne Randazzo is great at play-by-play and is personable and funny, sometimes he’ll go on these little rants, like when not all MLB teams play on a big holiday, or starting pitchers getting pulled early.

And it just sticks out more because his partner Mark Gubicza never seems to get negative about anything, for better or worse.
