Yeah it’s fine but if parry was his favorite part out of everything in duelist then that’s not super hype for duelist in general

That’s crazy, I hated it. Huntress is also the most unfun class (while leveling) in my opinion because so many of her abilities feel like you need to set them up with slow or chunky things. The druid was one of my favorite classes even tho I don’t like the druid fantasy because most of his skills felt usable and good even without full commitment into them with gear and lots of passive points

Parrying is pretty much mandatory in order to have a good act 1 on Huntress, but after act 1 you ditch since your Cyclone is fully online.

It has always kind of been very good, it is just a foreign mechanic to the ARPG genre so a lot of people will have unpopular feelings towards it. Bottom line is you can choose to not parry and be fine as well but it does help close the gap between range and melee arctypes which is nice.

I doubt cyclone has a party mechanic. Not every huntress skill does

Yep. I was drawn to poe2 (after being entirely the wrong person for poe1) because I wanted slower less complicated gameplay.

On leaguestart i knew I wanted to play poison plant pathfinder but because i didn’t play since 0.1 i decided to just try machinegun bullshit and leveled phys-crossbow (well, kinda poison but poison is so bad while leveling if you don’t use “designated poison skills”).

It was actually really fun, the game felt more like Hades than any ARPG and I actually had to learn all the bosses. But thank god for (totally unskilled but still broken af) grenades that helped big time. Run and gun gameplay was vrry fun but holy fuck it’s weak.

I genuinely enjoy the multi-button combat PoE2 offers. I’m currently playing Disciple of Varashta in SSF and love casting those different spelld along with debuffs.

As it was said, its for tough rares and bosses.

And the bosses 1 shot you and you can parry and still get heavy stunned which maybe again get you killed. So Im not sure I would use it on an endgame boss personally

Parry is AoE. Rather than the effectiveness of the parry itself, I find the bigger issue is having to stop and wait to get hit. It’s shocking how often moron enemies will whiff it at point-blank range as well.

I’ve been playing parry builds since spear release and they are slower paced but they definitely destroy most of the content while being super safe idk why ppl never gave the mechanic a chance and are on such a wrong impression commenting like you everywhere

And don’t you dare move out of the incoming AoE attack from the caster pack, because then you’ll walk out of the mobs’ melee range so your parry does jack

Yeah this is just it for me as well. Why use a skill that you either have to time very well on an enemy attack or just stand there with parry up, you have to consciously stand in a way to parry it, with all its dangers of filling up your stunbar or mistake an unparryable ability for being parryable, or stand in other stuff. When you can just not facetank it, dodge the attacks like normal and use some other skill to do damage directly or just kill the monsters/boss outright. Which isn’t all that hard to do in PoE2 atm.

And I get that Oh but the payoff is so great, looks cool etc etc, but just doesn’t feel like flow of an aRPG for me. Not to mention all the clusterfuck that is visual clarity atm which doesn’t help with timing your stuff for parries imo. So unless it gives like 10x damage on an attack or something stupid, in my mind its just always better and safer to just use an attack/spell whenever instead of wait for mob to hit->parry+attack

Bleed spear is a decent B-tier build. Played it on Titan with Constricting Command in 0.3 and 0.5, did all content, but definitely not to the level meta builds do it. Didn’t use parry though: Spearfield for clear, Rake for tougher rares, Herald of Blood + poison thingy for more clear and, most importantly, better performance. Destroying corpses is fantastic for perf. 

There are ways to prevent that entirely. High dodge chance + some support gems and you will never be stunned regardless of what enemies throw at you.

Well, generally speaking, a lot of the combo abilities get skipped. The game is built for zooming. No matter how bad they want people to do their cool combos, players will skip it for more efficient clear if possible.

Basically verbatim what happened on huntress release. People used it for maybe 3 days then it was literally never used in any builds from there on. POE ninja has NO builds that use it BTW. Such a great mechanic

I must admit I did not check the setup, but even the mana was no problem. The issue I had was more like pressing and releasing the button and immediately pressing it again still had quite a long interruption of the channel and required repressing the button once more to start channeling.

(In my defense: I thought it was a time attack on the amount of bosses to kill like last year - but instead it was trying to get a custom random price drop ingame for one of the things which were on Gamescom last year.)

In poe2 the base is gladiator and no mention of duelist

They said before that gladiator would be the name of the base class in POE2 with duelist as rhe ascendancy, and then changed their mind mid-2024

At least for a while, gladiator was the internal name for the base class in PoE2. 

Getting 5k es on the bottom of the tree is gonna be expensive. Plus I imagine ES is gonna get gutted just like jewels
