James Harden turns 37 years old today.
Man that was a great clip
The fact that this was his 6th consecutive made 3 of a larger sequence never seems to come up when this is posted. People are probably confused why he did this.
Something seemed off for that reaction. Thanks for the context
I mean even without that context you look at the score, the announcer’s call, the teammates jumping off the bench, you could obviously tell he was hot
You’re saying that context doesn’t help? I mean sure you can tell something was going on. I’m not an idiot, just saying it was helpful.
I’m not saying it doesn’t help, I just don’t see why you’d consider his reaction “off” given everything else going on in the video
I thought it was massive overkill in a blowout game as well. The context makes it some better but it’s still a lot for the context of a lop sided win IMO
James Harden is my problem.
Harden has been Harden’s biggest problem, dude is a CHOKER.
The Russ Harden relationships so funny, it looks like they couldn’t exist together & but end together 3 times
One of his best clips, second to “someone call somebody!” After making Wesley Johnson dance
yeah 37 kinda sounds way older than it is
Harden is probably retiring after his current contract ends.
He’ll get 2 years 45 million from someone after this current contract no doubt about it
Bring him home.
should’ve been did that but instead kd has to play with no point guard and shitgun
FVV is coming back?
should’ve been did that instead of throwing away a year for no reason. and we’ll see if fred even moves the needle after an acl injury
Don’t forget a player option
If we need a handler we will take the beard and create an unction team
I’m not too sure, guy loves to ball
Maybe the most polarizing player to ever play?
People who think SGA hate is bad wouldn’t have survived 2018-19 Harden hate
SGA has no fans, Harden had a lot of hate but he had a lot of fans
SGA plays in shitty OKC and has no fans considering how good he is, Harden even now still has a lot of fanboys at least
I don’t know if you’re joking or not but Shai definitely has a lot of fans. He really appeals to the younger Gen Z ball fans
Relatively speaking no he doesn’t have a lot of fans, yes obviously an MVP will have fans but compared to other MVPs considering his style of play, market he plays in, him being canadian and OKC being hated he just does not have that many fans
Harden had way way more fans in his prime
Yeah I don’t disagree with that, just saying he does have a legit fanbase
Tbh it just seems that way bc he has an outsized amount of haters. He’s gone up against Jokic FC for MVP runs and knocked him out of the playoffs.
Having way more haters than you have fans is a big sign though, even others that had a lot of haters like LeBron in Miami who had the biggest hate ever they still had fans, even KD had way more fans
no SGA has a lot of fans, you must be old and out of touch
Relatively speaking not really. You go on GenZ social medias like TikTok and IG and see comments on his highlights, it’s basically all Free Throw Merchant comments. His fanbase is strictly Team Canada, OKC, and silent neutrals

I’m literally Gen Z bruh. I say this as a SGA defender, almost nobody likes him. Even if just for memes, he’s hated on endlessly and everywhere
I disagree that SGA has no fans but I do think Harden has a lot more fans than SGA, primarily because he’s a big deal in China.
Broccoli haired zoomers aren’t real fans.
Edit: Downvotes? Maybe a few zoomers actually learned to read. 😆
You do realize zoomers are almost 30 right?
I’m a SGA “fan” only because I think he’s overhated and it is funny watching people freak the fuck out when he does well lmao.
It cracks me up, because a ballenciaga wearing Canadian is not the type of person the average OK resident is going to say nice things about when the garage door is closed.
Classic Reddit moment
wel ya, harden is rly fkin funny and that makes it fun
SGA has only haters & OKC stans, no neutral fan likes his boring style of play.
Him & Westbrook
You could throw Durant in there as well. Wonder how perception would have changed if they had won that title together
I’m for one grateful it didn’t happen
I feel like when people talk about best team to not win a chip they’re a pretty slept on choice. They’re remembered more for not winning than they are for dominating in that season specifically
Yeah they absolutely tore through some stacked Western Conference teams on their way to the finals, and they were so young. Unfortunately though the heat figured out the Westbrook defense, ie double the shit out of harden at all times to get the ball out of his hands and into Westbrook’s, who proceeded to take more shots than KD on atrocious efficiency, as is tradition
People said the same thing about Westbrook last week
If youve ever heard the voice over meme of this you have truly lived 😂
Harden’s peak years were something to behold. Probably one of the greatest regular season career peak ever.

You guys are in a cult. He took the KD warriors to 7, then the next year he singlehandedly took them to six while averaging 35 with his second option being the corpse of cp3. Lebron was getting swept with a much better team.
Harden averaged 25 ppg or more in 15⁄15 playoff series in Houston.
Then in 2020 Harden was playing amazing in the playoffs, but no one remembers because the lakers pretty much triple teamed him any time he crossed half court and didn’t even pretend to guard Westbrook, who proceeded to take the most shots on the team on an absolutely horrific efficiency despite being left wide open, as is his nature. Seriously, what westbrook did to harden in the 2020 playoffs should be a war crime.
It’s a shame because harden was still getting better and better each year until the hamstring injury.
Harden is a phenomenal player who does not deserve the playoff hate that he gets. But we don’t need just make shit up to try and support that claim. The whole Rockets team showed up to make it a 7 game series. They won every game they held GSW to under 100 pts and lost every game GSW scored over 100.
LeBron averaged 34⁄8.5⁄10 on 62% TS Harden averaged 29⁄5.6⁄6 on 54% TS
Additionally, in order of total MP for their respective Warriors series.
Kevin Love, JR Smith, George Hill, Jeff Green, Tristan Thompson PJ Tucker, Trevor Ariza, Eric Gordon, Clint Capela, Chris Paul (missed two games)
For the Cavs Love/Thompson were the only two with a TS% over 50%. For the Rockets, Ariza was the only one under 50%.
I never said they didn’t? I said 2019 was the year where harden was basically doing it all by himself
Right, but you also said:
Lebron was getting swept with a much better team.
Lebron didn’t play the 2019 team. The 2019 Warriors lost to the Raptors. Lebron was swept in 2018.
You’re really reaching lol
Soooo lebron was getting swept with a much better team when Harden was taking them to 7, which is what I said. Obviously saying that doesn’t mean I think Harden was literally playing 1 v 5, and you know that.
Oh, I didn’t read your username when I initially responded.
What does that have to do with anything? Everything I said was just facts. Which is most likely why you’re trying to write it off because of my username.
It’s not bias when you’re right, no matter how many other people are wrong
Either you’re a Harden super fan or you don’t understand ball if you think that Cavs supporting cast was better than the Rockets (who only won games that series because of their defense). Either way, we aren’t going to ever agree on this topic.
LMAO his right hand got stepped on.
Lmfao 🤣
I fucking love how he’s so serious after doing snow angels.
Fade me
Snow angels Harden, best Harden
Watching it from the second angle you can really see how absurdly good his handles and footwork are
Probably retires after his current contract ends
This is cute. NBA players love having fun
I don’t know why I thought Harden was closer to my age than he actually is. Definitely one of the most unique or polarizing players in the NBA history too.
Why did he fall there?
1 of hardens best clip. The second one is with meta world peace
He just like me fr (vid not relevant)
He gets hate for not being Kobe but man is a legit top 5 SG. Can’t believe OKC recovered from fumbling him at a young age.
3-years, $97M
He’s getting closer to the point where he can start advertising for the AARP to show retirees how to fall properly without breaking your hip.
I remember when I was 37 and I would hear like a 29 or 30 year old say “bro I feel so old now” and I could not relate at all. I barely felt any aging.
Then the 40’s hit.
Bruh.
Where is he now? I like him but he’s always going to a different team!
Cleveland
Okay thanks. Maybe we play them? I’m I. spurs country
If you’re referring to the Tottenham Hotspur FC, then no. If you’re referring to the San Antonio Spurs, then yes.
🤣🤣. Spurs it is thank you
Definitely had a pregame meal.
Wow he is such a playoff shrinker
Top 5 all time player (no matter what the haters say)
When was Harden on the clippers? 😅
Completely washed and a liability, got a 3 years extension worth 100 million anyway. And some fools argue this is a good contract
Idk why but because of the way he moved i thought this was the wnba reddit
Right there is why I hated the Harden era. Harden one on ones it down, and hits a tough shot. Then, because another player is breathing near him and Harden rolls to the ground, gotta call a foul.
Just garbage basketball, wrapped around a really great shot.
The foul baiting was egregious, but this isn’t an example of one.
Look at his left foot when he lands. By the rulebook the offense is allowed landing space.
By the rule book sure. He exploited the rules better than anyone.
Has he ever missed time due to an ankle injury? Even though he somehow manages to land on guys’ feet in his landing space on like 80% of his shots?
Every defender does this, Harden just goes out of his way to land on their feet
I never could understand why playing the rulebook is considered as some sin.
What is a game, but a set of rules to follow? What is a ranking, but listing who does the arbitrary thing the rules decide are important best?
Harden manages to take advantage of the landing rules without getting injured. A rule created to make more movement in basketball by giving advantage to the offense. Which was a reaction to the boring ass game basketball became as defensive schemes are stiffling offenses more often.
Talent in sports at the end of the day is who has the physical traits to take advantage of the rules the best. Skill in sports is being able able to train oneself to take advantage of the rules the best.
“Every defender does this”
Defender just exists
In some ways, I wish ankle injuries from these kickouts were MORE common, so that offensive players were less incentivised to land on other peoples feet. That’s the exact opposite of the rules purpose.
look at his feet when he lands. it’s just safer to fall, rather than risking ankle injury.
yeah of course harden has his theatrics but in this case you’d want anyone to fall as well to prevent injury.
He low key buns ngl
If you show his defense against brunson as a follow up I swear!
i wonder what Steph got his oldest son
Bombs for Gaza lol that’s your goat?
Cavs fucked up
I feel like the predominant opinion I’ve seen from Cavs fans is that they don’t regret the Harden trade. They hadn’t been to the ECF with Donovan prior to that and they didn’t have faith in Garland to stay healthy / take them the distance.
Kind of a rock and hard place, most fans understood that the trade was for a multitude of reasons:
They don’t know if Garland was going to be healthy for playoffs
Trade market for small guards is just bad atm (look at Trae Young and JA Morant), so they didn’t think they could get a better trade
They’re in the second apron at the time of trading and needed to make ways to get underneath it (which they did with Harden opting out of the player option)
They straight up could not have gotten Watson if they still had Garland, the money wouldn’t have worked.
Literally had their best playoff result since LeBron was still in town. That’s with playing Harden extremely heavy minutes cause their offense collapsed anytime he was on the bench. Meanwhile, the guy he replaced is making more money while missing half the season due to injuries.
Correct. He’s still one of the most creative scorers we’ve ever seen. Rings don’t have to mean everything.
And what do you got, lil bro?
The pair of shoes with his name maybe?
Plenty of all-time great players don’t have rings because they happened to play during the same time as a dominant dynasty. Luck has more to do with championships than people like to admit.
