Louis Cha in one of his Wuxia novels features an invincible sword master. There are 3 stages for his swords: the sharpest sword in the world -> a heavy sword -> any piece of leaf, piece of grass.
Stage 2 is 重剑无锋，大巧不工 which means “A heavy sword needs no sharp edges, the true mastery looks effortless”.
I’m not sure if GGG refers to this legendary novel, but they definitely know their shit about swords.

I am wondering where this is. Are Trarthans active on Wraeclast, or do we go to Trarthus? Looking at that boss name specifically.
Based on Merc, poe1 mercenaries of Trarthus, and league of same name, they are travelling to Wraeclast sometimes. Maybe in hopes to be recruited by small nobles to do bad things to monsters in the surrounding areas and get paid. Most likely, it’s because Trarthus is a lot less monster infested and Wraeclast is a hunting ground.
Ezomyr, notably, is quite close to Trarthus.
Since Merc and Gladiator both hail from Trarthus, and probably house Azadi, the likely explanation is a mix of monster hunting and being a hired gun for the local lords.
Duelist is from Oriath, he was trapped there when it began 20 years ago as a child, at least going by the art book. They also changed his style of hair from the initial art. This is probably in the trailer when we are back in Oriath and we are probably going through the arena.
Hmmm, the original duelist was from Oriath, this one may or may not be the same, since they might have changed his origin. But your explanation would make more sense, as his vengeance quest for now isn’t explainable by Trarthan origins. I just assumed they’re going with both characters being Azadi mercs, and was mislead by the boss dude.
From what I have heard they have revealed his origin for POE 2, he is from Oriath, and fled during the fall 20 years ago.
The background, especially pic 3 kinda looks like oriath. That boss could be a hired merc.
He’s probably a gladiator on Oriath’s arena.

Actually can’t be equipped by default and can only be two-handed if giant’s blood is allocated. Downside is you gain no bonus from strength.
Perfectly balanced.
The much better question is if it can be skin-transferred, or if we can have a permanent skin transfer option at some point.

Having unrealistic elements at all does not automatically mean absolutely everything is fair game. The problem isn’t that it’s unrealistic, it’s that it feels out of place considering the general artstyle language of POE’s world.
