Duelist was always hot. Wasn’t his crime basically bedding everyone’s ladies in PoE1?
While he did do that, it wasn’t what he was exiled for. Dude was just an absolute cad. Some guy ‘dishonored’ him by insulting him publicly - so he just fuckin’ killed the guy for it. Apart from the Shadow, he is easily the most deserving of exile.
He’s on the same level as scion. The shadow is a killer for hire and the witch killed all the children in a village, they are by far the worst two. Everyone else the government just didnt like.
The Scion is implied to have been reacting to her husband trying to rape her. And while the Witch did kill more people, it was after they burned her place down. So a bit more provoked.
Also the other exiles, apart from the Templar, were violent too. The Ranger attacked the noble whose land she was poaching on, while the Marauder was a slave who fought to escape his captors (can’t really blame him for that, but he still wasn’t exactly non-violent). The Templar afaik wasn’t exiled for hurting anyone, though he was part of the system (tho he was exiled for questioning said system).

I saw someone state that the classes sharing the same starting locations on the passive tree are like, alternate lives of the same person, and not sure if that’s true since I never bothered to check a source for it, but I kinda like the idea that the wisecracking merc’s alternate is this seemingly vengeance driven no nonsense gladiator.
That was a thing many years ago, but was obviously never carried through to EA. Very early concept stuff.
Any nebulousness around it disappeared when we learned the Druid is nearly as old as Sin, making connection with a modern ex Oriathan Templar basically impossible.
That sounds made up. Like the Witch and the Sorc have different dialogues with NPCs showing they’re pretty different people.
