Also, they have been doing free weekend on league start (which is when most people play) since 0.3. The numbers aren’t even close to 0.1 (which wasn’t free)

We had free wings as twitch drop for content reveal a couple of time. Maybe 8 since ultimatum league
I’ve got two pairs of wings from Twitch drops, but they’re not available for use in POE2. I wonder if thats because they havent ported them yet, or that theyre exclusive to POE1.
Nothing that can be in PoE2 is exclusive to PoE1. This means skills that don’t exist in POE2 obviously won’t get skill effects, but anything else cosmetic that applies will be ported. Wings have no reason to not exist so they will be eventually.

I think they havent ported yet. I think I got some cloack, corsair back, and 2 wings from POE1 that are available, but still some are still disable

It is via email only and it is obviously so they can get as many people as possible. Any Tom, Dick, or Harry with an email can sign up and then consent to getting a big marketing email when the game is gonna launch.

Well, no need for the /s because this is a “dark pattern”, and so are the supporter packs and kirac’s pass. I don’t mind them when the game is actually excellent and fully playable with a minor investment.

they are doing it different, most likely due to marketing but they will email you the codes to reclaim the MTX on the 11th or there abouts…could also be about reducing the load on the site during the launch period because support will be getting pounded hard.
Kinda annoying don’t really want to be signed up for marketing spam when I already play the game.
Then register and put it on the spam list manually… just make sure to check for the code email around launch

You mean adding yourself to a mailing list for a game that already has your email?
Your email has already been sold if you ever used it for literally anything ever. So has most, if not all, information you’ve ever typed in.
Two things:
it’s a free to play game with almost 0 pay to win elements (stashes I’d say are mandatory)
it’s an easy way to get accrued interests and projected sales figures to show shareholders to get more investments into the game. This data would also probably be used for bolstering up their engine as well as server capacity for launch into free to play.
As far as I’m concerned, I didn’t have to agree to share my google info when registering, so it’s not like they’re scraping my data other than my email address.
You’re also not required to register if you don’t think the micro transactions are worth sharing your email.
If you’re so butt hurt about having to give an email, send in a fake one, as it you’d still be helping to get them pre launch data. They even emphasize one email per account for redeeming the rewards.
