LeBron James throws down the NASTY alleyoop off of a pass from Delonte West but unfortunately West was fouled so the dunk doesn’t count
First Cleveland stint LeBron’s bounce was different.
One of, if the not the greatest, athletes to ever grace the NBA.
He got overall better in Miami and beyond. But he was never like this physically ever again. Gaining all that weight in Miami to mix it up down low being the biggest factor.
I really took first Cavs LeBron for granted – dude was a demigod.
Wasn’t a great shooter but it didn’t even matter cause he was so fast, jumped higher than everyone else and was strong AF. Literally built different.
If he could shoot he would’ve won a ‘chip, probably mattered a little bit…
He wasn’t winning anything with that original Cleveland run roster. That he dragged the 07 squad to the finals remains one of his most amazing accomplishments.
2006 LeBron James was a 6’8” lab-grown demon on a basketball court. He was bigger, faster, and stronger than everyone on the court. He didn’t have a consistent jumper and yet he still dominated everyone on his way to the rim.
And he was 21 years old.
Not so much anymore, but second Cavs stint and beginning of the Lakers stint people talked about how LeBron hadn’t lost a step athletically, but it just wasn’t true. He was so fucking fast in his early days. His get off when the fast break would start was incredible.
People have talked about throwing him alley oops and it didn’t matter where it was. As long as it was around the rim somewhere, he was gonna get to it.
Like this bad alley oop pass he somehow managed to grab:

I love that you can see him try and reverse it there
UP UP AND AWAY 🚀
I am of the opinion that playing with Lebron messed with Matthew Dellavedovas ability to throw lobs because he got so used to just throwing it up and Lebron would get it.
Tristan Thompson isn’t going to be getting the ball from the top of the square, so why are you throwing it there Matthew?
I have never seen someone his height and weight just zoom past every other guard in transition. It was ridiculous. I can’t even properly comprehend how is body could move that fast. He’s still fast at age 41 but it’s a HUGE decline from this version of Bron
Young LeBron would have been a menace at WR for Ohio State. He’s more athletic Megatron while being bigger. It’s one of my favorite what if’s. What if he chooses football?
He did lose a step but went from 99.99999% to just 99% of the league
Yeah, he had such a lead from an athleticism standpoint point that him losing a step didn’t put him behind anyone. You put young LeBron in the league today, with this space and pace, my god.
You get prime Giannis with better passing with the biggest loss probably the Eurostep ability and maybe some pure strength. Interior defense would definitely be a downgrade but young bron was a decent defender
It’s weird to say it because he does currently play in the era, but LeBron came into the league in the wrong era.
It was so fun to watch. 0 analytics, he just did whatever he wanted
I saw him block a shot that I’m sure was a goaltend, but if you cover that much ground and jump that high then fuck it, clean block.
The turbo jets he would activate when chasing down someone from half court to block their layup from behind.
A lot of reverse dunks are merely the product of the dunker showing off. But here, Bron literally has to reverse it because the pass was so far behind him.
This might be a top 10-15 Bron dunk ever. It’s actually insane
I completely forgot about this dunk.
The offense is given every advantage these days, but I would love for this to be an and 1. If the ball is in the air on a lob, count the bucket. It would incentivize lobs and I think that would be cool and fun.
They have added the clear path and transition take foul to address this. At the time of the play, this was just smart from the defender.
Yep. I do like that rule in general. I’d still want the bucket to count.
Rule of cool it should’ve counted… there should be an advantage rule where you can decline the foul
Actually a declined penalty would be so interesting in basketball
LeVerse Uno Card
Been saying for a long time that the NBA needs an advantage rule. So many easy buckets get called back because the defense fouls.
It would also prevent some unnecessary stoppages.
Are people supposed to keep playing after a whistle lmao? This isn’t football where a flag goes on the field and can let the play continue, and even that sport has plays go completely dead on a whistle.
It would be like advantage in soccer. Ref raises his hand to signify advantage is being played, whistle is blown if team doesn’t take advantage or possession is lost within advantage.
Think the game is too high paced to have this work
The players would just keep playing until they hear a whistle, refs would just raise their hand when it happens and then blow the whistle when the play stops or the offense is no longer advantaged.
Yeah I just think you’re asking a lot for a referee to process instantly. Especially when it comes to whether a shot was taken with or without advantage. It’s more the game speed where soccer is a little slower.
I mean essentially it’s just calling a foul, waiting a second to see if the offensive player has the potential to make a scoring play, and then either blowing the whistle if he doesn’t or letting the game continue if the offense does score.
Do you not see what’s missed already in games?
Insane
OG father son duo
Bron learned from west that you could fuck your teammates mom. Did it to Bronny
Lol.
Nice pass to his son
Typical unguarded greatness.
