I’ve been saying for years that if Donovan Mitchell’s facial hair was a little different he’d be the most attractive player in the league. Harden DQs the cavs from this competition (my wife refers to him as “that guy with the stupid face”),but Mitchell could carry them pretty high if he didn’t have chops.

Also I was at a Disney hotel last winter and saw maybe a 9 year old kid with a Johnny Furphy jersey-tee. Truly a lasting memory of the trip for me.

I that I think Boston could have a rough season if JT misses some time, and unfortunately I think he definitely could miss time based on his exit from the playoffs last year. Not hoping for it obviously, but it’s not guaranteed at all he plays 60+ games for them and their team is a little dire without him.

The hornets are my 6th seed. I think they shock the league this year and make the playoffs outright. Trading Melo for Reid and white imo is a massive upgrade to the overall team even if Melo is a more talented player than either guy.

Genuinely don’t get the Franz agenda on this sub, he’s not staying healthy, his stats are worse across the board, and when Paolo was leading the team last season they almost knocked off the first-seeded Pistons. I guess it depends on what you mean by “dangerous.” I feel like most people have them hovering around the 6 seed in the East. Does dangerous mean they could finish top 3? Or that they can make the ECF? I’d say them getting out of the first round is closer to ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ than most people think using OP’s question.

I was gonna say this tbh. I know it seems far fetched, because it is. But Randle raises the floor, MPJ can score, young guys improve. Add in teams will still tank to get into the lottery.

As much as i want to say it could happen, I just don’t see it.

Knicks, Boston, 76ers, Cavs, Pistons. I really doubt anyone is predicting Brooklyn to be better than these teams, even if some bad luck hits the team(Cade being out all year would knock Detroit most likely).

Atlanta, Orlando, Raptors, Pacers, Heat. These are all the teams that should be better but I could see playing worse than expected.

Hornets, Bulls, Bucks, Wizards and Nets. These seem to be the odd teams out.

Hornets were fire last year, i don’t know if Lamelo was the key to that or not but Naz will be good for them.

Bulls will have multiple guys I still have stock in; Giddey, Matas, Wilson. I could see them playing bad, but Chicago doesn’t like bottoming out.

Bucks have a bunch of pieces and no first round picks still. They’re gonna be looking to turn Herro, Turner, Lavert, Kuz, Rollins into something. Realistically, they’re gonna play hard until the trade deadline is my guess.

Wizards have Trae and AD and AJ. Could they underperform, yes! The team is clunky and not built particularly well.

Then it’s the Nets. For them to be a playin team theyd need to be better than 5 of those other teams and I just don’t see it. Unless Egor is significantly better than I’m thinking. Randle isn’t much of a floor raiser in my opinion. They’re the 13-15 seed i think, but I’ll gladly be wrong.

Sure you stagger minutes when you have multiple people who can create for themselves - so LeBron/Brown/Embiid/Maxey will all feast on 2nd units. That said you still start him. Lets say you want to give him 20 minutes per game if you start him you have give him ~15 minutes rest between stints (plays 5, off for 14, plays 5, halftime and then the same in 2nd half). If you start him of the bench you will have to give him 1 long stint.

I have hope for the first but not the 2nd. As good as Kon is, and as deeply flawed as Lamelo is, the partnership resulted in a ton of easy looks for an elite shooter. I don’t think Kon can replicate that next year.

it’s definitely tradeable, you just need to attach enough picks. Teams that are starting the tank (Chicago, Bucks, Kings…) should very well consider taking him on, in exchange for some juicy picks and to drop their largest and oldest salaries.

If you’re the Kings: what difference does it make to have Sabonis or Embiid on your roster? You’re not going anywhere anyway with the current iteration of the team. Same for the Bucks with Turner and Kuzma.

Duren would essentially have a NTC if he takes the QO, but if he plays like he did last season i doubt detroit would consider moving him.
