Max Strus said that Butler would treat him like his best friend one day, completely ignore him the next, and then act like they were best friends again another day.
This is lighthearted but clips like this remind me of how teammates used to talk about Kobe and act as if his behavior was normal
Being around those guys must be like walking on eggshells.
They didn’t talk like it was normal tbh, they talked like yeah we tolerated it because he was good but they knew he was an asshole who got away with it because he was Kobe
Eh he was trying to be like Jordan when Scottie gets injured
This is such a lame excuse lol
Except Kobe was already Scottie and Shaq was MJ
Different sport, but I’ve played with guys like that growing up. They suck. They almost always worsen the vibe of the locker room.
The ones who were actually good and help the team win would be tolerated, but the ones who were both assholes and mid never lasted very long.
One of the worst type of guys you can have in your team is a guy who is your best player but also feels like he deserves to be king because of that
Just life in general not even in sports - just being alive and the surviving day to day is so hectic and unpredictable, the best thing you can be to other people is consistent
The ones I knew like that peaked early like 9-10th grade when people are still growing. By the time they were finishing high school the only people they were able to win against was anyone younger with little to no experience to keep that image of being good. The rest of the team would be miles ahead in skill. Not like an Allen iverson situation either just never improved because they were “so good” before.
Yea, Jimmy is like semi getting a pass here because he was an allstar level player. Kobe was a legend so they actually branded it “Mamba Mentality” and said you were soft if you had a problem with it. If Jimmy was a generational talent, he wouldn’t just be getting a pass, he would be getting celebrated for it.
Jimmy was more than an allstar. If anything he was a Brunson level guy that didnt get over the hump, but he lead worse teams.
Peak Jimmy was better than Brunson, significantly so. He was able to defend Lebron and then score 40 on the other end.
Except the main difference is Jimmy Butler is not good enough to be acting like that to be real.
No amount of talent justifies it, we shouldn’t defend asshole behavior
Bbbut..my mamba mentality…
MJ got a pass for this
Idk if I agree with that. Jimmy is known for coasting through the regular season. Very frustrating to have him as your guy. During the playoffs he decides to dial it up to 11 and become Michael Jordan for a month lol.
Part of me always wondered if it was because he’s lazy or crazy, or if it’s because he knows he won’t be healthy come post season due to the way he plays. Such a large part of his game is drawing fouls and getting to the line.
I see what you’re saying, but I just wonder how good he could be if he wasn’t so mid on purpose during reg season.
He’s made all NBA 2nd team once, no first teams, yet people talk like he’s a great
Because on impact metrics and advanced stats he is legitimately elite. He just doesn’t get a lot of counting stats which is what all nba teams are usually based on
And with how different the regular season and post season have become in the NBA, people are starting to value guys who perform in the playoffs more than guys who perform in the regular season.
Like regular season, career accolades wise James Harden crushes Kawhi but if the question is who at their peak was better and gave you a better shot at actually winning a ring? It’s Kawhi 10 times out of 10.
Sure Jimmy isn’t going to win an MVP like Westbrook but Westbrook also isn’t going to lead a team to the finals like Jimmy did.
People talk about him like he’s a great because of his 2 finals runs, obviously. To say he carried those 2 teams would be an understatement. He DRAGGED them in a way that no other star has taken his team to the finals in the past 25 years (other than maybe LeBron). No one expecteded those heat teams to climb to those heights, and if it wasn’t for Butler’s heroics, they would not have come close.
It’s always going to be impossible to justify his antics to me though, especially when you have stars like Curry that have climbed the mountain top repeatedly with leadership consisting of hard work and compassion, not “mamba mentality”.
The heat had the 4th highest odds to make the finals in 2020
The heat had the 5th highest odds to make the finals in 2023.
It’s not like he dragged a group of bums there.
This is a big conclusion to make, because the odds are based on Jimmy Butler.
So much revisionist history in this thread. People really acting like the heat weren’t underdogs in EVERY SINGLE full series in 2023 lol
I’m not saying Jimmy wasn’t clearly the team’s MVP, but this was not a squad of bums whatsoever, and to compare this run to most of LeBron’s carry jobs is absolutely overstating it
I non ironically think Lebron changed the game on the regular season coasting thing
I’m certain people did before, but how high profile some of those late Cavs seasons of coasting to turning it up in the playoffs shined a big light on the fact it was a viable style if you’re a big enough high performing star for your team
Wasn’t he like the 4th seed the LeBronto year for example lol
Yes. Against the East teams of the time he didn’t feel like he needed home court.
Which was accurate.
Well Bron had to play 82 games that year. I don’t know if he was coasting cause he just didn’t want to turn it on in the regular season or more like he needed to cause he was playing every game that season lol
Here’s the thing though. Everybody always says he steps it up into the playoffs and that’s not even really true. He just gets more minutes and more shot attempts. He doesn’t actually change his play that much.
That’s true for the bubble run, but the 2022 and 2023 runs were different, as he more than doubles his 3pt rate once the playoffs starts in both cases, as well as increasing his 3pt percentage from 24% to 35% in the playoffs.
And his per 36 numbers are different between regular season and playoffs as well which show its not just more minutes and more shots.
Plus there’s the eye test. Playoff Jimmy is absolutely a real thing. Or, was a real thing. Doubt he’s got that level in him anymore
People saying Jimmy doesn’t step it up in the playoffs is absolutely trying to rewrite history now that he’s been injured and out for a while. Dude had the most 40 point playoff games during his heat run tied only with Luka.
People also forget his awful lows because he’s had some great highs in the playoffs
He got outscored by Bryn Forbes in first round series getting swept after making the finals, averaged 14 points on 29% shooting
Everyone gives that one a pass because the Heat were the only even semi finals team from the bubble to even get TO the first round. Everyone was on dead legs from only a month off by that point. Whole team was dead from essentially a full calendar year of basketball
Honestly I feel like he coasts in the regular season because he doesn’t care about it, but if someone asks him he’ll probably say he’s a hardcore guy and doesn’t want to get injured on like a Thursday night in Memphis or whatever (but in professional terms).
I don’t like that mindset, but after seeing guys like D Rose go 100% every night, the wear and tear on your body, I understand Jimmy not caring until playoffs.
He was good enough to reach the finals twice with not much help.
Not much help? He had the second best scorer in the history of the game on his team
my fault i’ll respect bam 😔🙏
I think Jimmy is a great player, but Spoelstra managed to conjure some voodoo magic out of that 2023 team. On paper they may have not been much but a lot of those guys played fantastic on that run. I think the 2020 team is kind of underrated honestly, though it’s still pretty impressive they made the Finals given the competition.
Same goes for those stories about Shaq. “I love Shaq, but…”
Butt could also work, but you know.
I love Shaq, but….He shit in my shoe, he put my toothbrush in his ass, he dumped a wet bag of trash on me, he put my mouthpiece in his jock strap and didnt tell me.
Just fucking love Shaq!
Whatever it was I was looking at or reading it involved the Shaq and Kobe dynasty, and I was thinking “ in hindsight it’s really not surprising these guys didn’t work out” and knowing what we know about them it’s really a miracle they kept it together for 3. I couldn’t think of worse pairing of personalities to put together to lead my team. You have someone like Kobe who’s a egotiatical hard ass, and then hearing all the trifling things Shaq has done inside of a locker room.
Can thank Phil for keeping it together as long as they did
Phil is a genius. He convinced some huge egos and personalities to travel with him to a fantasy land where they can actually get along and be an amazing basketball team.
Being Kobe’s teammate had to have been hell. Same if you were a young girl working at a hotel.
Kobe starts being an asshole to you.
Shaq starts getting poop on your stuff.
Fuck I’d hate to be there during that era.
“It is easy to say the wrong thing.” If this phrase pertains to someone, that’s not a person you want to associate with.
There’s only one Kobe, but because of Kobe there’s an asshole on every team wanting to be him
Because of MJ… MJ was an asshole as well, its not because of Kobe.
except Kobe made his teammates win rings
Yep, sounds like something Mr. Buckets would do.
Fun and quirky when the team is winning - depressing and miserable when the team sucks.
Oh really I never noticed (ignore flair) 😅
Rachel Nichols.
spits on ground
Sorry, missed what you’d said
Amongst present company, it’s actually pronounced:
“RACH-ELLL NICH-OLSSS”👏 👏 👏👏👏
Then repeated for effect.
Call her, Jimmy! 🤙🤪
Just like me fr fr
ya, although, idk if it’s even that easy
can still be a dick when winning
I think that’s just high intensity & extremely charismatic people in general. Not all, but a large percentage.
Internet edgelords should check again the definition of “charisma”.
Being charismatic is literally about reading the room and making sure everyone is confortable at all times. Make people feel that you get them so they get behind you.
Now I know that internet teenage alphamale wannabes think that charisma is acting like you’re better than everyone else and ignoring other people thinking it makes you look cool. But no it only makes you look like what you are : a socially awkward weirdo.
Being arrogant and intense is driving people away. Charismatic people are modest and relaxed. The dark-sasuke act only works in anime buddy.
Nah, mamba mentality fam. You wouldn’t get it. You get to be a dick to everyone and call yourself “intense”
Sure, them and alcoholics
I had a boss like that, shit was the most mentally taxing year of my life. Couldn’t take it any longer than that lol
I’m recently out of a moderately high paying position with a crazy boss… except his mood was minute to minute. Happy I’m out of that toxic environment as well!
Man I hate that shit so much. Every time they come around you have to hold your breathe until you see what mood they’re in
Took a 30k+ year pay cut to get away from this shit. Best decision of my life!
Happy for you! It’s a such a tough choice but more often than not worth it.
I’ve found out that a lot of mood swings in high paying management positions are due to coke.
Yeah thats why i switched to Dr Pepper
If you don’t mind me asking, what ballpark of pay were you at previously and now?
About 15k less per year now all things considered… the feeling of dread is gone though and that’s priceless
Got a coworker like that and it’s draining af frfr
I had a boss like this too until I started telling myself that he just has dogshit social skills and I would tell people at work. “Oh xyz didn’t say hi to you either? Yeah he’s awkward and has no social skills”.
I have a father like that
Jimmy going to be jimmy is just cope for “he’s an asshole and isn’t going to change”
MJ’s son confirmed
Ah I miss the heat sub himmy days. Thanks for the reminder
I miss those pink/blue alt jerseys.
This isn’t just normal asshole behavior. This is narcissistic behavior that you may see in megalomaniacs or even people with borderline personality disorders.
show us your psychology degree 😂
I actually got various degrees from browsing medical subreddits, thank you very much.
Wow wemby u really do like to read
That’s not Wemby silly it’s his mother
I’m a psychologist (not clinical) and he’s not far off but diagnosing or sispecting a diagnosis from snippets of behaviour of celebrities is never wise. We only ever see the top/bottom 10% (e.g. worst or best aspects of someone’s behaviour)
Jesus? When did u become a psychologist?
Fair but it’s not exactly a hot take
Why do redditors love to psychoanalyze everyone, especially a 1 minute clip of a story about someone
dawg how are you psychoanalyzing a third persons story about someone else 😂
Did you listen to the clip? It seems like a pretty mild comment by Strus. Megalomaniac? A bit much.
That’s a huge stretch. It is most certainly a sigh of some sort of mental health issue, but jumping to the worst case is where you lose me. This could easily be just be a stress response where he needs to zone everyone out. It’s really common with ADHD, PTSD, high anxiety, and even types of depression.
Sounds like BPD
My first thought too lol
Mine too. I know those symptoms all too well 🙃
I never considered Jimmy having a mental illness never mind BPD and honestly feel like it checks out. I love diagnosing people I don’t know with illnesses I learned about on YouTube.
I’m sorry for personally offending you. I hope you can recover from this
Im sorry it seemed that way but I genuinely agree that he may have BPD. I was just making a side comment because it’s like wtf do I know about BPD or jimmy butler besides the limited shit online that I see lol. But from the limited shit I know, yeah I think he could have BPD because he is chaotic asf
My bad, felt like you were trying to be snarky. I think anybody who has experienced someone with BPD can see the similarities with Jimmy and all the stories about him. So many people with BPD end up being treated just like Strus said, “oh that’s just them being them”
And also, no one in this thread is claiming definitively that he has BPD, they’re just saying the traits that he is showing are similar to traits they have seen in actual BPD people. (I know you probably know this just adding on)
He was being snarky, but towards himself apparently.
Jimmy has been very open about his mental health lol
Bro, somebody being open about struggling with low points does not mean we have any insight into diagnosing them
Like we can’t just diagnose kevin love with major depressive disorder just because he was open about struggling with depression
People often choose to be vulnerable about relatively harmless or surface-level stuff for practical gains, which in his case could be having people on his side during a public falling out
Yea this sounds like my dad who is diagnosed with BPD. Growing up in that household was hell not knowing what was going to trigger him
Maybe, but we dont know enough. I say this as a professional who is trained in DBT and works with individuals diagnosed with BPD and their families.
Being a dick does not mean BPD. BPD is a complex metal health condition that is incredibly nuanced. Behavioural issues do not equate to BPD. Interpersonal challenges do not equate to BPD. Its a feature of the disorder but its also a feature of so many others so its not enough to diagnose.
It could just as well be clinical GAD, and fear of not doing well that comes out in being distant, withdrawn, spikey. People with severe anxiety can also really struggle in relationships. Esp the internalizers bc they tend to not be open about their anxiety and will mask. And yes sometimes that masking can look like behaving like a anti-social dickhead.
Armchair diagnosing is not helpful and generally speaking tends to lead to misinformation and stigma. Even as a fully trained professional, I cannot diagnosis someone without a detailed assessment.
Honest question, not trying to be a dick. Is there any benefit in properly diagnosing people with this stuff? It seems like the answer is always therapy and/or medications, which vary greatly based on the individual regardless of their diagnosis.
Really good question, not a dick question at all! Quick answer: it depends lol. Long answer, see below.
For example, where I live and work in Ontario, Canada, ASD services aren’t covered by OHIP (provincial health coverage). For kids and youth to access funding and resources, they require a formal diagnosis so in that case worth it.
Now if an adult suspects they have ASD, there is no public funding for adult ASD services, those are paid out of pocket, so it doesn’t require diagnosis. Occupational therapists and other private practitioners can work directly on goals with folks who have undiagnosed ASD. Another example where diagnosis isn’t necessary: I have undiagnosed ADHD, however I dont personally want to go on medication because I am able to manage through therapy and the coping skills ive developed.
That said, if symptoms are impeding someone’s ability to work and they need disability benefits or formal workplace/academic accommodations, an official diagnosis becomes necessary. For some it simply that they find getting the diagnosis validating and help them to reframe their behaviour and better understand why they struggle in the way they do.
Some MH does require diagnosis and medication e.g bipolar disorder or schizophrenia because the medical treatment is much more critical with these diagnoses and primary aspect of treatment.
All that to say… it depends lol! Mental health care is complex, and there is no one size fits all approach. While there are standard guidelines for care, it takes clinical skill to figure out what a specific individual actually needs. Therapy can look completely different from one person to the next, even if they share the exact same label. At times the diagnosis is helpful, other times its not necessary
I had a supervisor explain really well: diagnosis treats the system (insurance, accommodations, meds), while therapy treats the person and their functioning.
there is no public funding for adult ASD services
Sidebar, but as a resident of Ontario who volunteers with adults with autism and also has close family members with varying degrees of autism, there is FUCK ALL for adults with autism. It’s so depressing. Once you age out of the school system society basically wants nothing to do with you. No one talks about it either. Also ODSP is an absolute joke.
/end rant
NPD
BPD splitting is the most exhausting shit to deal with. You never know when you’re randomly public enemy #1 because of something you didn’t even know you did wrong.
Bpd they flip on you right then and there in front of your face instead of the next day ime
What an internet comment. Here’s a 30 sec clip that’s enough to say someone has bipolar disorder. Think for half a second before you comment
BPD isn’t bipolar disorder but I get your point 💀
or the plot of the movie “The Prestige”.
As someone who has severe mental health issues, this would not surprise me.
And I have suspected it myself about him. This is probably why I have such a soft spot for Jimmy 😂
Jimmy had a very rough childhood which can lead to conditions like this. I will always appreciate Jimmy even though he has eliminated the Celtics twice.
His highs are so fun to watch and his raw passion in the playoffs. Basketball is better for having Jimmy Butler
Essentially yeah.
YES I was typing this exact same thing before doing a search…I know a few living with it and they all have this drastic hot/cold switch, very often followed by burning bridges
Jimmy is a douche
Pretty much known at this point
Yea. I know a model from Vegas who was in the same elevator as Jimmy when he was on Team USA (this was like a decade ago). Gorgeous girl & she says their convo was going great….until he asked did she know who he was. She said “I’m sorry, I don’t” then he just stopped talking; straight up ignored her til he got off.
The story always cracked me up b/c this is pre-Heat days so I’m tryna figure out why Jimmy the Bull thought he was a household name, but whatever.
Jimmy the Bull sounds like a local tough in a western movie :P
Or a pornstar name
I’ve known people like this in my life before, they’re incredibly exhausting people to be around. You do reach a point where you just don’t really care anymore and you decide you’re just not going to engage with them and then one day they blow up at you and act like you’ve somehow betrayed them. Having to work with someone like that probably sucks a lot and definitely tracks with Jimmy’s history of burning every relationship he has on almost every team he’s apart of.
Reading a lot of the comments. I realized I was this person in my 20s and early 30s. It took a lot of growing up and soul searching to finally break this habit. The reason why I was so corky and odd. Was due to an abusive upbringing. That type of experience will mess with your pysche and chemistry.
Now, I’m on the receiving end of it. I’m just telling myself. “Damn, that’s how it feels” haha
Can you please I guess explain the thought process or like what is happening? Like you weren’t aware how weird you were being or just didn’t care or what
The other poster summed it up best. Psychologist call it “emotional dysregulation”. Imagine a toddler not knowing how to regulate their emotions but in adult form. Looking back is embarrassing recounting my experience.
Honestly, it was a combination of being unaware and didn’t care. Me aging and my biology slowing down. Has helped dramatically for me.
Maybe he has a low social battery.
I think im like this with my coworkers. I can talk and joke around with them one day and the next I just try to keep to myself and don’t really try to engage with them.
Yep. People trying to make this into a giant indictment on Jimmy but I’m like this all the time. I went from a decade in the service industry to working in an office. I don’t want to talk to you. If I still wanted to talk to people about their problems all day I would go back to bartending or managing an Applebee’s.
Especially in a profession where you are with people all day, not sitting in cubicles and occasionally socializing. Frankly I am amazed every pro sports team all the players dont hate each other by the end of the season.
Absolutely. People are draining…
Low social battery is different than completely icing someone. You can say hey whats up at practice without pretending you don’t know the teammate you just got dinner with lmao
Based on the light-hearted tone I believe Max Strus is being hyperbolic
[removed]
Jimmy has only ever cared about getting his lol
Jimmy had an ACTUALLY rough childhood.
I’ve grew up similarly, I’m really rough to be friends with sometimes. I don’t understand people WANTING to be around me.
And this is after a decade of working professionally in harm reduction and homeless services and two decades of therapy. I run hot and cold with almost everyone. I have days where all of a sudden I have zero social bandwidth and come off incredibly rude, and other days where I will remember every single niche interest every one of my coworkers have.
It’s ass. Trauma is zero fun. Do not recommend. Zero stars.
I think people would probably not have confronted me in the ways they did if I was a multi millionaire who could change their life. And I would imagine the wealth adds another layer of distrust.
He can thankfully afford whatever he needs to be less of a dick. But just saying I relate.
Everyone in here diagnosing and projecting, took me forever to scroll and find someone who is willing to acknowledge and frame Jimmy’s behavior in the proper context, which means acknowledging the insanely toxic environment he was raised in. Empathy goes a long way people.
Ppl don’t like empathy they like being right and/or being accepted by the group think. I had a rough childhood and unnecessarily so in my belief but it happens I run hot and cold. Sometimes it’s about something that happened or sometimes it’s something that the person in this case “Strus” or something someone in close proximity did or said. It may not be worth confronting because I myself have gotten out of the business of trying to change people. Live and let live. I know for me I work hard and take pride in my work everyday. Others don’t see it that way and believe it’s not worth it because of the pay. I understand that perspective but I’ve never been that person I can’t be it’s not in my nature. So I can be seen as a person unpleasant to be around at times. But people who actually spend time around and hang know it’s not the case.. but again I’m not in the business of trying change people anymore . LIVE AND LET LIVE
And people can be exhausting we all know this
Great point. Just as likely as Jimmy having BPD or being a narcissist like other commenters are suggesting, it could be that he is insecure about showing too much affection or is in his head about something else and isn’t aware of how it comes across.
Once an asshole always an asshole
Everyone knew he was an asshole before he even came to Miami. That being said, dude seemed to have a rough and confusing childhood/adolescence, and being an “asshole” now is probably just symptomatic of deeper abandonment issues or other traumas that most people wouldn’t get resolved without years of therapy like CBT or whatever. Doesn’t change the fact he carried the Heat to 3 ECFs and 2 Finals in 5 years.
Right? His mom kicked him out of the house at like 13 for looking like his dad… so sad.
Such a common theme with these elite NBA players. You don’t appreciate the “yes man” phenomenon until you are around one of these guys. You literally have to agree with everything for self preservation. One moment you are all laughing and having a good time and the next moment they want to destroy your life because you laughed at the wrong joke.
Walking on eggshells would be an understatement
Did you watch the clip? That’s literally the opposite of what max said. He realized Jimmy is just a moody dude and to leave him be when he’s in a mood. Jimmy wasnt looking to be agreed with or made happy all the time, rather it seems like there were days he just wanted to be left alone and when Max realized that their relationship got better
He was probably jealous of Strus hair
“That’s a pretty man” -Charles Barkley.
I think Jimmy just has some mental shit, he had a really rough upbringing and he has had to work extremely hard to be in the position he is in now.
From homeless to JUCO to Marquette to just barely getting picked in the first round to a Hall of Fame career. He’s in interesting character.
That just sounds exhausting
I feel like you always have people defending a lack of decency so let’s see what happens here.
Butler seems like an asshole, but this isn’t the worst thing. You’re not gonna be in the same mood every day, it’d be different if he was treating him like shit, but sometimes you do just ignore everyone around you, not that special.
Doesn’t have to be the worst thing, really. No one should treat people like that. You don’t have to be in the mood but courtesy should be basic
Right? If I knew that my mood was consistently causing others to wonder if they did something wrong I would feel like such a piece of shit
99% of the time someone uses a variation of “that’s just Jimmy being Jimmy” to excuse a person, it’s because that person is so damn obnoxious for no reason, that there really isn’t anything else that can be said.
Teammates, agents, talking heads, etc used to go on like that about Terrell Owens.. “you know, that’s just TO being TO.” It was code for ‘he’s a crazy narcissist motherfucker but we need him to win.’ That talk faded real quick when his skills did
What a cool guy…coasts through the regular season to save himself for playoffs, all while being a jerk
I dunno man sometimes its “just work” in a way. I hate talking to coworkers and chatting band shit. Let’s get shit done and then fuck off to go enjoy our lives outside of work
Do you have a hard time reading basic English? Because that’s not what they’re talking about
Ok then don’t take me out to dinner and wine and dine me, then. Did you read the post?
its the next day though where he gets ‘ignored’, lol. It’s the equivalent of going out with your boy to the bar and then the next day at work you have actual work shit on your mind so you can’t chat about how cool it was until the end of the day. Strus even says he was fine when they got to the game, it was just practice he felt ignored. Which is like, again, half the work day for them.
Sounds like my ex-wife
Another day on Reddit. Another hit piece on Jimmy for absolutely no reason.
I think Jimmy has given people enough reasons to not be a fan of him lol
It’s one of 3 things guaranteed. Low social battery, bi polar disorder, or just plain childish
I miss my boi Strus
Happy to see an ex-Heat player actually play well on their new team 😅
For real
jimmy treat his teammates like side hoes lmaooo
I’ve been described as such by some coworkers. Where I can appear disinterested and other days be friendly. But it’s more because I’m introverted and don’t like expelling energy to be friendly. Or I have some undiagnosed mental disorder
Sounds like this personality is exactly why he hasn’t won a chip yet.
Exactly how I imagine Jimmy is
We’ve all had that douchey coworker who acts like this.
This is the classic high school loser bully mentality. Hilarious and unsurprising.
Some people don’t recognize the toxicity within a friendship. But bullies need friends too. Friends to manipulate and control. And to coerce them into praising the bully.
Why are you guys crying about this? He’s nice at dinner, then nice during the game, but moody during practice. And he even says they’re good friends now once they figured that out and are cool with it.
This is normal shit and you dorks are calling it BPD. Is this why redditors are always on meds and shit?
Everyone clowned on Kat…..but dude has a chip now, and is continuing to be proven right about “Himmy” Butler, year over year
Relationship reads like a sales job
lovebombing jimmy
Looped to perfection
I’m claiming definitively that he has BPD for the downvotes.
Sounds like a nightmare.
I never really heard Strus talk. He has the voice of a guy who’s gonna be a color commentator one day
Jimmy Buckets aka Michael Jordan’t
Keep in mind, Jimmy Butler absolutely did love Max when they played together. I believe he likely put pressure on Spo to swap Duncan for Max (when Duncan was going through his slump). Spo did it and there were reasons, but Max was his guy.
Like others have remarked though, I can’t even imagine how difficult a personality like that would be to handle on a daily basis.
Maybe Butler has a twin, and Strus is only friends with one of them.
The Butler twins are pulling a long con, where there’s gonna be a trade one day, but the paperwork’ll be messed up, so no one’s sure if it went through.
When the teams play each other that night there’ll be a Butler in each uniform, playing against each other, while everyone watching is losing their goddamned minds.
No way he’s trying this shit on the Scrimmage Slugger
Sounds bi polar
yeah fuck Jimmy Butler
I’m pretty sure he doesn’t do Steph this way
Buckets Mentality
Almost said “he’s a dick but he’s my dick”
Guys in here really hate Jimmy huh, kind of surprising tbh
General Soreness has alwasy been a self-absorb douche.
I’ve had friends like that, they don’t stay friends very long.
There are a lot of toxic bosses in all industries that act like this and it’s infuriating.
One day they yell at you or whatever and then the next day they take you out to lunch.
It’s just another abusive relationship. Similar to when a boyfriend abuses his girlfriend but then buys her flowers the next day.
Sick fucks like this need to be checked
Oh, so he’s not quirky, he’s just a generational jerk.
Never forget that Max Strus told his Cavalier teammates to show up against the Pacers in the 2025 Eastern Conference semi-finals and proceeded to go 0/9
Not good enough to act like that, thats why he ringless. Brunson was nice to all his teammates and still win a ring.
Just realized steph has to deal with this and draymond’s shenanigan
