Delonte West destroys streamer without dribbling
Don’t care about the kid, but happy Delonte looks like he is doing good. Dude has lived lifetime and a half.
Nah he’s still down bad they just got him fresh clothes
I hope he eats at the chillest restaurants
Something something hottest dudes
Jacked
Neon bought Delonte streaming gear and got him a $100K deal to stream
but redditors who’ve never donated a penny to unhoused folks will complain
I don’t think dude was complaiming I think he’s just saying he’s a little cleaned up for the video but still going through it
My guy, that’s where some of your tax money is supposed to go to (having a social security net and looking after sick people, homeless and elderly). Not to build new stadiums for billionaires, starting wars abroad and for Israel to commit genocide.
Yeah but some of us NEED homeless people to look down upon / make ourselves feel better for only making 40k a year while our boss steals from our back pockets. /s
The simple solution is to give all of our money to the millionaire streamers so they can make more top tier content like this and make even more money until they have enough money to gift all of us unhoused people 100k streaming deals. /s
He sound and looks like he still on drugs what u mean cuh
Follow him on IG, he posts a lot. He’s been clean for a good stretch now. Getting out a lot, getting back in shape, spending a ton of time with his family. Really dope to see dude getting it together.
He could possibly still be, but it hasn’t even been 9 months since he went to rehab. He still looks much better than he did previously
I mean at least he seems to have his fine motor skills intact. Shooting motion still seemed good lol
Good is relative compared to recent videos I’ve seen he looks “good”
He sounds like he is missing teeth due to drug use, he does not “sound like he still on drugs”
He has always sounded like that, even when he was on the Celtics. That’s just how he talks.
Right? Nephews that NEVER got close to drugs and have ZERO knowledge about it, saying stupid shit like “he sounds like he still on drugs” is kinda infuriating
When you’ve lived the life he did and used the amount of dope he put into his body you dont just become the person you used to be overnight…Thats why they say ONE DAY AT A TIME…
Why the disclaimer that you don’t care about the kid lol
They want to feel superior that’s why
Regardless of context, I’m always happy to see a positive Delonte West update.
Will forever be a fan. I wish he’s finally able to kick the habit. It’s such a hard thing to do
With some drugs, particularly cocaine and other stimulants (dont have experience with opioids thankfully) it really is a lifetime struggle. I know dudes that have been sober for 20 years and theres not a day that goes by where they dont think about relapsing. Its fucking tough. And sure you can ignore those thoughts, but once something bad happens in your life or youre starting to struggle you might reignite your habit without even thinking/realising it. Its like a toxic ex that always shows up at your weakest moment.
This is why all of the glp1 drugs give me hope. It’s the first time ever addicts seem to be able to live a normal life without the constant noise in their heads.
I have no idea why you’re being downvoted, there is massive research that aside from weight loss glp1s can help with addiction to alcohol and various substances. We’re still in the early stages but this is legit a thing. It’ll be interesting to see where it goes bc I think it could really help a lot of people.
Wow I didn’t know that! It would be an incredibly positive development.
It’s wild because they’re even seeing it with addictions to things like gambling. We’ll see as more research comes out but it’s absolutely nuts what the possibilities are.
I can tell you it killed the two addictive urges i have, gambling and beer. You just… don’t really feel like it
It’s world changing. Demand for illicit substances, alcohol, etc will drop and people will finally be free of these cancers.
It was probably getting downvoted because people like to think obesity and addiction are due to moral failings not anything scientific that can be remedied.
Maybe, or else simply bc that information isn’t really widely available yet unless you like to keep up with medical science. I don’t expect everyone to know which is why I left my comment, so hopefully people can go read for themselves bc it really is a very cool thing.
When you put it that way, it sounds grim as a motherfucker.
Comments like yours help remind me why throughout my 34 years of life, the hardest drug I’ve ever used is weed. I just can’t/won’t deal with the shenanigans of opioids. I’d go crazy if I kept thinking about relapsing everyday for 20 years… And knowing I might actually die/never be able to sober up again if I do!
it really is a coin flip. trauma isnt even necessary for addiction to take hold if there’s a lurking genetic predisposition, recent science advises. 😞
The moment I learned how true this was, was when I watched Chris Rock throw it all away in his role in New Jack City. Man got clean as all hell and had the chance to fuck up the whole drug ring that ruined him… smh. Watching him struggle to put the lighter down from the pipe trying to fight the urge until he finally broke a few scenes later really put it in perspective for me. He had to have watched quite a few of the homies suffer firsthand to be able to pull off that performance so well.
Addiction as a whole os just something that is very hard to understad from the outside eyes i believe.
For a long time in my 20’s and early 30’s i always felt like it was just a choice.
And then i watched my dad lose everything. His home. His friends. And then his health and ultimately his life, to alcoholism a week before his 58th birthday.
He had a bad case of diverticulitis and had to have about a foot of his intestines removed. He kept drinking through all of that. Dude was truly suffering with something just didnt get.
And thend he died and i grew more sympathetic towards addicts than i ever have.
It really is a battle every day, and its just something that i think a lot of people cant understand.
I think about drinking every second of every day since being in a car hit and run and breaking my spine. I used to think the same way as you did. Now it’s all encompassing. I can’t even remember the last time I drank but it’s all I think about because it gives me the best pain relief from my injuries. 4 years now and it’s harder than ever.
“I’ll just use one more time to help me get through this hard thing then I’ll stop again” is a nasty trap
Man even caffeine gets to me years after giving it up (aside from chocolate lol). The number of times my brain is sneakily like oh but would that can of coke really be that bad? I cant even imagine what that voice is like for drugs like cocaine.
Same. The “wtb” in my username stands for WestTheBest. Been using it since the Marcus Banks vs Delonte West debate was a thing.
Damn west still has it like that even after all his struggles
NBA players are the 1% of the 1% when it comes to ball, even old and retired ones lol
Sorry it’s actually the 1% of the 1% of the 1% of the 1% of the 1%.
There are more Olympic gold medals winners I. History than NBA players
Well yeah…the first modern Olympics was in 1896 and they give out hundreds of medals each time 😂
Stat not as crazy as you would think
this is not a relevant stat if you apply a few brain cells
Surprisingly not really. A quick Google search will tell you there’s been between 4,900-5,000 NBA players all time and roughly 5,500 gold medals handed out in summer Olympic games since 1896. Discrepancy not as big as you’d expect between the two.
just because the numbers are close doesnt mean it means something.
Your number of gold medals given out is way too low. For team sports, it counts as one gold medal in the standings but every member of the team gets one.
Not than nba players in history though
what?
There are more Olympic gold medals than nba players, but there might not be more distinct winners when factoring in multiple time winners.
Michael Phelps has enough to give two teams a single medal to each player.
The 1% of the 1%, sir, with honors!
He’s just really excited and he has no clue why we’re here
My son randomly got to watch Anthony Edwards shooting around in an Atlanta gym. He was shooting 3’s and my son said he didn’t miss a single one during the 5 minutes he got to watch. They’re built different.
Saw a guy at the gym a while back, wearing Oklahoma University gym shorts, just casually dropping shots from inside the circle on one side of just half court. They’re out there.
Using the US population, this maths to 0.035 of a person playing in the NBA.
1% of 1% of 1% would be 350 people
That’s one in ten billion.
It’s hard to fathom just how unreasonably talented pro athletes are. Even the g league or practice squad players in the NFL are insane.
I think the Chess ELO holds for most pro sports. Where a child vs an trained amateur is “the same” as a trained amateur vs a grand master.
Because chess ELO ratings are very easy to work out you can see that a grand master would be expected to lose 0 games vs a trained normal dude. So if you think you could flog a child at <activity
, that’s how a Pro thinks of you
Chess gives the best example.
A 1000 rated player just clowns anyone who just knows the rules.
A 1500 player clowns that guy.
The gap from 1500 to 2000 is less obvious—I would say a 2000 wins every game, but it’s not nearly as much a of a floor wiping. Just a function of what gets better in players—the 2000 is far, far more consistent and capable, and wins every game, but the delta is less obvious.
…a 2500 clowns on the 2000.
And a 2500 is a bad pro.
An average lvl 2500 player in the world is ranked 580. There are over 550 players better than you are, and 2500 is nothing to sneeze at.
A lot of normal people really don’t understand how elite G league players are. The margin between them and NBA bench players is so small.
I used to play pickup against a guy who played good college ball but decided to come back to the UK and work in the city rather than take up pro ball in Europe as he was never going to sniff the NBA
Man was fucking incredible.
I think Lebron could be actively overdosing on heroin and he would still fry my ass 21-0
If this was a flair option, I’d take it
Same for me. And I’m saying this as someone who hooped internationally u18
If I was playing against a NBA athlete and made there heart beat a single extra beat per minute, I would consider it a massive victory, as they curb stomp me on the scoreboard. And that would be in any sport let alone basketball
I think the NBA has had something in the mid-4,000’s, of total number of players ever. Think about how many people have existed in all of history. NBA players are an extremely rare breed.
To be fair counting all the population before the NBA or Basketball existed is a bit moronic (for obvious reasons)
Abe Lincoln couldn’t even dunk smh
Hilarious, good point. Still though like 6bil adults alive today alone and only 5k or so NBA players ever. People still underestimate how rare NBA players are when nerds think they can beat any player
I mean for shorter players even more so. When you get to taller players like 7 foot tall and up, its exponentially more common to play in the NBA.
Its funny since I watched another video of the streamer dude being too good against Julian Newman the other day
Also most of the time smaller guys are more technical by necessity
& the taller you get the more likely your body breaks down.
This is the most “thanks Magic” thread I’ve ever read
And Delonte was a decent player. He would do well in this era with his variety of skills. Could shoot, defend, and be a secondary playmaker.
40% (in nba >5 years) of the 1% (ncaa to nba) of the 3% (hs to ncaa) of ballers too. TL;DM they’re top 0.012% of competitive basketball players
There’s only been 4500 NBA players ever!!!
Wild when you consider that includes all the dudes who only got a cup of coffee in the league
shout out jameson curry
Man I was so pissed because he was supposed to come to UNC and save the program but then got caught with like a pound of weed.
Turned out that he wasn’t very good though.
JamesOn*
U know what’s wild is there’s gonna be some NBA guys that just were there riding the bench for a cup of coffee and then you’ll look them up on Wikipedia and see that they once played in another League like in China, Philippines etc. and you see them ball tf out on a championship roster in most cases. Fucking wild.
Which makes it all the more astonishing that about fifteen percent of all seven foot tall people are current or former nba players
The most profound thing Kyrie Irving has ever said.
That number is going up faster now though with more players on 2 way contracts getting 3 total games played before getting cut. A roster today has over 20 players that checked in during the season. You look back at rosters in from 30 years ago they wouldn’t always even have 15 players that played in the season.
As my boy Scalabrine would always say, he was closer to LeBron then you were to him
He’s way closer… Both in skill and lifetime physical proximity. Sigh.
I loved how he showed up that bum from NY. He’d clearly watched that dude and how rough he plays people, so he served him the exact same treatment. Beautiful to watch
You never really lose your shot. Like I’m sure he still has a lot more in him than what this clip shows, but he’s not even needing to move here lol. Anyone who was a shooter at even just a high school level could permanently score on this level of defense.
Posting neon clips should be a permanent ban
Eh, I can let this slide. I’m just happy to see Delonte West hooping.
Who the hell is that dork
Some YouTube punk kid that makes a living off kissing famous dudes ass.
i dont even like the dude but lets not pretend the overwhelming majority of people in here wouldnt be down to earn millions of dollars to hang out with nba players
I mean who wouldn’t be down to earn millions in almost any context?
I don’t know who this kid is but how? Was he already popular on YouTube to begin with? And if so, why?
Thats Delonte.
No the other dork
Neon, some kind of irl streamer
I read steamer and I think I’m sticking with that
Delonte West?
some racist dweeb no one likes
Lebron’s Dad
He’s the guy that banged Lebron’s mom.
Some make a wish kid
Not sure, hope they find the cure
I know he’s Delonte.
So why am I having a déjà vu with Michael Beasley?
Because they’re both light skinned dudes from PG County, MD who vaguely look alike and perhaps have similar accents whose struggles with substances and/or mental health kept them from reaching their full potential despite obvious talent, is my guess
You forgot left handed
Mmmh…
Certainly all you said might have something to do with it.
But now I re-watched it and I reached some conclussion.
It was mostly because the hat.
Huh, I didn’t know West was from PG
Used to be walking around 210 and MGM Area during Covid when he was down bad.
MGM area makes sense for sure. Hopefully he’s doing better
PG County shoutout!
Both massive talents who mostly squandered their abilities and fortunes
Just goes to show how insanely fucking good NBA players are. He’s literally a homeless crackhead who last played in the NBA 14 years ago.
Its like riding a bike for them, you just dont lose the skills, maybe some warm up required but overall its all there in muscle memory.
100%. Delonte probably has way more than 100k reps at shooting 3s. That’s muscle memory you don’t forget.
I mean once you really figure out the flow on your jumpshot it’s pretty much like not using a language in a while - you gotta warm up but it comes back quickly and quite well.
I’m not sure this guy could guard a mediocre high school player based on what I just watched
Sure, but he’s not even 45 yet. That’s old for a pro athlete, but not really old in life. Unless he’s literally handicapped he’d still beat 99% of hoopers on earth.
We haven’t seen him dribble tho /s
God I hate these dumb streamers
what did he do?
Got famous by being racist
Doesn’t exactly narrow it down
Mostly the fake overexaggerated reactions to everything
“Golly I can’t believe an NBA player hit a shot over me”
That dumb streamer gave him 100k. Lot more help giving than most.
Funneling online gambling money. So generous
And you out here feeding your kids with mint mobile referrals. By any means necessary. Helping out a homeless drug addict is a blessing. Celebrate other people’s success.
brother, he’s doing it with dirty money that’s caused a lot more people to become homeless addicts.
you’re so gullible, when you see cartels “helping” communities by tossing a couple thousand dollars here and there you think they’re actually helping them LOL
Reminds me of how I used to see pop-up food banks that came with “free samples”.
Bro I read this like no way that’s too convenient 😭 this is crazy
[removed]
Agreed but are you a bot? Suspicious account
He’s an American hero, dammit!
Why am I seeing this kid so much? I don’t want to
he pays nba players to hang out with him. it’s a lot more productive than what he used to do… plus it’s cool to see nba dudes that were down bad look alright.
good for Delonte
I’m happy to see him smiling and still hooping
why do all these players hang out with this fucking loser so much man
Dude probably pays them.
Not probably, he absolutely does.
That would be insanely pathetic but also unsurprising
He gave a homeless guy 100k to shoot some hoops, how is that pathetic lol
Probably the most help Delonte got all decade not counting Mark Cuban
I mean even if he pays them (likely) he should still be profiting from the livestreams. The ones who are pathetic through your frame of mind (that I disagree with) are everyone watching
Why don’t these broke and old former NBA players just provide like 1on1 basketball training sessions to the kids? Wouldn’t parents pay for it?
Cause he needs 1on1 sessions with a therapist or some other support… although he looks to be straightening out
Because he’s a mentally unstable bipolar schizophrenic.
Many of them hold camps.
I would not pay money to leave my kids under Delontes supervision.
Some of them do
Wow Delonte looks pretty messed up but he’s got the hoops in his blood
Someone explain who that blonde haired dude is please. He keeps popping up in videos with athletes.
Streamer that became famous by being racist
Idunno who he is but I’m guessing he’s some fucking idiot streamer
racist loser kick streamer
bottom of the barrel of society
Delonte is closer to LaBron James than you are to him.
Certainly close to his mother
can we stop promoting this loser neon
Streamers are such horrible actors. They’re reacting for camera, how they think they’re supposed to. So even though he’s legit being trounced, his reaction feels forced and fake.
Over the top and annoying is what you’re looking for
Yeah but this type of acting is normalized among kids who grew up watching YouTubers. Now the kids act like this for real, so to them the streamers are being authentic.
Adin Ross is a moron but good to see Delonte doing OK
Whats Adin Ross got to do with any of this?
Every streamer is Adin Ross to me lmfao
Personally, I want to know what Ja thinks about this clip.
WHERE IS JA!?
Delonte West destroyed LeBron’s mom without dribbling.
In fact, she was the one doing all the dribbling and ball handling
[deleted]
Shaq is still 7 foot and 300 pounds what fucking moron thinks they could beat him today? Unless he’s in a wheelchair there’s zero shot lmao
what fucking moron thinks they could beat him today
We are on r/nba after all😂
Marques Johnson is 70 years old and still dunking. Shaq, Barkley, and Kenny would fry people.
Not the Delonte offseason video I’m accustomed to seeing but I love it nonetheless
I can’t stand this N3on kid, absolutely gutter trash content
The make a wish kid streamer!
To be fair this mostly because Neon is a dork ass bitch, not because he’s just destroying him with moves.
Delonte’s only fault was trying to be THE father figure to a teammate.
😩
Shoutout to Delonte. Hope he doesn’t stop taking his meds….
He reminds me of the time I found a HS basketball teammate panhandling for money… he wasn’t any teammate, he was our best player and went on to play ncaa division I ball for three years. He hardly recognized me and was off of his meds. Thankfully, I called his mom who had been frantically looking for him the last month. Still makes me sad to think about him.
I love seeing the Scalabrine quote proven right. Also good to see Delonte looking good.
Bro treated neon like Gloria
LeBron James Sr right there
There’s a parallel universe where Delonte does not sleep with Gloria and he actually manages to stay in the league long enough to get a ring 😮💨
NBA players are like Spartans in Halo. It’s such a crazy high skill gap you can’t even understand it. It’s like being a billionaire. A 60-year-old NBA player who isn’t totally hobbled and hasn’t played regular ball for years could probably still body 90 percent of regular street/rec players. Just the moves and fundamental skills alone would be a clinic. Even slow as hell, they could just out skill the hell out of people.
Delonte deserves happiness.
But also, the difference between pick up at the park and NBA is like being able to put a bandage on a cut and being a brain surgeon.
I can’t believe people made this streamer famous
Why does he look kinda like Beasley
NBA players are really on a different level than the rest of us.
People saying he looks better, bro his hat is hiding his giant dark eye sockets what yall meannn?
He’s closer to Lebron than the kid is closer to him skill wise.
Good to see him still alive
I’ve seen this kid play before, he’s beyond cheeks. Like last pick at gym class cheeks. I’m willing to bet the average r/nba user could beat this guy, let alone a former NBA player.
I hope Delonte is doing well.
Insert greatest video of all time

The pivot foot doesn’t move at all except when he has to shoot.
