Bike accidents can just happen cuz the bike malfunctions, ya never know, happened to me. I was on the 15 day injured list recently cuz of it.
I rode a friends bike he told me was a few weeks old. I pulled up on the handle bars going up and over a curb and was looking at the tire eye level a split second later after it came out of the front fork and needed a root canal after. Not ideal
Happened to me but the front suspension came out, landed on the ground and the bar ends stabbed into my kidney giving me internal bleeding and made me piss blood for a few days
Helmets at least would be a good option
