What head coach firing in the last five years have teams most regretted (or are likely going to regret)?
If I had to pick two off the top of my head
Denver Nuggets canning Mike Malone so close to the playoffs - yes there was a civil war between him and the GM Calvin Booth, but reflecting back, I wish Kroenke only got rid of Booth
Milwaukee Bucks canning both Mike Budenholzer and Adrian Griffin for Doc Rivers - despite both Bud and Griffin’s flaws, it was ludicrous to can Coach Bud after losing his brother in a car crash during the playoffs, more ludicrous to give up on Adrian Griffin halfway through the year despite an amazing record…and all for the sake of Doc Rivers
What would be your picks for a firing that a team regrets or is likely going to regret?
