[Highlights] Michael Jordan plays point guard in the 1988-89 season
Underrated passer
For sure. I think if he played today he’d be playing pg because in the modern game other than a few exceptions the sg position is almost always reserved for movement shooters
Agreed. The game has changed. He and his clones like Kobe and T-Mac would be used the same way Luka, SGA, and Harden are used.
People forget he averaged 11.4apg in the 91finals too. No player has averaged more assists to win a title in the 35 years since.
11.4apg with 30+ ppg in the finals is insane. He’d be a triple double machine in today’s offense favored era
Yeah, the period they are talking about on this post when he ran point for 11 games, he had 10 triple doubles in those 11 games and missed out on 11 straight by one rebound.
He’s often the best person to score on him team. didn’t need a reason to pass most of the time
Yup. “The luxury of having Michael is that he can get his shot whenever he wants” - Phil Jackson
He averaged like over 10 APG in the stretch where he played PG too and got like 8 for the year. I always thought it was such an outlier year but then this makes sense as it also shows a lot of player’s assists totals is often also due to what position you play because it wasn’t like he couldn’t average 10 APG. The triangle offense just didn’t allow it.
He also averaged 10 APG in a finals series, I think 91 but it may have been 92
He has the 3rd highest assist average in the Finals.
It was like 11.7 I believe, and he was only behind Magic Johnson and Bob Cousy
Seventh per series average but not average in all of the finals:

Over 11 assists per game in 91 finals. A third of Paxson points were assisted by Jordan.
So good.
lmao wtf is this? why did this video turn into some weird undercover “im not gonna name said players name” lebron shade vide loll.
unreal. would’ve been cool just as a jordan video.
What was Sam Vincent playing?
vincent was injured and in and out of the starting lineup so they had mj and paxson shift between the guard positions.
JKidd with Cooper Flagg, basically
Really wonder how close to being the GOAT would he be given his cast of team in today’s climate
Shades of Scottie Barnes
I thought the LeBron glaze was starting to get bad on this sub, but jfc, what is that channel name. I’m speechless.
when its my guy its not glaze, but when its your guy it is. and then at the end of the video they admit they made the video because of lebron lol
The ability to dribble the ball up court all the way to the free throw line before getting guarded is an indictment on this entire era when old heads want to say they could beat modern teams
Bro does a video of MJ at PG and all the highlights are typical high usage Jordan plays. And Jordan improving his numbers at PG really didn’t mean anything. They still didn’t scratch 50 wins in the reg season and they lost in the ECF to the Pistons. All it really told you is if you put Jordan at PG full time he would be another Westbrook with a jump shot. Lebron on the other hand can actually play the PG role and those stats will translate to championships.
Yeah, he lost to a stacked pistons team that went b2b(cheated out of a 3peat by your lakers and their refs) in the ecf with a 13 ppg year 2 pippen as his second option.
Also he played pg in the 91 finals when the bulls beat your lakers btw. He averaged 11.4 assists per game.
…you know that guy you’re replying to isn’t the owner of the Lakers right?
… Jordan won a title playing PG. He dropped 11 apg on your team’s head
Can’t you freaks take a break out of this tired, shit debate between MJ and Lebron, for fuck sake.
This may be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard
Not sure why you got downvoted. Almost nothing in the highlights posted is PG play. Not a single possession starting with an inbounds after a made basket.
90% fast breaks and isos. All this shows is that it doesn’t matter what position Jordan played, he was so good he would get buckets and create scoring opportunities no matter what.
Because he called him Westbrook with a jumper. The comment reeks of bronsexuality
