LeBron James with no regard for human life! One of his greatest dunks ever and one of Kevin Harlan’s greatest calls ever
Cavs Bron was just a freak athlete
Which one?
What do you mean which one? Im pretty sure there was only that first stint. He got drafted by Cleveland, went to Miami, there was no basketball for 4 years, then the Lakers and now the 76ers.
LeBronto must have been blocked out of memory like childhood trauma lol
LeBronto? Never heard of him. He play in Greece or something?
If he had chosen TO instead of the Sixers he could have been LeBrontosaurus
Lebronto? You believe in white walkers, snarks and grumpkins?
Yes
One of the rare cases where this is a huge understatement.
He was built like a custom 2k player with maxed out physical stats
look at KG pushing as hard has he can, and nothing.
crazy no foul call either.
And people call him soft and flopping
Lebron 1.0 was such a joy to experience first hand
25 straight in Detroit is still one of the greatest single game performances I’ve ever seen.
still THE greatest
I was on a family road trip and missed the game live but hearing the updates on the radio (yes that old) was amazing, my distant family we were visiting dvr recorded (again, old) the game and I got to freak out twice
This dunk is not even in LeBron’s top 5.
With context and the call it is.

Shut up man I can watch hoops however I like.
Who is “we”? I certainly do, for example I don’t compare this dunk to one of a YouTuber with a 46” vertical, because…context
Who is “we”? Do you have a mouse in your pocket?
Context still matters though.
If LeBron had hit that dunk on Draymond Green in 2016 Game 7 in the final seconds of the game, that would have been the greatest dunk of all time in my opinion given the context. Draymond was lucky that he pushed LeBron to prevent him from getting the dunk off.
L take
Who’s we?
If context didn’t matter then the best dunks wouldn’t even be from live games
It isn’t which is pretty crazy in itself considering he just straight up beat 2 defenders off the drible then finished by dunking on Garnett of all players lol. Tim Duncan had a quote sometime around this time about the Spurs guarding Bron with 5 but Boston didnt get that memo…
Well said! I’m going to add in the midsection push from Garnett which would’ve sent the vast majority of players flying off to a hard fall to that list lol
It’s up there. Getting fouled while dropping a nasty dunk to go up 9 with 2 minutes left against a juggernaut Celtics team to tie the series
The dunk itself is all time great but the context matter too
It’s not in Gerald Green’s top 5.
The fact that he had to go through 3 defenders to score sums up the first LeBron stint Cavs.
Old ass Joe Smith playing those crunchtime playoff minutes right there. People that weren’t around will never really understand when lebrons supporting cast is brought up. We’ve never seen anything like it. It’d be like wemby on the nets for 4 straight years
Joe Smith is the same age as Ray Allen and only 1 year older than KG.
U think youre proving a point there? He was the same age as big Z and 3 whole years older than Eddie house and a year older than damon jones in this game. Isn’t that crazy? I dont get it. Are you saying Joe Smith wasnt on his way out of the league at this point and should not have been in any playoff rotation at this point or are you saying Joe Smith at age 32 was a fine playoff rotation player?
I love the LeBron headband creeping higher and higher era.
LeBron got waves tho
His in and out dribble to throw off Posey is never talked about in this clip. That little hesitation opens up that right side so much and let’s him have the lane to wind up
I mean I wouldn’t put this even on his top 5 or maybe top 10 best dunks ever. The crowd atmosphere and the call all elevate this play.
I got to watch his whole career. Just appreciate greatness.
Kevin Harlan had used this call in the past before FYI, I believe I first recall it for a Kobe dunk
This was actually one of Harlan’s catchphrases from back in his Minnesota days. I say with no irony, Harlan may have been the 2nd most important person (behing KG) in keeping the Timberwolves stable in MN, he was so engaging. I lived through it, that was such a trash franchise for so long, there’s absolutely a world where they end up in OKC or some other city
He had a great comment about his influence on the team on a pod with Lowe right before the finals. Someone, I want to say a TV exec, was asking if he was being too excited for his calls, and his response was essentially to the effect of “nobody knows anything about this new Minnesota franchise. If my energy is what can keep them from changing the channel, I will keep that energy up”.
Rider’s on the storm!
He used it for KG first, I think. Back when he was the Timberwolves announcer.
Ironic given the context.

Same here. I’ve always associate this line with Kobe.

Current youngest player Cooper Flagg wasnt even two when this happened
Hell yeah
Young Bron in his first tenure with the Cavs was so fun to watch. You knew he was still trying to develop his game and a jump shot where often he relied on his power and athleticism. But man, when he got to the rim you knew it was going to be blockbuster.
his alley oops from that era. there was one from 2005 or so on some random midweek game that i swear he must have caught it at the top of the backboard and yammed it in
fuck you rich paul
Chills every. Time. 💪🏾🙏🏾
this dunk was more about the announcer saying “no regard for human life” which is a pretty epic thing to say, than about the dunk itself. KG wasn’t actually contesting it, he didn’t have the angle. if bron dunked over KG at the rim, while KG was actually trying to contest it, then that would be one of, if not the greatest dunk ever
Yeah not greatest dunk ever material at all but the context matters. 4th quarter playoff series with less the 2 to go. Basically closes the game out and ties the series
it’s not that dramatic. goes from up by 7 to up by 9 with 2 min left. an important point for sure but hardly as dramatic as a game winner or somethig like that. in win probability terms they prob go from like 70% to 85% or something like that
Kg couldn’t get up fast enough so he just pushes LeBron in the air….
Why is this dunk such a big deal?
In my view, it is a mediocre dunk. He didn’t jump high enough, and it wasn’t that powerful.
KG always been bitch made
KG doesn’t even try lmao. I can’t believe some people try to rate him higher than TD. Get dunked on bro.
