Quite a good roster but they are now lacking an elite playmaker, add to that the teams that upgraded in the east like Sixers, Raptors, Wizards, Heat, Pacers with Haliburton returning, and other playoff teams staying the same like Knicks, Cavaliers, Pistons, Hawks, it will be tough for the Hornets to even make the play-in.

41% seems really high. I feel like making the play-ins itself is below 50% for them.

Loved Lamelo when he was here but sometimes I would question if he was worth the money even tho advanced stats love him and if he could carry us deep if we ever got the talent. It hurts a lot more for us because this team was specifically built around him, we surrounded him with shooters who can’t really create their own offense and he’s the guy who’s the primary facilitator and ball handler. There’s not a lot of pg’s in the league who can play like that on a starter level in the league which is why it’s a weird trade to make with the drafting and roster moves we decided to make.

We’ve never made the playoffs in his time here but he never really played well in all 4 play in games we’ve had but can’t fault him too much cause sometimes he was coming back from injury and the teams we had were like never prepared anyways. Interested to see how his career pans out in Minnesota. After the initial shock of the trade I actually grew to kind of like it but a lot of it falls on how Jeff can get a pg capable of filling his role with our assets.

Miller and Knueppel are the team’s future, and they doubled down. Willing to wait and see if it works, even if it takes a season to make the playoffs.

I think on paper they’re worse because LaMelo did so much in terms of driving their offense, but they’re deeper and I think Kon, Miller and even Coby are primed to make big leaps next year (hell, throw Naz Reid in there too).

Coby might already be 26 but he was dynamite in Charlotte when he was on the floor (29.¹⁄₅.⁵⁄₅.7 on 61.1% TS per36). He’s never had the keys to a team quite like this, and he’s back in his home state.

Brandon Miller or Kon gotta play like MVPs, similar to Cade for them to get to post season and I don’t see that happening. Look at the east teams man. It’ll be a version of Bulls Coby White had while he was there

Charlotte is getting on a Miller breakout next year. Looking his advanced stats and improvements, it does seem likely.

They’re also betting on Kon being one of the best glue guys of all time, and it’s hard to bet against that.

Miller will have to be in MJ 93 flow state with Kon at 2016 Curry levels for this Hornets team to avoid the play in this year
