Glad you’re saying this. It’s basically flipping from 1. Lore 2. A-Rod 3. Stad to 1. Stad 2. A-Rod 3. Lore. Shad is said to be continuing with the same plans of building a new arena in MPLS, extending Connelly, and keeping the current organizational structure in place. There is some reading between the lines that can be done with Lore turning a great profit in a short amount of time and Stad’s wife having a large title but from all reliable sources so far, this does not seem to be a significant shakeup.

I mean it’s still flipping the majority share of the team after a couple of seasons, just cause Stad was a minority owner before and Lore is keeping a minority stake after doesn’t mean control over the team (the thing that ultimately matters) isn’t changing hands. Everyone talks a big game about cooperation and working as a team and whatever but when the rubber hits the road with billionaires it’s the guy who owns 51 percent that gets his way. Just remember all the rhetoric around Cuban staying involved in the Mavericks after he sold his controlling stake and look at how that turned out for him

By my napkin math this is wild. Arod was using leverage in his share. Let’s assume he had a ¹⁄₃ stake, 33%, that’s what I’ve gathered from reports but it’s not confirmed. Original sale of \(1.5B, means his stake was \)500M. Most likely was leveraged using \(150M cash and \)350M debt. With the new valuation of \(4.5B, his stake is now worth \)1.5B. So an instant \(1B gain in paper wealth on top of original \)150M cash equity + $350M debt. Just wild.
