[Highlights] Michael Jordan defensive highlights in the 1996 NBA Finals.
His large hands helped him swipe and steal with crazy accuracy
That blind side downward swipe helped set up his iconic last shot for the Bulls.
So he was Kawhi before Kawhi 😂
Kawhi with athletism lol
Acting like Kawhi wasn’t athletic af before the Clippers
Showing the glove who the real glove is. lol
I mean gp locked up mj pretty good too, and i say this as a bulls fan. Mj shot 36.7% from the field after they switched glove onto him.
And that was a hobbled Payton, besides
I watched all of this and remember almost none of it. My brother and I watched every Bulls finals from the second to the sixth. From Age 10⁄11-16⁄17.
I think my memory would have still been below average, but being a recreational drinker and weed smoker from my teen years may have done a number on my memory.
It’s okay, you remember the important things
He’s the GOAT for a reason.
Seems like a pretty decent player
Possible hall of fame worthy.
Having seen MJ in his prime , nobody in today’s league comes close.
I would say over the years, Kobe has the most similar game overall. But MJ was pure dominance on both ends and instilled fear in almost all of his opponents.
I’ve always wondered, why does instilling fear matter? Like, obviously it can make a player underperform, but are there stats to back up that people underperformed against Jordan? And how much could you attribute it to Jordan’s defensive prowess and/or the Bulls’ defensive scheme as a whole, or simply the lights being too bright in regard to the Playoffs?
It’s a pure vibes thing. You can decide someone does or doesn’t instill fear arbitrarily to bolster your guy’s case.
Always found it funny that people say “nobody fears LeBron” when he basically stopped the Eastern Conference from seeing the Finals for nearly an entire decade. You can still hear the Toronto fans groan whenever he takes a fadeaway
Kawhi at the absolute zenith of his powers was not far off Jordan. Nowhere near the vertical athlete, but his combination of shooting, ball-security, body control, balance, and lockdown defense made him impossible to deal with. His bail-out middy fader was also Jordan-esque.
The main difference between the two? Durability
Masterclass in footwork, positioning in the way he fought off post ups (Detlef) and over under screens denying GP
Just striking how much better the game has gotten in 30 years.
It was a Finals to forget for him, offensively, but great defense shows up every night and that’s what the Bulls needed to pull through
58 min Jordan/Pippen defense highlight:

1:38 is going to happen again – in crunch time in 2 years time. Mark my word!
Is this it? Where are the highlights?
Over half of this video is offensive players not being able to dribble/handle the ball, pass, or shoot.
Ragebait
You’re right Gary Payton would lose to rec league players today dribbling it off his foot.

You understand you being a child would’ve given your low intelligence a valid excuse?
88-93 jordan is better defensively than any player in the video
You might be right about these players being better than 96 jordan defensively tho
I’ve seen better play in YMCA. These guys were atrocious wow
No you haven’t
Average players are better today but the elites are elite in any era
