Jokic when asked about the Watson trade: “I’m happy for Peyton, he deserved it, we will miss his energy and skill.”
He quickly got asked in Serbian about the Peyton Watson trade after the game.

Nuggets better get to cap circumventing
“If the punishments aren’t steep, everybody should do it, if it’s just gonna be a slap on the wrist, then everybody should do it and every player should be trying to do it.” - Draymond
What is Adam silver going to do $it jokic 😂
Kroenke is the anti-Ballmer.
Yes, Kroenke’s teams actually win championships.
that makes Ballmer Jesus
Yeah because Ballmer will never win a championship
I don’t think jokic cares. Not saying he doesn’t want to win, but that he isn’t going to pressure ownership.
from @MiroslavCuk
“I’m happy for Peyton, he deserved it, we will miss his energy and skill. I don’t think about season yet, we have to play this, but it’s gonna be OK”.
If there was ever a time for the Nuggets to get Jokic hoops (even in FIBA friendlies) to calm the fanbase down it’s now
Swatson definitely de$erved it
I’ll wish him well on his next chapter in Cleveland. Hope he balls out
I’m sad man.
💔
I would rather not express my true sentiment, because it’s way too long to list. But IMO, this really seems like beginning of the end. Josh Kroenke already said “everything’s going to be on the table, outside of trading Jokic” this offseason. What is he going to publicly say next year, when our team falls short of expectations AGAIN & our star player has the ability to really consider life elsewhere by exercising his player option to opt out.
What type of ownership says they basically don’t believe in the team they were around to build outloud & then goes into a major stalement with a key contributor only to let him go for cheap. This shit just sends bad messages to the entire team & organizational outlook. Yes, the second apron sucks, but our franchises decisions do too. Everything from our contract extension choices, to our abrupt coaching & front office changes, to us not owning any significant future draft picks, to just so many other BS things man. We’re in a fucking hole we made & drowning. I could literally just go on & on about it.
The future does not look bright brother. Maybe I’m just being pessimistic. Maybe I’m just looking to far ahead, maybe we still finish as a top 4 Western conference team, but are we really going to be contenders with this supporting cast? Is our organization really just going to keep failing Joker time & time again.
I am not looking forward to us fans passing the blame another season to everyone else, but the Kroenkes.
Is he a fun player to root for? Strus was a fan favorite, so those of us who know nothing about Watson are sad/worried to see our glue guy go.
You guys are going to fall in love with PWat.
He was extremely raw when drafted, but his effort & energy has never been a question. He’s a terrific athletic defender, with a long wingspan. Not to mention, his offensive game is still growing & evolving.
Denver would constantly misuse him in small ball lineups & have him play PF & sometimes center because he wasn’t a liability on the defensive end. IMO, he’s going to be your perfect starting SF.
If you can find the viral video of Paul George when he was with the Clippers working out with Watson at UCLA right after we drafted Peyton Watson look it up. Paul George knew he was going to eventually become a problem in the NBA once he got his opportunity & polished his overall offensive game.
Wow, I appreciate you taking the time to reply with such insight!
Now I’m excited. Obviously offense is important, but my favorite players will always be the one(s) hustling and bringing the energy. I’ll definitely watch the Paul George video later tonight.
Thanks again, and hope you guys have a great season with Jokic.
No problem!
& likewise. I hope you guys will be able to eventually get my guy Donovan Mitchell a chip.
I think we’re in an unfortunate step back to step forward year next year. Jokic will always be great. It’s more a bummer to feel like we’re taking a year off his window because really our window is his window. He will be good for as long as he wants to play. Idk how long that will be though.
Good defender, amazing shot blocker, and somehow shoots corner 3s really well. He can also self-create some shots. Hope he does well for yall
Me too.
Denver better get aspirational
Lmao
Class act response
They all understand taking care of #1 is the most important thing.
Surprised he didn’t stay in Denver, seemed like a Jokic truther.
Kroenkes are idiots, we just couldn’t afford it
Denver’s most used lineup featuring Watson, Jokić, Murray, Cam, & Spencer Jones outscored opponents by 20.1 points per 100 possessions across 171 minutes over 13 games.
All lineups with Watson, Jokic & Murray in them outscored opponents by 13.3 points per 100 meaningful possessions (across more than 1,300 possessions), according to Cleaning the Glass.
The Kroenkes are worth \(33bil, they could have afforded to pay up. No reason they couldn't sign PWat to a minimum and give him an \)80 million no-show Great Value endorsement deal if they wanted to duck the apron
We’re already in the 2nd apron (thanks OKC, but brilliant chess move) & still have to two roster spots open. The hypothetical Klaw route talk is crazy, but not as ludicrous as the Kroenkes actually being able to afford paying Watson his 22 million annual average. However, we still need to make another move to essentially quote on quote “duck the apron”.
Sure we were still able to win a championship after TC left but this all started when the Kroenkes didn’t want to pay Tim Connely 4 million & let him leave to a division rival. Kroenkes are doing everything in their power to make Nikola Jokic really consider opting out next offseason.
Kroenkes are the sole catalysts for failing Jokic time & time again. This needs to be emphasized, understood, & expressed more. Fans have been passing the blame everywhere over the last few years except to our cheap ass ownership. Denver has been basically losing assets every year now, thus continually failing their franchise superstar.
Denver couldn’t afford him
Should’ve just had him plant some trees
But that still requires the owner to pay money, which Kroenke doesn’t want to do. Doesn’t matter if it’s under the table or not.
You can like playing with a guy and also want to get paid. Denvers offers weren’t close to the cavs offer. He’s young, dealt with injuries and no guarantee he plays better next season. Gotta secure the bag when you can.
True, I guess but this system doesn’t help shape dynasties or sustain a culture if big pieces and talent has to leave all the time. I don’t understand this and retiring jersey numbers (I’m a big ‘soccer’ guy).
Why leave out the whole sentence? Agenda-pushing bullshit.
Jokic/Luka combo gonna be sick
Is Luka joining him in Denver? Or they’re going to another team? Lakers got no assets and idk why Jokic comes off as wanting that LA spotlight lol
Trumps cousin or smth got Lakers, they will just make up assets from thin air.
Bbq chicken on defense
The defense will even be sicker, literally.
True, but the buckets will be glorious.
Both are true

He’s in a perfect situation, he can put up huge numbers and he has no pressure to win
Ah you know Jokic so well. He loves putting up numbers, doesn’t care about winning and struggles with pressure….. Gtfoh
sounds more like booker than jokic
Said with absolutely zero self awareness by the fan of the Phoenix Suns.
Jokic: gonna reunite with him in LA soon
The Cavaliers are in Los Angeles?
