I’m a LeBron fan. I’ve watched 50+ games a season since he was on the Heat. His vertical, quickness, burst, stamina, etc are all wayyy down from where they used to be. I mean it’s almost unrecognizable watching a Center switch out onto LeBron and he isn’t able to burst by them anymore. Or seeing him unwilling to deal with ball pressure. Or how much less lift he gets on dunks. He’s had to adapt his game a ton. Again he still is a good athlete even by NBA standards, especially in bursts. But he is not in the same universe as he was in his prime - to my eyes at least.

Bonds was an absolute menace as a hitter not only because of his power, but the ability to focus and “play chess” to predict what was coming.
