They lost a potential defensive stopper and high level offensive contributor that thru could have locked into a multi yr deal for $22 mil a yr.

Those guys don’t grow on trees and given the shitty nature of the bargaining agreement, the team had the leverage here. Then they lost it. Players like Watson and Tari Eason are now going to have some of the moat valued deals in the league. Not to mention that $22 mil is very easy to move if you need to.

This deal is an organizational failure and a red flag regarding their commitment to jokic imo.
