Like it’s not SGAs fault for foul baiting, it’s the NBAs for setting up the rules to allow that. I mean, the lakers get an advantage purely by being the lakers. Being a team every free agent wants to go to and having an easier time attracting talent is in itself unfair, which to be clear isn’t the lakers fault.

Your whole argument is on the basis that the sport is fair and that only tanking teams are gaining a lead when the reality is, up to this year is that’s the only way for a team like the jazz or wizards to get good.

No my basis on the argument is that a competitive sport can only be serious if all teams are trying to win. Match-fixing is the biggest detriment and sin that can happen in a sport and tanking is just a form of tactical match fixing. I made no claims of fairness nor do I think it is necessary for all teams to have an equal chance of success.

Not only that but the notion that tanking is the only way for teams to get good is kinda stupid. Jokic is a second rounder, Milwaukee made the playoffs the year before drafting Giannis, and I can go on with plenty of generational players like Steph and Kobe being drafted in very accessible draft slots. Very few champions in recent years have been built through tanking.

Denver and Portland asks the same whenever he has these stretches of remembering how to play. That’s just him at this point. He’ll play like ass all year, but have a stretch of games that show what he’s capable of when he’s actually focused.

The oscillation of opinions sometimes causes whiplash.

Last summer, Nurkic for Colin Sexton (plus pick!) was not thought of highly except by Hornets fans.

Had the Jazz retained Kessler, they’d have also kept Nurkic as depth and three games last January wouldn’t be the basis of a discussion.

That the Jazz are relying on Nurkic for more than garbage time minutes is a potential issue for them. He’s still Nurkic.
