Are we going to be fine next year without a great scorer on the bench?
Is Prichard not on the team anymore?
I think the assumption is that he’s starting now
seems fairly likely we have him off the bench because on top of scoring, we could really use bench creation in general, and conley shouldn’t be a primary backup. either way he and white are getting staggered, but bringing him off the bench makes that easier. there’s plenty of wings on the team so we could easily start any of hauser, walsh, scheierman, or hugo alongside white, jt, pg, and queta or mitch
I dont see why. The second Tatum came back Pritchard went right back to 6th man, and thats really his best use.
Paul George and Tatum are both still good scorers, id honestly prefer Pritchard off the bench again.
White, Hauser, PG13, Tatum, Mitchell/Queta ad the starting 5.
Personally I’m against Hauser in the starting lineup. Think we need more versality there
hugo?
None of Hauser, PG or Tatum can defend the two guard. We are looking at Baylor or Hugo.
Celtics had the number 2 bench net rating in the league last year and PP started for most of it. We are going to be just fine, our system enables our bench full of plus defenders to maximize their skill sets. Assuming we see some development, our bench is going to be a force.
I’m optimistic that one of Baylor or Hugo is gonna take that leap
Whether he’s starting or coming off the bench, I think Pritchard fills the role that you’re thinking of.
You absolutely need bench scoring in the playoffs for when the top heavy teams have to rest.
I’m not worried about us
With a starting line up of Pritchard white Tatum PG and Queta, we’re bringing good shooters off the bench in Hauser and Harper, savvy playmaking in Baylor, slashing and putback options in Hugo and Walsh. And then of course Mitchell Robinson, while healthy, is one of the best offensive rebounders in the league, which naturally generates more scoring opportunities for everyone. And as a bonus, I’m gonna throw in Cenac, whose got plenty of potential to exceed his expectations as a late first rounder
Yeah, not sure what OP is referring to here as PP I would say is probably 80% chance or more that he’s coming off the bench and Sam Hauser is likely coming off the bench and so is Baylor
Who is in the starting lineup then?
White/PG/Hauser/Tatum/Queta
Not joking when I say I want to see Hugo start.
Pritchard will get starter minutes and play end of game, a lot of his minutes will be against opposing starters. He’s going to play a lot of minutes with White/JT/PG.
But
Being able to switch 1-4 is pretty sick, and with either of Queta or Robinson starting, you might have the best defensive starting five in the league. Takes some pressure off George and Tatum guarding the best wing.
Hugo also fits as a transition finisher, connecting passer, cutter and would benefit from playing with a better supporting cast. Pritchard will get his no matter who he’s on the floor with. There’s a ton of value in that.
Pritchard is this guy it doesn’t matter if he starts or not. He’ll play a lot of minutes with the backups regardless of where he is for tip off.
