He’s not a star, he’s a role player on a stars contract …. Gucci in my mind is contending for championships, having even a punchers chance at a title… I do not believe that to be the case and don’t expect anything out of PG barring fresh legs from another drug suspension
C’s are definitely not favorites but they absolutely have a punchers chance. With the unpredictability of the East I wouldn’t even be surprised if we’re the 1 seed. That’s the best case scenario, of course, George and Robinson being healthy, which for them would be 60 games. I expect George to have higher usage than in Philly so he should be over 20 PPG, elite 3 point shooter. Still a very good defender.
Best case scenario is 60+ wins and the 1 seed, worst case George and Robinson miss huge amounts of time and they win like 45 games and are a 6 seed. IMO they’ll be in the middle of that, something like 53-29,3 seed. But in the playoffs anything can happen.

Even take away PG+Mitch and this is a 50 win team or thereabouts, 47 at least. If they play even 50-60? Probably more like 57. Before last season people laughed at me when I said this team would be above. 500, I was told they’d win 40 games at most, 35 wins, hell some people told me 30 wins. Ended up being a fun 56 win season with a shitty ending.

Dude I was with you last summer on last years team being good, but when you factor in health and durability and the fact you could’ve ducked the aprons without the move I have no choice but to believe you are on some good chronic
Look at it like this, basically peak Jaylen but no Tatum for 80% of the season, they traded away Jrue, KP, Al left for FA because of money. We went into last year with Jaylen, Dwhite, PP, and Simons. And a bunch of unproven ?. However the coaching staff molded Quetta into an above average nba center who should continue to improve, Hugo can legit play in this league, which we now know, PP improved again, unexpected contributions from G league guys like Ron Harper Jr.
PP, in particular, I’m looking forward too. The team went 9-2 without JB , PP in those games: 25.2 ppg, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 51% shooting,. 44.4% from three on high volume. When the Brown trade first broke, there were reports that the team believed PP is on the verge of a Brunson like breakout and that JB had to go to make that happen, that they want the ball in PP’s hands as much as possible when it’s not in Tatum’s, because good things happen when he has the ball. Do I believe he’ll put up 25 per game on 50% shooting, 44% from 3? I don’t know about that, but I certainly see him taking big step forward on offensive responsibility.
So lose Jaylen, okay, big loss, but gain Tatum back, so on paper an upgrade from last year. Then you add expected improvements from PP, Quetta, Hugo, Harper. And THEN you added a legit rim protector/lob threat and best rebounder in the league on a per minute ratio, and by far the best offensive rebounder. Oh, and PG who is still, say, Dwhite level quality. I expect Tatum to be at 27-29 per game, PP, White and George to all be a little above or slightly under 20. And with George and PP taking more 3’s much better perimeter shooting. Tatum has a gravity Jaylen just doesn’t have, partly because he’s just taller/longer and can see over defenses and has become an excellent playmaker/passer. SOMEONE is gonna feast, if JT is doubled it’ll be PP or George, or White.
And the best part? Defense should be incredible. Tatum, George, White, Quetta, Robinson, Hugo, Walsh are excellent defenders and/or rebounders.. Quetta, Robinson and Dwhite bring good to elite shot blocking at their positions. This team will be above average offensively and elite defensively. Which to me translates to at least 50-55 wins.
That’s pretty much it.
I didn’t like the trade, I have had times I have despised the man (last playoffs for instance) but he’s a Celtic now and so I fucks with him.
