As a Suns fan I’m frustrated because I agree with you, both Fleming and Maluach should be key bench pieces this year but if you look at our depth chart it’s hard to see where they fit in currently. I’m worried they won’t get the time they need since we’re still trying to be a ‘contending’ team, I’d argue they should’ve gotten significant time last year as well given they looked like some of our best defenders even in the limited time they played

Both Maluach and Fleming should be starting. they are damn good and complement Booker far more than miles bridges and mark williams.

Fleming standing 6’9 with a 7’5 wingspan can legitimately guard 1-5 and pick up 94 feet and be the PoA defender or a help side rim protector. His length is also a problem in the passing lanes. he’s shooting 41.6% from 3 on his last 109 attempts between the regular season, playoffs, and summer league.

Maluach standing 7’2 with a 7’7 wingspan is going to be one of the best rim protectors in the whole league this season. Is a high level lob threat and rebounder, sets good screens, and the 3 point jumper in summer league looks legit.

When Booker Fleming and Maluach played together last season they had an offensive rating of 124, a defensive rating of 97.1, for a net rating of +26.9
