Rose is a weird one, extremely short and brilliant prime curtailed by injuries, but a really beloved and extremely popular player back then. I’d say he’s also a shoo-in.

I think almost every MVP has made it so im locking in Rose for sure. Even with a short career he is pretty iconic. Lowry makes it for longevity plus the toronto chip. Aldridge and Derozan propably make it for the longevity. Love could make it as a star turned great role player on winning teams. I could see Griffin making it as a fan favorite and pretty iconic for the dunk contests and the highlights.

DRose is the outlier and has obvious Bo Jackson syndrome, but he did get roty and was youngest to be voted best player in the league. And similar to Bo’s uniqueness, Rose was an electric pg that played like the league had never seen before. It’s probably more of a shame that the Halls don’t have a corner for Bo.

People are discounting Rose. As much as analytics is a part of the selection, popularity among fans, coaches, and owners plays a role as well. He, along with Westbrook, popularized a new form of pg play that guys like SGA and Ant benefit today. A lot of fans in the early 2010s got into basketball because of him.

Truly one of the most exciting players to watch. He’ll get in there.

If I had to guess, everyone except for Kemba and DeMarcus. It’s the basketball hall of fame — everyone eventually gets it. Don’t forget about Al Horford and Joe Johnson who will probably punch their ticket eventually.

If I had to tier list based on how likely they are,

Love, Rose and DeMar are 100% locks. Not because they should be, but because the NBA HOF is really not that hard to get into.

Aldridge and Lowry are almost certainly getting in. Like 95%

Griffin, John Wall and Cousins might get in.

No shot Kemba Walker gets in.

Derrick Rose only had a hypothetical Hall of Fame career. I believe that we never even saw him truly enter his prime because he had injured right on the cusp. It breaks my heart because the potential was infinite.

I am also not a fan of Derozan at all and I think he should go in the hall of very good, but not the Hall of Fame.

All the players named in the OP get in eventually. They are all very famous basketball players.

The basketball HOF indicts everyone, which is far better than the alternative.

• Aldridge - Not first ballot but eventually. 5x All-NBA, 7x All Star. 5x All-NBA is typically speaking the bar.

• Wall - No, prime too short

• Blake - Not first ballot but eventually. Again, 5x All-NBA is typically the bar.

• Kemba - Not a chance

• Love - I don’t think so but if he did it would be a long time from now

• Rose - If he ever gets in it’d be a long time from now. His prime is just way too short. He doesn’t have the college career or 6MOY or championship like Walton who is his historic comp.

If it was baseball or football then probably none of these players would get in the HoF but the basketball HOF is different and let’s basically anyone decent in so 80-90% of these players will get in though they are arguably all undeserving.

I think Blake, Love, and Aldridge are guarantees. I’m iffy on Lowry and DeRozan (Lowry def has a better case), and I don’t see a world where John Wall, Boogie, or Kemba are Hall of Famers.

I like the idea of Kemba getting in based on college and pro career, but it seems doubtful. The big east tournament and national tournament run back to back was special.

I think the true locks are Aldridge & Griffin. They has multiple all-star and 5 all-nbas. No one is is a lock.

Lowry, DeRozan, Rose & Love are on the edge. I think Lowry & Love make it cause they have enough all-stars combined with being key players in a championship. DeRozan has enough all-stars, but also longevity and having a lot of points. Rose is probably the most edge case because his MVP is great… but his peak was so short (3 all-stars if far below the standard that is usually let in). If he didnʻt have the MVP he wouldnʻt have a shot. As it is… I have no idea if heʻll make it (but Iʻd say a better than 50:50).

Maybe or probably not? I give these dudes a fair chance but have serious doubts they make it. Kentucky players – Wall & Cousins. The basketball hall of fame is notorious for letting in more liberally than most other hall-of-fames. Which is why the Kentucky teammates have a shot. Cousins only 4 all-stars is bolstered by his 2 all-nba, whereas Wallʻs 5 all-stars (a better number) is boosted by only 1 all-nba, but helpd by his 1 all-defense.

Definite nos: Kemba – 4 all-stars and only that isnʻt enough imo, to get you in. Everyone thatʻs in the hall of fame and has very few all-stars (out of the players) is an international player contributing to the success of his home country. Kemba doesnʻt have that.

Griffin and Derozan

Probably only Derrick Rose, and that’s a probably because the only thing he has going for him is he was the youngest MVP ever. That might be enough though, combined with the cultural impact and giving a city hope that was in despair since MJ retired.

Much as I’d love Kemba to make it, the Hall stopped taking college accolades as seriously due to the founding of the Collegiate Hall of Fame. It’ll help Noah and Brunson, but not Kemba.

From this list Griffin and Rose are the ones who seem a sure thing, however I think the bar is pretty low for the NBA hall of fame. For example Stoudemire just got in (who I adored, no shade!) with 6 all-stars and 5 all nbas, meaning we should probably count Derozan and Aldridge in as well

All of them probably get in, the hall is not hard to get in, the bar is in hell.

Of your list, Lowry is the most likely, Love is 2nd, Blake and Lamarcus might take a couple of ballots tries, DeRozan could go either way, no chance for Cousins, Rose, Kemba or Wall

I feel like 5x all-nba should really be the minimum to make the hall of fame these days. It shows that you were considered at least a top 20 player and respected at your position for a good chunk of time. I know in reality it’s more like 3 with a handful of all-star appearances, but if I had it my way I’d only put in Aldridge and Griffin although neither first ballot. I’d listen to Rose because of the MVP but I’d like to see some longevity. I think that Lowry, DeRozan, Love, and Aldridge, and Griffin will all eventually make it and people like Rose so he’ll probably get in at some point as well.
