The investigation taking a long time is not the same as “buried the worst of it”. I’m absolutely not pro-Silver but I can also understand actually waiting for the investigation to officially complete and weighing all the findings to start dishing out penalties despite it being obvious to everyone that there was some level of circumvention involved. Had they rushed to close the case then we might not have had these additional findings. These only add to the likely penalties ahead and really, isn’t that what most people are rooting for?

No, the real issue was Uncle Dennis making a claim after Aspiration in the bankruptcy. The pictures of him doing something would have helped, but that’s what really got this noticed.
Thing I’m curious about is if these companies actually bothered asking/contacting Kawhi about doing something for the public, or if it is their negligence by not doing anything. If Kawhi or Uncle Dennis denied them for doing anything, showing up for it, or having the company use their name publicly, that is something big, but I would find it shocking if they stopped them for simply making social media post about it

This is a really weird way to think about the whole situation. I guess we shouldn’t care about people breaking the rules to acquire players that they wouldn’t have gotten otherwise and to keep some integrity in the league, only because “it didn’t happen to us”?
The reason I care is that circumventing the cap and receiving a slap on the wrist would allow Ballmer to outspend all the other teams with nefarious means. All the other gms would also be expected to look for endorsment deals for the free agents they want to sign, and no other owner is as cash rich as Ballmer.
