The Pacers winning game 6 really saved his reputation. Haliburton was horrible games 2 and 5 and was largely unimpressive in games 1 and 4. He was on the verge of getting slandered hard until he scored 9 quick points in game 7. Not that we have a team worth any national TV matchups, but the Bucks got either 2 or 3 national TV games for the season, and Giannis’ “homecoming” game is Jan 28th on Amazon Prime at 8:30pm on a Thursday or some shit. One of 3 home games not scheduled at 7:00pm. (1:00pm and 4:30pm on Sundays are the two others.) Such a difference since last season!

On an unrelated hypothetical note, if one were to use a VPN to change their location, is that enough to trick NBA League pass?

Tatum had his injury like 40 days before Haliburton.

Even though they both had surgery performed by the same doctor Tatum had his surgery like 16 hours after his injury. Haliburton had his surgery pretty quickly too but he had to fly out and didn’t get surgery for 24 hours or so. Reading about it, apparently getting the surgery done earlier can make a notable difference for recovery.

Also Tatum likely had a more aggressive rehabilitation schedule considering there was actually hopes of Boston making the playoffs. Indiana was tanking hard and there was zero point for him to make an aggressive push to return later in the season.

Not to mention people tend to heal and respond to rehab, procedures, etc. differently.
