I don’t think Shai shoots enough 3s to peak that high, he’s super consistent because he’s so reliable on 2s though. It’s a similar situation to KD where he’s so reliable to hit 30 because he’s so good at midrange shots and doesn’t rely as much on 3s where the variance comes from

The pro leagues exist outside the NBA. Erman Kunter scored 153 points in the Turkish league. Drazen Petrovic scored 112 in the Yugoslavian league. Obviously these leagues were not as good as the NBA but they played grownups who made a living playing basketball.

Haha, that was actually a huge thing in the early 2000s. In NBA Live 2003, The Lakers were the defending champs, so they needed to be the highest rated team, but they can’t make Kobe and Shaq like 110, so Derek Fisher was inexplicably like a 87.

His defense alone should push him below 85 at the least. He probably has a Luka type of offensive rating that it negates the defensive hole.
Offensive skill sets are more varied, and as a result, the overall is inflated by all those offensive attributes in order for the player to simulate/play properly and be able to score the ball like they can in real life. It’s the same reason every player has a much higher overall than an older 2k or just even loading up an older era. Reeves has a deep bag and as a result his overall is pretty inflated, to be fair he’s an incredibly talented offensive player.
I like Austin and have been a fan of him since he’s joined the association but this year is going to be a wake-up call for him. I think lakers made a mistake giving him a max.
