Devin Booker’s career with the Suns (11 seasons) is longer than Allen Iverson’s career with the Sixers (10.25 seasons). Once the season begins he will have been a Sun longer than Damian Lillard was on the Blazers (first stint) and Russell Westbrook was on the Thunder.
This might be a completely uninteresting fact and are admittedly some random comparisons but I was surprised to see it recently. Something about it feels counterintuitive. Feels like Iverson was with the Sixers longer given how strongly it is remembered. Vince Carter’s Toronto tenure (only 6 full seasons) also has a high memorability vs time spent ratio.
It also speaks to Booker’s tenure with the Suns being somewhat unusually long relative to the amount of team and individual success he’s had. Usually when a team and player can’t get over the hump despite some success, one of the parties initiates a separation much earlier. Examples include Donovan Mitchell, Carmelo Anthony, Trae Young, Anthony Davis, etc. Some last longer and Booker is also at the same point in his career as Damian Lillard, Russell Westbrook, and Bradley Beal were when they requested and/or accepted trades (summer after year 11).
