Yaxel is an X factor for the dubs, with jimmy out, he can get a lot of run. If he’s good, i think ppl are sleeping on the dubs. The big concerns are KP and if he can stay healthy, and dray/curry there too. They could be a little above .500 without jimmy, and a legit team with jimmy, one that can beat anyone.
I have more hope for Yaxel than everything else going right.
I’m hoping for this and I would love it, but have tempered my expectations. Yax played well in Summer League, but that ain’t the NBA. I think we also need to have more guys pitch in. Podz needs to take a big step forward and I’d like to see Will Richard become a 8-10 PPG guy off the bench. Moses was really starting to come on before his injury and I’m afraid that set him back.
Yea i have tempered expectations, mainly cuz how much can you trust porzingis. And butler is out. But if those things go right, and yaxel is good, the dubs are a legit team. Gui Santos emerged last year as a real player. Podz and Melton are solid guards. There’s good depth here. And they lost moody also.

Most advanced stats have him ranked somewhere around the upper 100s for all players, which is considered a functional starter-caliber player, though nothing special.
