Yes, believe it nor not but Charles put in a multi-million dollar bid for the the Nets, then located in New Jersey. The plan was to keep the team in the state but ultimately the winning bid went to Ratner and subsequently Mikhail “Fuck them picks” Prokhorov which eventually landed the Nets in Brooklyn as the perpetual little brother to the New York Knicks. Ironic, considering the history and animosity between the two teams given some of the bullying the Knicks engaged in against the Nets that led to the two refusing to do business with one another until very recently with the Mikal Bridges trade.
