[Highlights] Obligatory MJ offseason compilation post.
Dude constantly doing acrobatic layups with left hand, but according youngins he had no leftie
You were successfully trolled is all.
Ive even heard youngins say he cant dunk like they do now. Like they forgot what the “Air” meant next to his name.
And he was effectively doing it in cardboard shoes for his early career
I had a friend say he was trash his first 4 or 5 years.
I called him out and sent him the basketball reference page.
He took the post down.
I saw an Instagram comment saying he would get smoked in an LA Fitness gym today. The comment had 18k likes
I like how there are no travel violations or gather steps in this clip, like you sometimes see happening in the current NBA.
Yeah mjs handles were actually crazy when you think about the rules and the era he played in. It was peak hand on top of the ball only dribbling and he just had that thang glued to him
I’ll always remember Kenny Smith saying that MJ had perfect fundamentals, that even how he positioned his hands in passing lanes or when he defends players for a steal is “perfect”.
I swear in some other highlight clip you can see he has a move where he palms the ball during a live dribble for just a half-beat to throw a defender’s timing off. It’s not palming like a palming violation today where you put your hand under the ball, but palming like his hands are so goddamned big that he can squeeze it and hold it during a live dribble and put it back down. I’ve never seen anyone else do it and don’t even know how many people can do it.
I’d believe it, and mj’s hands definitely make him stand out among other stars and allow him to do things others just can’t. That and his insane competitiveness of course
He’s the only athlete who looks better irl compared to a video game.
Still the goat.
Always
It’s going to take half a miracle for anyone to surpass him in my mind. He had a fairytale career combined with stats and aura to back it all up.
Beyond the accolades and the pop culture, his game was the best and also looked the best.
Lebron Stan’s can throw analytics at us all day but his game will never be as beautiful as Jordans
And he was a certified assassin. Highlights don’t capture how tough it was to put that Bulls team away.
I just rewatched game 4 and game 6 of the 93 Finals yesterday…
Game 4 Jordan famously has 55 points and the incredibly clutch and 1 on Barkley to put the game away
Game 6 everyone remembers Pax’s shot to close it out, but in the entire 4th quarter the entire (usually very good at closing) Bulls team had scored only 9 points before that shot… All by MJ
Barkley & that Suns team were great and gave the Bulls everything they could handle… But Jordan was just undeniable.
Jordan absolutely demolishes LeBron in analytics. Despite the retirement for 2 years of his prime and a much shorter career, Jordan has 6 of the top 10 seasons ever played by VORP. LeBron has 2. MJs peak will never be matched.
And it’s not even a disservice to LeBron, he might very well be the second best player ever, but the goat is the boogeyman himself.
I wanna be like Mike
I have Bron as goat but i’m mature enough to respect that you have mj as goat.
Lol
whoever won the most is my goat and im not mature enough to accept otherwise
You a big Bill Russell guy then?
No? He hasn’t won the most
u/Delicious-Schedule blocked me. loser mentality. Bill russell has not won the most
He won 11 championships
Not the most
I was there for the 90s, but his 80s highlights are legitimately baffling to me. Layups like Kyrie with the athletic explosiveness of a young D Wade, the face of Anthony Edwards, the hops of Gerald Green, mid range of KD and killer instinct of Kobe all while having the efficiency of SGA while scoring like prime Harden… While having none of these guys to model his game after. This MF is not real.
Just silly. Absolutely ridiculousness.
AAAND one of the most elite defenders in the league
I mean Larry and magic existed and so did Dr J and ‘nique and even before then there was the big O and pistol Pete.
He was definitely doing things that seemed to defy gravity while still having a quality overall game, but every player has their inspirations and role models and some just take it to the next level, or in mjs case, do it with an athleticism, intensity and ruthlessness that hadn’t been seen before.
Imagine being born in 1950 as a basketball fan. You grow up, watching guys like Wilt, Oscar, Elvin, Elgin, Julius, Jerry, Bob, Kareem, George, all the all-time greats. Prolific scorers and athletes.
Then 1984 comes around and in comes Michael Jordan, and he looks like this. Averages 28ppg as a rookie. Gets hurt the following year. Future outlook in the air, was he a star that burned too bright?
No.
He goes on to lead the league in scoring 10 of the next 12 years, winning 6 championships in that span, 6 Finals MVP’s, 2 separate 3-peats. From 1990-1998, his teams never losing 3 consecutive games.
Striking respect that bordered on fear everytime he stepped onto the court. So dominant, his peers sometimes referring to him as Black Jesus. And nobody with a reputation questioned it. Just an understood thing you don’t mess with Mike.
What a fucking blessing man.
Not the 50s, but as a 70’s baby from Chicago - with family season tickets from ‘86 through ‘98 - great times were indeed had.
Craddle dunk the prettiest thing in basketball history
In a recent interview Michael says he doesn’t need our admiration anymore. A rare thing to ever hear. He never really liked being a celebrity, always stuck in a hotel room and couldn’t go anywhere. One time he did go to a casino to have fun it was a huge scandal at the time. He says he’s taken his life back, he’s a private person. You won’t see him on NBA on TNT or calling games on ESPN. Thanks Michael for all you did, enjoy the time you have with your family.
One time? Lmao
He spread that one time over the course of years
I was in my 20s in Atlanta when MJ was in his blast years with the Bulls.
Believe me, he got out and had fun, just with a bunch of ex-cops around him as bodyguards. But he wasn’t staying in his hotel room by any means.
This Michael guy was pretty good at doing the basketball.
When you watch these highlights (believe me, it’s not cliché - you HAD to see it live to really get it) pay attention to how many 1s and 2s he dunked on.
Not many.
He was detonating on 4s and 5s who would be camping at the basket, their only role being to protect the rim and put anyone attacking it on the floor.
3 Stages of MJ with the Bulls:
84-89: “Air” Jordan - offensive machine, defensive monster; unparalleled engine on both ends of the court. Jumps out of reality for no reason, other than he could. You all know the stats. Fun Facts: Led the NBA in total points… as a Rookie, finishing third in PPG behind only Bernard King and Larry Bird. Olympic gold, DPOY, MVP (robbed of at least one)… basically every meaningful individual award one can win as a starter, he won.
90-93: “Mike” - basically unbeatable; still arguably the most athletic, but now with more muscle, a consistent jumper (which teams had to respect, so his first step was probably still the fastest in the league) and a capable supporting cast that grew and battled together. Perennial scoring champion, top 5 in steals, top 2 in blocks (guards). 3x champion, 2x MVP, Olympic gold
95-98: “MJ - the Middy God. Replaced 15-foot takeoffs with an impeccable midrange game and post presence. Genius footwork. Clutch gene mixed with “I’m still better than you”, with a spritz of “decade-plus of experience”. Would still posterize you or reach into his layup aerial bag, just to remind you he could. Still the league’s premier offensive threat and an all-world on-ball and help defender. 3x champ on a team that averaged over 70 wins across two seasons - and a third season with 62 wins, despite their second-best player missing over 30 games. The team’s “falloff” was greatly exaggerated; 2x MVP
All NBA First Team and All Defense First Team… across all of it. Mercy.
Oh… and shoes.
Greatest I’ve seen do it.
Obviously the goat.
For you, yes.
Why are these DeMar DeRozan highlights so low quality
Watched almost every game DeMar played while he was with TO and he doesn’t even come close to MJ lol.
I know it’s funny to go along with this narrative but just you wait until folk start comparing LeBron or Curry to NBA journey men in 30 years time.
Its not a real comparison. It’s just a meme thing
Nah you right. Demar doesn’t come close cause he’s miles ahead of MJ.
lol
genuinely asking you don’t think the same derozan that used to catch bodies in his prime couldn’t do every single thing in this video?
Honestly, and I say this with all sincerity. If you truly believe that, you are an absolute moron.
just bc other players in the 80s couldn’t doesn’t mean plenty of players today couldn’t. A prime demar derozan can do literally everything in this video.
He’s not as fluid as MJ, plus he can’t do the hand fakes like MJ could. Or float like Mike. Basically at best he’s a watered down MJ. But like really watered down
It’s not about him being able to the same thing physically. That’s not my point at all.
That’s MY point though. Physically Demar can do every single thing in this video.
So can James White, Gerald Green, Jamario Moon, Terrence Ross, Desmond Mason, Stromile Swift, Ricky Davis and Corey Benjamin…
They didn’t have a career even close to Mj’s and they don’t have extensive mix tapes that span over a decade of playing.
lmao you’re only proving my point. it’s easier to have a career like that when you’re the only person capable of doing it rather than when every other guy can do it as well.
You think MJ had an easy career and the guys he was playing against weren’t athletic?
The KKKlutch Mafia is here
Thanks for making me spit my drink out from laughing so hard
it’s definitely laughable how easy the average nba player would make majority of these plays look!
You’ll be able to tell the difference once you hit puberty kiddo
DeMar I see it…
Missed the most disgusting dunk in history. Dunking, breaking the glass, walking away while showering the other team in glass.
That was gross hahaha and I’ve never seen that. Thanks for sharing
*RARE*
3:32 is just insane lol.
1:15 - Barkley just says nope.
Get that dick out your mouth
Is it your turn or something?
Nah he’s on LeBron’s balls at the moment
Ah, the Sixers flairs are now all raging LeBron stans because a 42yo has-been has joined their team to ride the coattails of perhaps the most dominant scoring trio in NBA history. Without Bron you are one of the title favourites, with him there is a huge chance he will mess up your chemistry, stunt the growth of guys like Edgecombe and ya’ll might be calling for him to get the hell off your team by mid season.
Hahaha, i appreciate your optimism for us. Ill save this comment for the future.
NPC ass comment
“MJ has no handles” by the way. Nephew ahh takes about the GOAT
If he played in the early 00’s when they relaxed the carry and traveling rules he would’ve been vicious with the handles. He already was when they had to do the “proper” dribbling
He did play in the early 2000s on the Wizards
The first 46 games of 01-02 season he was averaging 25/6/5 and 1.5 steals. He then aggrivated his knee around the all-star game.
His full-season numbers fell to 22.9⁄5.7⁄5.2 in 60 games.
Literally reinvented basketball, what a force of nature
His Highlights always so aesthetically pleasing.
He was not only good, it was always fun to watch.
I think Bob Costas put it perfectly: “Strength is one thing, but lots of guys are strong and lots of guys have skill. Only one guy has this level of artistry.”
MJ has grown men typing original copypastas unironically
he’s mythologized to an unhealthy degree, but it’s always funny to read the pastas
Those hangtime antics are mesmerizing every time
Just born to hoop
The greatest of all time
Watch carefully nephews. This is real ball
Violence and finesse combined.
The man gravity forgot
This Jordan guy was a PROBLEM 😤😤😤
Why not just link the source? It’s the official NBA channel…

I’m not a lebron hater by any means,
but I don’t think lebron even has one highlight of him gliding through the air artistically like jordan did.
IMO has something to do with body type, lean and skinny just looks better in the air than a bulldog dunking.
And the crazy thing is just how strong he was with that body type. Just a gifted athlete with the work ethic to match.
https://youtu.be/B0Dh1mAnt4s
This is pretty much a Lakers layup video and its from 3 years ago.
All I wonder is how much bigger his hands are even compared to today’s players.
That wrap around cradle dunk is still so insane to me
GOAT.
His layup package was just insane.
MJ was just trying shit and it all worked.
Shai’s contested layup mastery and hand control, paired with Ant’s insane bounce and Kyrie’s handles. Dude will never be replicated in one player
More like obligatory karma farm.
No highlight wearing 45. Or did i miss it?
these are just average ant highlights today
MJ would be so good in today’s league. Like prime Paul George with slightly worse 3pt shooting
so not good
Jordan had incredible highlights. He dominated with arrogance, swagger, and charisma, and people loved him for it.
But guess what? LeBron did that too.
And a LeBron highlight reel is arguably even more impressive because he’s doing the same things at 6’9”, 250 pounds.
So if you want to understand what LeBron James really is, watch this Jordan highlight reel and imagine that same kind of player also being an elite center.
Lebron is miles behind Jordan when it comes to aesthetic and the beauty of playing.
I hate this discussion because it feels like I’m downplaying Lebron, while I am not. He is one of the greatest. But to say what you said is a complete lie.
Not even Kyrie Irving layups are as beautiful as Jordan layups. And there is a ton of factors for that. Vertical, a hand even bigger than Kawhi’s that enabled him to palm the ball, psychopath mindset, body control while in the air, etc…
LeBron is a great basketball player, but that crab walk doesn’t exactly compare.
Kyrie’s on-ball movement must be up there, though. It’s art in motion.
That’s literally just your opinion. The game is beautiful to people for different reasons.
he aint doing half this stuff, what in the hell are you talking about….LeBron’s game is just bully ball, not aesthetic in the least, and he aint doing back to the basket layups with regularity. Their games couldn’t be any more different.
I’d argue that MJ is more impressive in this sense because LeBron got to watch MJ. Nobody was doing what MJ was doing when he did it.
Also as impressive as it is that LeBron did what he did with his 6-9 frame, MJ being an average sized guard who didn’t win the genetic lottery is just as impressive.
“MJ didn’t win the genetic lottery” lol gtfo
6-6 215. Literally the avg sized shooting guard.
The most athletic shooting guard ever.
Massive hands. Long wingspan. I think he did pretty damn well genetically.
LeBron has played the 5, and done a serviceable job filling in from time to time, sure.
But to claim he was ever an “elite center” is nonsense.
LeBron is anti charisma
What highlight reel? The ones where it’s just nothing but flops?
THAT is who I want to represent the beautiful game of basketball. Not a stiff train wreck.
Agreed, definitely not LePhony 😂
lol bronstans always on patroll for their king Leflop, downvoting to protect their love interest
Or maybe majority of the NBA watchers just feel that your opinions are ridiculous and you guys are clowns
go hug your lebarbie doll child…
Who cares what low iq watchers like you feel lol majority of nba players chose MJ and Kobe over Leflop. It’s not even a debate. You guys just parrot the media like mk ultra victims
Watch and learn or remain ignorant. Choice is yours Kobe > Lebron https://youtu.be/4T4BiuPF2k4 Jordan >> Lebron https://youtu.be/lscUBqmIU1o
Who cares what low iq watchers like you feel lol
Yeah im sure that its the 95% of the nba fanbase like me that are low iq and you and your “winning mentality” boys are the real basketball savants lmfao.
I mean hey maybe you do got a point, Lebron wasn’t smart enough to go beg the NBA commissioner to ban zone defense, so clearly MJ has that one over him.
Nor does he have a winning record over Denver, Colorado hotel workers like Kobe Bryant. Maybe if he shot chucked more, shot 38% from the field and backpacked his way to 3 rings he could have caught Kobe.
Very sad.
See you’re incredibly low iq. Zone defense is used 5% of the time in modern nba because it’s not really effective as you think. And Jordan was talking about European zone lmao not this wide open paint zone with 3 seconds in the key the nba uses.
You Leflop stans are hella weird, Kobe’s wife got over the infidelity but you guys act like it was you in Colorado with Kobe 🤣
You’re so slow you don’t even realize the nba commissioner admitted to changing the rules to favor perimeter offense after Jordan because no one could do what he did. 🤣🫵
Watch the videos or remain a gullible 🐑
And Jordan was talking about European zone lmao not this wide open paint zone with 3 seconds in the key the nba uses
Sounds to me like he was the GOAT at getting exceptions lol.
Kobe’s wife
The one he started dating when she was 17 and he was 20+? Lmfao
infidelity
You mean rape?
act like it was you in Colorado with Kobe
Not really lol but i know you probably wish it was you in place of that hotel worker that day hahaha.
Such a shame, the helicopter had a higher FG% shooting his head out the window than your “GOAT” ever did shooting a basketball. Now you’d have to die and go down to hell, to fulfill your fantasies.
Damn this bronsexual is hurt, your points don’t even make sense lol. Go sniff your lePookies jock to calm down
Awww Rapey Bryant stan had no comebacks. Its ok buddy, maybe if enough time passes your GOAT’s pedophilia and rape activities get forgotten. Then all you would need to defend will be his shot chucking and psychotic manchild lashouts because Jeremy Lin outplayed him.
🤣 okay BotAndNPC69
the sub is full of Klutch bots….pay no attention to the downvotes
Lebron’s girlfriend Rich Paul and Klutch Sports is behind most of these accounts/bots.
But sure, there’s some Labarbie doll girlie going emo here XDDDD
