Former NBA player DeQuan Jones suffers Hayward-like injury overseas
As someone who saw the Hayward injury live as a 12-year old Celtics fan, fucking hell, it’s very similar, hope he’s alright, sending my prayers
fuck im old
I’ve stopped frequenting this sub when I realized it was fully of 13–23 year olds
a) 12-23 is a big ass range
b) you are… on this sub right now! during peak off-season!
We all are, damn.
wait what happened to him exactly
ha ha, what’s a 15 year old doing posting on reddit.
Uhhh….you do understand how long ago the Hayward injury was right?
That’s the joke.
Ohh, my bad
Trauma for u too
Oh that injury was fucking traumatizing as a young celts fan, seeing his leg bend backwards was disturbing as hell
Did they replay it on the scoreboard?
Idk, I saw it live, and it was horrifying
Good thing his physio was gonna prescribe prayers for his career altering injury.
I do wonder if instinct says to pick it up like that. To me the first thing I would do too is grab it and at least try protect it in some weird way
I broke my leg in a really similar way with my leg folded and pinned under myself and my foot fully rotated to the side. Resulted in a torsion fracture (a bone break by twisting). Looks like what happened in the vid.
The first thing I did was lift my leg up into the air and beg someone to pull on it. I don’t know if I realized it was broken, but I knew (and heard, holy shit) something was wrong. It just immediately felt like I wanted to reset the leg.
Pulling on it was just instinctively the first thing I wanted done. Which someone obliged. Which, surprise, didn’t help.
I about to pass out.
Brother I haven’t even watched the video, just went straight to the comments, and this dudes comment made me have to sit down
Lmao
Well I do hope your leg is better now and didn’t suffer from the pull
Thank you. I don’t think having someone pull on it actually made a difference either way, in retrospect. It was probably a good thing that there were a few people in the room that stopped that from going on too long.
This was almost a decade ago, and it very rarely matters much anymore unless I hit the metal plate that’s still in my leg on something. Or if I sleep on it funny sometimes.
Otherwise, I feel like I had full functionality and strength somewhere between 6 to 9 months after surgery.
Yeah, that’s horrifying, jesus.
Not sure if it matters at that point
100% just what I think i wojld do instinctively
While not the same thing, whenever I would get leg cramps while asleep or on the bed, my body would instinctively try to lean back and grab my leg just like what he’s doing here in the video
Like lift it upwards without thinking, it’s like your body wants to move like that
you would be in shock and trying to draw attention to your fucked up injury for medical assistance, and since your foot is fucked up you cant move it so you hold it up yourself to see what is going on.
Dak Prescott’s immediate reaction to a similar break was to grab his leg and slam his foot into the ground lol
I had a similar injury to my left leg in adult league soccer. My first instinct was to immediately hop off the field, get away from everyone, and drive myself to the hospital lol (it was nearby).
For some reason in the moment I mainly just felt embarrassed that I got injured, even though I was tackled.
Lol I feel you. First time I broke my left arm (ulna) I was riding my bike to teach an undergraduate bio lab on campus as I was a masters student att. Sidewalk splits in front of the frats and sororities otw, there was gravel in the middle and turning at speed made my road bike go down, I hit my head, arm/hand, and knee.
Walked the busted bike the rest of the way to the science building, popped into my lab coordinator’s office and told her I crashed and asked if she could start the class lol. Went to bathroom and cleaned off the blood, tried extending my arm and couldn’t so I knew I was boned.
Came back to the class and finished the lab. I don’t think I told my students that I had broken my arm lol but I definitely didn’t use it. After lab I walked home with the bike then drove to the hospital one handed. Thanks for reading if you made it to the end lol
Nothing like being upset at being called for a foul while a guys leg just exploded
Initiates contact, leans forward under a guy in the air, flops and acts like he hurt his head when it didn’t even touch the ground. Rolls around instead of getting the fuck out of the way when someone’s actually injured
This x 100
He didn’t know the other player was actually seriously injured. Flopping for a call is always pathetic, and he looked extra stupid there, but I bet he feels terrible and this moment is going to stay with him for the rest of his life.
FTA is smiling
Embiid Special
Magic fan
Pistons fan. And i dont recall any magic player ending another player career like Embiid did with Danny Green. And didn’t Pistons have Isiah Thomas and Bill Laimbeer lmao
He’s in fucking shock dude lol. He was playing up the contact out of habit or training, but look at his reaction as it dawns on him what’s happened. He didn’t even cause the injury, just contact sport things.
I mean from the video the flopping around like that definitely seems to have caused him to land on him unnecessarily. The angle and everything is unfortunate but wtf was bro doing
DeQuan was the one called for the foul.
That’s staying NSFW blurred
Yeah don’t do it I regret it
Paul George and Gordon were enough for me. I still have nightmares about just rolling my ankles hooping back in the day.
Fuck that.
Hayward, PG and Kevin Ware had the worst breaks I’ve ever seen
This one is up there. Terrible
Shaun Livingston was really hard to watch as well.
I think Kevin Ware’s is the one that stick with me the most.
I literally can’t believe they replayed the bone sticking out his leg fuck we all got traumatized
Garbajosa was pretty bad, too. Ended his NBA career as well, although I believe he continued to play in Europe afterward.
Kenyon Martin and Paul George were bad also
Dude in white faking beside a dude with a broken leg is Wild
Ooof when the foot is just dangling like that lifeless 🤮
Wow a defensive flop really ended this dude’s career. Fuck that guy.
Damn I thought he was just gonna find out he was having another daughter when he really wanted to have a son. That was way worse.
Was the other guy flopping
BGR? Alwayss
Brutal, hope he recovers well
Oh damn, I did not like seeing that.
Oh man, that’s hard to watch. I can’t imagine how painful that was.
I am not opening that
Best wishes to him
Did the commentators really just say they think he might have dislocated his ankle? , and then follow up with ,
yeah don’t think he’s going to be able to play anymore tonight?? Wow
I’m not clicking that
I’ve dislocated both knees, my right ankle, and my left shoulder.
Fuck joint injuries.
Damn.
In b4 deletion
Not watching
Did he land wrong on an alley oops or dunk?
opposing player landed on top of Jones’ leg as both fell after a foul
The screams bro
As someone who saw Gordon’s one live - do I even want to open the video?..
Holy shit.
Every time something like this happens, the teammates walk away. Like bro, if I’m going through some real traumatic life altering injury shit and you walk AWAY from me, we’re no longer friends.
Seem like it would have wrecked his knee too being bent that way.
Damn looked like he tweaked the ankle already bringing the ball up, then tried to do some wild spin shit and ankle gave out more.
Nope not watching. Have a good day.
Meanwhile the guy in the white jersey rolling around in pain and then just proceeds to get up… so fucking frustrating.
You know the injury is so bad when this post is even labelled as nsfw. I hope he recovers well.
I’m not clicking that, I winced just seeing the words Hayward like injury
dammit man NLEX was playing really well with Alapag in his 1st season back in the PBA now w/ NBA coaching experience…rough injury for Jones after a dead play :(
So bad even his teammates avoided him :(
PBA players gettimg famous because of being dumb as f’n imbecilles. TNT player getting Pee-noice pride getting them famous for being reckless stupid m’fers.
