What initially sounded like an almost impossible transfer attempt has now been confirmed by Nikola Jokic’s agent.
Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos recently revealed that he made a serious attempt to bring the Denver Nuggets superstar to Athens, claiming that an offer was presented both to Jokic and his NBA team.
Now, Jokic’s longtime agent, Misko Raznatovic, has confirmed that Giannakopoulos was telling the truth.
“What Giannakopoulos said is true,” Raznatovic told Athletiko.
The confirmation comes after Giannakopoulos discussed his long-standing admiration for Jokic during an appearance with Euro Insiders.
Giannakopoulos insisted that his pursuit of the Serbian superstar was not simply another joke or social-media post, revealing that Panathinaikos actually attempted to make the seemingly impossible move happen.
“I made a very serious offer,” Giannakopoulos said, adding that the proposal was made to both Jokic and the Nuggets but was rejected.
