I’m just gonna say this - if you were not around for LeBron’s Game 6 against Boston you will never truly understand what was at stake. I’m not even joking, the man’s entire legacy was on the line. If he lost this series, with no exaggeration, there would have been no coming back. Remember this was after 2011 choke job against the Mavs.

2018 LeBron was already considered one of the greatest of all time.

2007 he was 22 years old just getting his footing in the league.

As a major LeBron fan who watched his entire career, that 2012 game 6 is clear cut his most dominating performance I have ever seen.

He proved everyone wrong and did what no one thought he could do. Come up clutch and win the game entirely by himself.

This might seem like hyperbole but you truly had to be there to understand.

2016 nba finals game 6 is underrated. Was a pseudo-blowout so often forgotten.

25 straight. 29 of the last 30 can’t be topped. No one has ever done that and it waa against a defensive juggernaut Pistons team that won the chip two years prior against the Lakers who had just won three straight.

Bizarrely no one mentions game 6 and game 7 of the 2013 Finals against Spurs. LeBron scored or assisted almost every point in the 4th to comeback against the Spurs until the Ray 3 that sent it to overtime. Then LeBron, in the final minute of game 7, stole the ball, hit a jumper over Kawhi, and hit two free throws to win the championship. It never gets talked about due to dumbasses saying Ray saved LeBron. As if it never happened.

I has always thought that 2012 Game 4 against Indiana is underrated.

While it doesn’t have the stakes of lose and go go.e as Game 6 against Boston did, had they lost the “break up the Heat” chatter would have been enormous.

Plus a stat line of 40/18/9 feels completely absurd.

It has to be the game 6 against Celtics.

The narrative was that, ever since the Big 3 Celtics was formed, LeBron had lost to them almost everytime they met and even after going to Miami, they still haunt LeBron. (Miami beat Boston 4-1 in their first year together) After choking away yet another finals LeBron was on the verge of being eliminated from the playoffs by the Celtics again. Celtics were up 3-2 and all the talks about LeBron choking started piling up.

He came, dominated and single handedly pushed game 7.

He loses that game, he isnt able ti salvage Miami situation and his legacy is done.

2012 ECF Game 6 against Boston. When he ascended to his planet-killing form and became the Juggernaut. Dread it, run from it, LeDestiny arrives all the same.

2018 Finals G1 is of course up there. Maybe the most perfect game of high-stakes basketball ever played. But the entire 2018 playoff run by Bronulus is beyond sublime.

Don’t forget some excellent regular season games. His 61 point game for Miami against lowly Charlotte in I believe 2012-13. Complete domination like a T2 Terminator. An asshole-blistering performance (MKG got his asshole blistered fosho in that game). Also a game in the 2006-2009 range where he went berserk from 3 against Milwaukee. Cleveland’s announcing team (pigs shit on my grave for forgetting their names, both have since passed but both were legends) ascended commentating that flurry.

And I say all this as a recovering Bron hater who still thinks he’s probably 2nd or 3rd all-time behind MJ and perhaps Kareem (only adding this to combat the Klutch Swarmbots)

I have that game 5 in Detroit. He scored 29 of Cleveland’s final 30 points, and 48/9/7 in the heart of the dead ball era. He was unstoppable at getting to the basket.

In terms of narrative and context, it’s 2012. I have watched Bron since his rookie debut and still never seen him look so determined as he did that night. It forever altered the course of his basketball life. Legendary moment.

But in terms of pure basketball excellence, it’s 2016 game 6. That was LeBron’s final form. So close to perfection.

2018 Raptors game 2 - THE LeBronto game. Lots of the most greatest have been posted, but this one is different. The others are the amazing heroic efforts, but this one is like a villain’s performance where he’s crushing the souls of his opponents like he’s a goddamn Thanos.

Don’t know if I could pick one but when I think of his great games I remember the most, it’s 2012 game 6 vs Boston, 2018 game 1 vs GSW, 2006 game 6 vs Detroit and then basically the last 3 games of 2016

I’m going to throw one in the ring I don’t see people talk about as much; Game 6 in the 2018 ECF against Boston. I know that team was young, but damn they were deep, and Kevin Love leaves that game in like the second quarter. Sure, is his defense in this game AS GOOD as some of the games he had in Miami? Probably not, but his offense is just ridiculous. Going 5 for 7 from 3, including back to back shots from deep to essentially put the game away late in the 4th. Getting a block then running down the court and going for the easiest layup you’ve ever seen in your life. I mean, his skill set was just sooooo deep. He’s Sisyphus pushing the boulder up the hill, except the boulder is a giant basketball.

That Detroit game was when I knew he was on another level. He probably had better performances but that’s the one I’ll remember the most.

The “LeBronto” game vs the Raptors. Bro was just out there lighting their asses up with fadeaways. It was awe-inspiring to witness.

Game 6 Boston should be first for what was at stake but if you ever just wanted to watch one individual absolutely destroy an entire teams identity, morale, hopes and dreams - LeBronto was it. I have never seen an individual suffocate a team like that. I almost shed a tear for Toronto when I watch recaps of that series. I never do but I get close

There’s so many, but one that stuck out to me the most was in 2015 Finals when Love and Kyrie were out - Lebron was still on a fucking mission trying whatever he possibly could to win. It was insane. Same in 2018 finals, but 2015 he really had nobody on that team other than Delly and Mozgov (which is saying a fuckton).

2007 ECF was his statement game. The first game where he really staked his claim as an eventual goat. Transcendent performance .

2012 ECF was the highest stakes game of his career. Truly never seen so much “legacy” on the line before. It was all anyone talked about and he delivered BIG TIME. 

2018 Finals… as someone who watched his whole career this was his pinnacle as far as performance. The end result wasn’t the best, but I’ve never seen him at this level. The control he had on the entire game with 4-5 other HOF on the floor was INSANE. 

I think best performance and best game are kind of different. I’m not sure if it makes sense, but for me when I see performance, I’m thinking a game like 2018 game 1 finals where LeBron was bonkers but didn’t win, or game 1 vs the magic on 09, or his 61pt game against the Bobcats.

When we talk about his best game, I say it is without a doubt 2012 game 6 Boston (it’s kinda funny you need the year here because LeBron had a game 6 Boston game again in 2018). There isn’t even a need to explain why if you saw/heard it live or saw the morning highlights of the game.

Its game 1 2018 finals. Single best performance at the highest level against the best team ever. I will forever resent George Hill and JR Smith

I was at that Detroit game, and that was something else. I don’t think I’ll ever see something so impressive live as LeBron’s 25 point stretch.

But I think the Boston game was better.

He had more meaningful, clutch, and statistically impressive games, but I still feel like LeBronto is the most dominating performance I’ve ever seen in basketball. It was downright absurd.

It’s game 6 at Boston and we all know what the pressure and implications that game had. The dude had 30 points in the first half going ¹²⁄₁₃ (92%) and making 12 straight after missing his first. It’s the greatest half any player has ever played probably and then you throw the pressure and moment. It’s not even close to me. Also the way he was beating them, so savagely. He wasn’t known as a jump shooter and so the 6’9 260 freight train that you have to make you beat you through his shot just turns into Micheal Jordan.

Has to be game 6 vs Boston for anyone who has watched his whole career. That was probably the single most “legacy on the line” game that I can remember for any player ever, and he responded with an all-time performance.

No player in history had as much pressure to win than LeBron in gm 6 2012. Game of his life.

The 2012 Game 6 against Boston was definitely his best legacy moment where he got over the hump.

Best I saw was the 2014-15 season finals. The first time he played GSW. Cavs lost, but I actually watched LeBron look like a real deal GOAT contender in that series. I don’t know his exact avg off the top of my head, but seemed like dude had like 40 15 & 12 in almost every game. Not a single performance…but I thought worth mentioning.

Probably not his best performance but game 1 of the 2018 finals was something to behold. Lebron knew the probability of winning that series and knew to even have the slightest chance they would have to win game 1. That single game was the most complete version of LeBron or a basketball player I have ever seen. That’s where the experience and natural ability and talents culminated into an absolute monster. Kyrie leaves the Cavs LeBron says so what I’ll do it by myself. That’s why the JR smith error will always be etched in history because although the probability was astronomical there’s a timeline where LeBron wins that series.

This probably isn’t his greatest game ever, but it is one that will always stick in my memory. It was gave 5 against Indiana in 2012 in the second round. The Pacers were up 2-1. It was his second year in Miami after they lost in the Finals his first year, so he still didn’t have a championship and there was a lot of pressure on him. The whole team had been kind of flat in Game 3 and Bosh was injured. There was legitimately some adversity for a 2nd round game.

On top of that, the Pacers started the game up 9-0. From there, Lebron just seemingly decided he was going to take over. I vividly remember him taking Paul George into the left block possession after possession after possession. I went back to the PBP of the game to see if I was remembering correctly. From down 9-0, the next possessions went: Lebron dunk, Lebron assist, Lebron assist, Lebron assist, Lebron layup on post-up, Lebron layup on post-up, Lebron fouled on post-up. By the end of Q1, he had 9-4-3. He finished the game with 40-18-9. They won the next three to close out Indiana in 6 and obviously went on to win the title. I think it all started when they were down 9-0 and he decided he was personally taking the game over.

Man I understand the debates Bron vs Jordan, the hate he can bring to the table, the endless debates about his 2011 choke in the Finals, but talk about a storybook career from Bron. I am a Bron stan as much as I’m a Federer and Schumacher fan but his career has been a whole effing film and still to be continued. It will feel empty in 2 years.

This is why the Harden stans need to wake the F up. Notice all these replies are about lebron in the key playoffs games, even mentioning a loss.  If you do the same exercise for Harden it’s gonna be some regular season 60pt triple double or some crazy ⁵⁰⁄₁₅-²⁰⁄₁₅-20 whatever those numbers are etc. Nothing great came in the playoffs. 

Not saying Harden is anywhere near lebron’s level, but it’s the #1 reason lebron would not consider the Cavs and play with him.
