Jokic can definitely snag a fourth as long as he’s healthy and has a good season, I would say Giannis but I think his time is up for MVP-winning. Wemby and SGA are also obviously up there.

If the Spurs become a dynasty  with 3+ titles and Wemby is the #1 or #2 player in the league each year for the next decade i think he has a great chance but I dont think anyone else currently playing is going to get to 4 MVPs.

It will take a special player on a special team because voter fatigue and bias is a real thing when it comes to voting for the MVP. If it wasn’t, Bron should’ve had more MVP’s as he was the clear cut best player in the league for a good 8 year stretch

If anyone does it’s Jokic or Wemby. Voter fatigue is brutal though, modern MVPs feel like limited-edition sneakers.

Voter fatigue didn’t feel like a thing 20yrs ago. It’s hard to see it now.

Winning multiple MVPs is about overwhelming statistical dominance, while also winning a lot of reg. season games. You have to be the best and top your own record multiple times and also be sognificantly ahead of the curve. 

MJ outscored everyone, year after year. Lebron was averaging 27-7-7 in a league where the best scorer could only score 25, and if they did, they significantly fell behind in assists and/or rebounds. A few years later, Lebron stopped being so statistically dominant, and KD, Russ, Harden, Steph, Giannis and the rest started getting to the top of the statistical mountain. Jokic became the first to get close to averaging a triple double since Russ, but he also did it while winning a lot of games, unlike Russ who looked like stat padding. 

I think while Wemby can do it, more likely he’ll lock down the DPOY. He could probably be the first ever to win 5 or more

Either SGA or Jokic could. Jokic needs a better team around him. SGA needs to have another historic run where the Thunder appear unstoppable. That’s possible without injuries. He’s also young enough that he has a few years to make that happen.

I think Jokic will get one more. I don’t think Wemby will have enough fully healthy and completely dominant years to win 4 MVP’s but if he did do it it wouldn’t be totally shocking

Jokic just needs one more. If SGA and/or Wemby have an injury plagued season (SGA did have his problems with plantar fasciitis a few years ago), #4 could go to the big Joker. SGA could just keep dominating as well, he does not look to be slowing down yet (just turned 28!), he’s probably next most likely.

Unless the 65 game rule is removed, Wemby seems a bit iffy to pile up 4 MVPs given how conservative they should be with any injuries to him given his massive frame and the really bad history of people that size.

Because this voting has too become a media-narrative-driven debate, that is full of personal interests (agents, media partners etc), we won’t see four or more - unless the NBA culture leaves the FOMO-Twitter-era where box score watchers and stands are dominating a public debate.

Also that’s not a NBA exclusive situation. Our public debates, the way we talk about others / with each other, the way we look at things to compare, how we consume things, the way we value certain aspects of (social) life and in the (corporate) world, are toxic and heading the wrong way in almost all regards.

With health, Wemby has a legitimate shot, especially if Jokic slows down in the next few years and the Thunder don’t have such a deep team (which is what took away Jokic’s chance the past 2 years).

Jokic is never gonna have better than what he just did recently without win it…30 ppg triple double leading the league in assists and rebounds…the only way he ever gets a chance again is if he’s a top 2 seed

Since they objectively robbed Joker of a fourth, it will have to be the narrative’s chosen one as the face of the league. Whoever that is.

I really don’t care. I think the award is practically meaningless. Jordan and LeBron should both have 10+ each. Joker should have 5.

He may start to get voter fatigue but I also think that many voters follow a simple criteria that is just “best player on best team”, and there’s a pretty good chance OKC will have the best record in the league again
