Joined a small company and got a big slice of it when Gates gave him 8% of the company when they incorporated because Ballmer’s (and others’) profit share was out of control.

That 8% (which shrank over time) is responsible for 99% of his wealth. He was there for a year when he got it and was a product manager at his previous company.

I think he clearly thinks he can do what he wants now with his wealth, but I’ve never seen anything to suggest he’s some evil ghoul who harmed people left and right along the way.

Could definitely see how that is a perception from a Western conference team, but the Raptors were consistently top 4 in the East for 5ish years and had one of the deepest teams in the league during that stretch, mainly from drafting/developing. The glaring flaw in the roster was no real #1 which kawhi filled perfectly.

And great, he should be investigated. But it stays away from that very confusing and true fact. Aspiration owed the Clippers money, and they paid the Clippers.
