Here’s some statistical/award/leader milestones that we are likely to see next season:

Nikola Jokic is 11 triple doubles away from tying Russell Westbrook for the all-time career triple doubles record. Even if Russ might sign somewhere and get 1 or 2 off the bench (he’s had 10 in the last 2 seasons), he’s not going to be able to stave off Jokic who has gotten 25+ in 4 straight years, and is rarely injured. Based on their respective paces from last year, Jokic is likely to tie and pass Russ around December ‘26 or January ‘27. He’s also way too far ahead of any active player to not end up no1 at the end of the year. Less likely but still possible with a deep playoff run is him grabbing the lead from Magic Johnson for most playoff triple doubles. He’s 7 behind right now, and has recorded a triple double in almost exactly a third of his playoff games over the last 4 seasons.

Victor Wembanyama has 3 blocks titles in 3 seasons in the NBA. As blocks weren’t recorded officially until 1973-74, the official record for most seasons leading the league in blocks per game is 4, co-held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Mark Eaton and Marcus Camby. Wemby can join this group even if he misses time. The minimum games played requirement is 58, but even if he’s under that, if he’s far enough ahead of anyone else that his total divided by 58 is still better than anyone else’s average per game, he would get, as was the case in his sophomore year.

Kevin Durant is 1,047 points away from passing Kobe Bryant for 4th on the all-time scoring list, which he should get comfortably if he’s relatively healthy. A healthy 2nd round run would also give him a decent chance at top-5 on the playoff scoring list, he’s currently 164 behind Duncan and 242 behind Shaq.

Stephen Curry is likely to enter the top-15 on the point leaderboards, although the exact number he needs will depend on what happens with Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan who are both ahead of him currently.

LeBron James is 111 rebounds away from joining the all-time top-20 in career regular season rebounds, which is practically guaranteed. This would, of course, make him the only player in the top-20 in points, rebounds and assists. He’s also just 77 assists away from passing Jason Kidd for 3rd on the all-time assists leaderboard. A healthy season gives him a chance at passing CP3 for 2nd on that list, he’d need 536 assists this season, which is less than he dished out in 2023-24 and 2024-25.

LeBron is also just 29 steals away from passing Gary Payton for 5th all-time in steals.

A Philly Finals run would give LeBron a chance to pass Jerry West for most Finals points ever. He’s a 117 behind which is 23.4 ppg over a 5 game series, 19.5 ppg over 6 games or 16.7 ppg over 7 games.

James Harden is 189 assists away from joining LeBron in the top-10 for all-time assists, which is basically a lock. He’s also just 10 assists away from top-5 for playoff assists, and 40 away from 4th place. A long playoff run also gives him a shot at top-5 in playoff steals, he’s 26 behind Stockton currently and had 31 in last year’s playoffs. He also needs just one 50-point game to break the tie with Kobe and take sold ownership of the 3rd place for most ever (he had one in each of the last 2 seasons).

Mikal Bridges’ current iron man streak of 638 games played consecutively is the 8th longest ever. If he maintains it for the entire season, he’ll end the season in the top-5 ever.

Luka Doncic has led the league in PPG in his last two full seasons (‘26 and ‘24). Another scoring title would make him the 10th player ever with at least 3. Another season of 33+ ppg would make him just the 3rd player ever to reach that mark in 3 separate seasons, alongside MJ and Wilt.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka are both threats to enter the top-10 all-time most 50-point games. They have 9 each and would need 2 more to tie Allen Iverson for 10th. Luka needs to hit 60+ to enter the top-5 all-time in 60-point performances with 4.

Rudy Gobert is looking to become the 6th player ever to make 10 All-Defensive teams. He’s only missed it once in the last 9 years. A first team selection would tie him for most ever with 9.
