2 years ago, Pablo Torre (as a sixers fan) expresses his discontent about The Process and its lack of success.
NBA starting the Pablo smear campaign, smh
If this is the worst they got on Pablo bro is silent squeaky clean
They’re going through his every movement from the past 5 years via Flock data as we speak.
Tasked and entire data center worth of AI computing just to disseminate the footage probably.
They probably got a Microsoft data centre for free to do that from a donor named Beve Stallmer.
Gonna catch him next to a watermelon and arrest him
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FITGFE8XIAAXFOk.jpg
If a Pablo falls in an Asperation forest, does he make a sound?
He’s got tons of fan boys ready to defend him regardless
He needs to be defended?
If you think what he’s done warrants attack that needs defending then your brain rot is terminal.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he has more aces in the hole should they go after him.
[deleted]
They play the long game. It’ll be something 10 years from now.
going to be a leak soon of pablo putting mayo on his hamburger at a BBQ.
Lol I wouldn’t be surprised if some PR firm did get paid to do a Reddit smear campaign. It’s not like it hasn’t been done before on other people.
It’s not like Balmer has “fuck you” money to spend … oh what he does!?
Idk what the smear is they still haven’t won shit
And based on some of the replies on this thread the fans are eating this up. Lol
For real though, this just benefits him more than it hurts.
Suppose I told you that… that everything that happened there… the threats, the clippers’ warnings, their last minute intervention, suppose I said that all of that… was staged. That it was a kind of charade. That it was fake. What do you say?
Wut
Clippers flair with Raptors username this guys lost it
It’s an edited quote from the movie Eyes Wide Shut. One of the members of the secret society says this to Tom Cruise’s character (but not about the Clippers obviously lol)
Apparently, it’s a quote from Eyes Wide Shut
Suppose I told you that you dont need so many ellipses
Man I’d say you need to crack a window or something, you’re mouthbreathing too much carbon dioxide
Yeah I don’t think adding LeBron was ever a part of the process
Seriously. It’s not like the process has really worked. I mean the Celtics gave up Brown cause of analytics. What this also part of the process?
The process didn’t work cuz it was abandoned
It was shot down by Adam Silver
The process ended once they let prime Jimmy Butler go
It ended when the NBA forced Sam Hinkie out and installed a league stooge in his place
Find a new slant
Shoutout Brett Brown
It didn’t work because they drafted very poorly. Embiid was the only one worth anything (in the long run).
The process worked. No stategy can guarantee you to be the one winning in the end, only getting you close, and thanks to the collection of assets obtained in only 2.5 years of Process, Philly managed to be at least a borderline contender for half a decade despite taking multiple “window-closing” events in a row.
Borderline contenders actually make it out of the second round
Hang the “borderline contender” banner.
It’s amazing how the reverence for branded tanking has persevered. Real Malcolm Gladwell shit
The tank started when their best player and a first round draft pick was traded for Andrew Bynum. Vucevic was in that trade too and he was getting playoff minutes for the 2-seed three months ago.
Hinkie didn’t make that trade. In fact he told them not to do it, and when they saw he was right, they hired him a year later to clean up the mess. Presti has tanked 4 seasons, twice tanking back-back years.
Joel Embiid was hurt for two seasons. Ben Simmons, the basketball player and not the fisherman, missed his entire first year too.
Is that more or less prestigious than LA’s “most competitive sweep” banner? I can’t decide.
“Tanking works” is a better way of putting it. The Process did not work better than the Bucks/Celtics/Knicks/Heat (and a myriad of other teams) not tanking and building winning cultures through free agency or late lottery picks or another team’s lottery picks.
This is true, mostly because of terrible GMing though. The performance at GM every year between Hinkie getting forced out and Morey were terrible, just straight dog water. Even Morey had a few boneheaded mistakes.
How do you miss on TWO number 1 overall picks? How do you fumble re-signing prime Jimmy Butler? How do you spend like a 100 million between Horford and Tobias Harris?
The best example of the process working is OKC.
This. The entire idea of the Process™ was about hypertanking to assemble a superteam through one’s own picks. The final result was a run-of-the-mill rebuild. Therefore the Process is a failure, simple as.
Celtics gave up brown more to a hard cap and cheap private equity owners who will run your organization into mediocrity
LeProcess
Lebron was the “Break glass and hope for a miracle” button
The Process era should have dead the second Ben Simmons left the team
And then he did exactly what Pablo is whining for, averaged 33 and 10 against the Knicks and still lost in 6 because the team was ass outside of him and Maxey.
Tobias Harris had 9 per game that series. 0 points on two shots in game 6. Max contract.
AND Embiid had fucking Bell’s palsy coming off a knee injury
Tobias Harris over me!!
Tobias Harris took zero charges as a Sixer. I will always hate him
Had Sixers keep Butler and trade both Harris and Ben Simmons, they’d make past second round.
If they didn’t have Harris & Simmons and never made it past the second round, I’d feel much better than now. Those teams should have gotten to the finals. They had the talent.
Those two just didn’t care, they didn’t try.
Click click
Tobias being shit that series was especially hilarious considering the following year the Knicks faced him as a Piston and he was an absolute pain in the ass.
That was a toxic af series 🤣
The trick with Harris is to give him a 1-year contract so he plays above his level every season.
The other trick is picking Butler over him
Who needs the process when you can just get Lebron to assemble a super team for you.
You mean to tell me that was not step 89 of the process?
Acquiring a superstar was always part of the plan. It just was supposed to happen 8 years ago and be complemented by our treasure chest of assets that we have stockpiled…
Butler was here but the Colangelo cronies fucked that up too
Yeah the true mark of a super team is 34 year old Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
What’s corny about it? The “super team” was already built before LeBron went there. LeBron going there has literally only brought in KCP lol
if that’s all they were disputing fine, pretty sure they’re saying they’re just not a super team
You would be wrong. The super team was built before anyone followed LeBron, which is why I chose KCP instead of Adem Bona
ight ight my bad
The “super team” can’t be boiled down to just LeBron. There are many key contributors. Mike Muscala. Brad Stevens. Even Paul George deserves a pat on the back, cause none of this happens if he doesn’t essentially outplay Tatum and brown down the stretch of that series
Mike the hero of Philly Muscala.
Tourist comment. Everyone was already there before LeBron joined except old ass KCP.
“Old ass KCP” as if he’s not only one year older than Embiid
Embiid is old
32 in the NBA is not old
Sure if you’re lebron or curry. Otherwise yea
This is 2026. Even aside from the extreme examples like KD Steph and Bron, players are still playing at an elite level well into there 30’s.
This take would be valid if this were 20+ years ago
Embiid might be 32, but his knees are the NBA version of doing a tour in Stalingrad, that shit ages you faster, so in NBA terms, he’s certainly old.
Old enough (for a player of his middling caliber) that he’s certainly not moving the needle from “not a super team” to “super team”.
The process worked.
You guys need to decide whether they’re a super team or second round exit
[removed]
The Prince that was Processed works better
Damn y’all are cooking
Games of Zones missing out on so much good content.
“the process” for the 76ers ended like 8 years ago. They’ve consistently have made the playoffs every year since then outside of 1 injury filled year. Also.. what kind of sports fan just switches teams..fckn hate that shit
I mean he did explain why. James Dolan is a totally valid reason to quit being a Knicks fan
as a suns fan I’ll take James Dolan if it meant I got at least 1 championship 😂.. sometimes you just gotta ride shit out
I don’t think it’s crazy to say there’s nothing wrong with refusing to support something owned by a shitty person.
You can say it’s not that deep but I’d respond by saying it’s not deep enough to care what team people support.
Yeah, teams are not loyal to fans, so why should fans owe blind loyalty to teams? NBA teams will move if taxpayers don’t give them a handout, they’ll trade away loves players to save money, and they’ll jack up prices any way they can to squeeze another dollar out of us.
People treat fandom like they are in an abusive parasocial relationship where they have to blindly stay loyal no matter how shitty the team treats them.
This is well put and applies to a ton of stuff right now.
Can people stop pretending that making the playoffs is some major achievement? More than half the teams make the playoffs. And only the very bottom of the barrel don’t at least make the play-in.
It is a major achievement. The Kings wouldn’t have been celebrating making the playoffs if it wasn’t, and Pat Bev wouldn’t have been crying if it wasn’t. The energy us Hornets fans had in the play-in for the chance to make the playoffs for the first time in ten years shows just how meaningful it actually is. I think it’s even more significant when you’re consistently making the playoffs and competing for a championship. Every run feels like it could be the one.
It’s disingenuous to say that making the playoffs isn’t meaningful just because half the league makes it. At the bottom, there’s a constant shift of teams making the playoffs one year and missing them the next. Just because half the league is there doesn’t mean that same half is going to be there the following year. Some teams will be on their last run, some are trying to establish sustained success, and others are just trying to get there in the first place.
how is this comment getting likes, every team wants to make the playoffs lol
I want to not stab myself in the face. It’s not a huge achievement.
people? do we need to check in with you from now on what we can and can’t be excited about?
You’re using “making the playoffs” as a success measure for “the process.” It’s what happens to almost any team that isn’t tanking.
uhmm.. okay? that’s the whole fucking point right lol.. they tanked which is what the process is.. once they made the playoffs the tank is over.. and guess what.. so was “the process” of tanking. What the fuck are we arguing about ffs 😂😂 I swear people just fucking come on here to arguing non existent points.
Calm down baby
they’ve consistently failed to make it past the second round more like
the process isn’t about winning a championship.. it was a strategy of losing to get top picks in the draft and stack draft capital. Once they became competitive again it was over.
Also, Sam Hinkie was replaced by the league in 2016.
2015*
They traded their best player and a first rounder for Bynum a year before Hinkie even showed up
The only goal is winning a championship lol. It didn’t work.
And how did the previous 30 years of 76ers strategy work out?
They tanked for 5 years to get a dude who forgot how to shoot a basketball, a guy who forgot how to play basketball and Joel Embiid. If they didn’t tank the outcome would be the same but at least the fans didn’t have to endure those travesties of a team
Hinkie was GM for 2 seasons. Now it’s five?
You know the Lakers missed the playoffs 6 years in a row in the same time frame right?
Sorry it was 4 years of tanking. Essentially 4 years without 76ers basketball. Lakers had shit teams for a bit too but at least they were watchable with Kobe.
And the Sixers were watchable until Rod Thorn traded for Bynum. If you’re going to count the 2 years after Hinkie’s departure against him, then you have to blame the first two years against Thorn.
Wolves have made the playoffs 6 out of the last 20 years. They made the WCFs facing an injured nuggets and warriors.
You don’t have much room to speak.
Still made the conference finals.
Congrats, do you want a fourth place medal? Maybe a banner?
No I’m a Celtics fan so I’ll take 18 titles. Still salty about the Brown trade though. But I bet you that Philly has one of its best years in decades this year though.
Yeah and Timberwolves fans would get postseason disappointment now flair the fuck up
Go outside and touch grass.
Go select a team to support on this app lil boy
redditors lol
Redditors calling redditors redditors man I’ve seen it all
Internet is wild man
Theres being on reddit to get news, and theres redditors that are like “flair up bro”, “omg we will save the world by banning twitter from a news aggregator”, “omg we’re gonna save the website by shutting down our subs in protest of a business decision in the middle of the finals”.
Sorry Rob Lowe. Didn’t mean to offend bro
You are a redditor
I’m on reddit to get news. I don’t associate myself with ‘redditors’.
Well you are one
The process was not going to the playoffs.
They drafted Okafor, Simmons and Fultz. Those were part of the process
You hated James Dolan so you joined Josh Harris???
Bruh
This was 2 years ago before the epstein thing. Idk if he still a fan
The Epstein thing is Harris breaking ties with someone who had ties to Epstein. Super irresponsible to word it that way.
Harris just sat next to Howard Lutnick in Boston during the playoffs
I still think had Hinkie had been kept, Ainge wouldn’t have dared to trade with the 76ers, because Hinkie might have considered Tatum, as Hinkie was basically obsessed with drafting height.
And that shows why getting rid of Hinkie was a total farce.
Sam Hinkie should be hired on a one year deal to whatever team wants to tank. Say what you want about Hinkie he was miles ahead of Colangelo
Pablo has them scared!
🎶 and that’s what I’m talking about 🎶
THATS MY GIMMICK
Wow a Sixers fan was feeling frustrated 2 years ago? I guess he wasn’t clever enough to understand it was all a ploy to get Boston to agree to an extremely dumb trade and after that dumb trade, Lebron would look at the roster and sign with Philly for the minimum? Such an idiot.
And because he’s an idiot we should ignore ANYTHING ELSE he finds.
He looks so much more awake now two years later and yet he’s spending his entire waking life Finding Out. Mama there goes that man
The process started 2 years ago? Could have sworn I heard about this like 12 years ago. Wheres fultz and simmons, they ballin out in the finals yet?
Process Hall of Famer Pablo Torre
I’ve always considered The Process to only be dead if either Embiid leaves Philly or retires. He literally gave himself the moniker
So if he gonna keep it alive, I’ll keep saying FUCK THE PROCESS 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
new Yorker but a Sixers fan? no sympathy tbh
I said this before… put Embiid on rehab until the last 15-20 games of the regular season. Have him train and drill all season.
Are we pretending that the Sixers openly and blatantly tanking a decade ago led to LeBron signing with them in 2026?
Trade embiid. He won’t play anyways.
The thing about Pablo is that he either gets it really right or he gets it really wrong, which makes sense because his show is literally called “PT Finds Out”.
I will never forget when he swore he found the key to the entire Epstein files situation. He was watching an old video of a fancy party and this tall guy walks by. The guys is in politics now, but played in the NBA for a few years. I have no clue why, but Pablo swore this guy was the key to everything and had all this crazy information. He tricks the guy into appearing for an interview telling him it’s about basketball and then bombards him with Epstein questions. The guy apparently only knew Epstein in passing and knew nothing about the situation. It was very awkward and came off as bullying a senior citizen after tricking them.
Pablo is the feds
Lmao so now its a success? They havent played a game yet. They havent won shit.
Bomani was right.
Vague posting on Reddit ?
What did he say?
Please stop with giving this 🤡 so much attention
Pablo gives real loser energy. Dude wants fame which is why he won’t let this aspiration thing go… It’s the only reason people check for him😂
Now we know why he is so against Kawhi and has it out for him, he is still mad as hell about that game 7 game winner 😭
Im 50-50 on Pablo.
This Kawhi and Ballmer one is obviously gold.
The Belichick one where he even went to their AirBNB is really corny.
Found Ballmer’s account
Ok Steve Ballmer
Chill out Uncle Dennis
No one gives a fuck about the Orlando magic
I think James Dolan is a step above(or below I guess?) all the other owners in sports terms of public relations and image in my opinion though.
And I should know because I’m a cowboys fan and Jerry Jones is a dick. But Dolan might be hated even more than that. Well at least before the Knicks won the championship. That might have temporarily helped his image
josh harris who was owner of the team he switched to was a prominent epstien associate. there are owners who have made their riches from the mortgage industry. all of them have made billions off of exploitation and horrific labor practices. ranking which asshole is the biggest asshole
I feel you about picking the worst of the evils. I didn’t know Josh Harris was associated with Epstein though. I wouldn’t really be surprised if damn near all of them were in some capacity at this point. Not saying they are but they’re the Epstein class after all
He deliberately broke ties with someone because that person associated with Epstein. These commentators are lazy as hell and does barely any research.
Exactly. People need to learn to stay loyal to their assigned billionaire, no matter what they do. That’s our duty as peasants.
no one is saying to be loyal to them. i am going further and saying they are all morally bankrupt. if your main reason to switch a team is owner based then get ready to be a fan of a team that also has one of the one of the most morally contemptible people in the world.
there’s no “Oh thank god im no longer a fan of a team Matt Ishbia owns anymore (mortgage) - can’t wait to be a fan of a team owned right wing lunatic Miriam Adelson or Tilman Fertitta”
A lot of Mavs fans left after Nico and Adelson torched the house down. Were they fairweather fans?
I agree. Some might be marginally worse, but c’mon, all of them are soulless husks. Some might have better PR, but I think it’s frankly ridiculous to hate James Dolan enough to jump ship and then be fine with basically as terrible of a human being. And I’m not talking about Harris here specifically, but any switch. If you think Dolan is substantially worse than any other owner, I frankly am very confused about your moral standing. Okay, he might be, he might not be. I’d get jumping ship completely because of ownership, but then hopping on board an another ship is just confusing. Maybe the surveillance is the straw that breaks the camel’s back? Weird line to draw amongst everything these guys are up to
Better off not supporting any of them. Which sucks if you like basketball. Thus here we are.
I’m getting a bit disillusioned about the whole league honestly. Not that the owners have changed. I’m just having a harder time caring about the whole league at this point. Here I am still. For now.
Wow finding out he’s a Sixers fan makes me skeptical about his Kawhi investigation results
Unironically there is a disappointing amount of Raptors fans who have been clinging to this as the reason for him investigating this even though by his own admission, Pablo has been looking into the Rhode Island and scoreboard stuff for almost a year
Like I’d be pissed if we didn’t get Kawhi too, I get it but Pablo isn’t the one who made a second, secret endorsement deal and if there’s anyone fans should be mad at…it’s the Clippers
You know, the team that actively tampered to get him 7 years ago
The one that was literally doing so while we were on our way to the Finals
That Clippers team - the one who their rich ass owner who did something similar with DeAndre Jordan
Stop
Hammer Time! (???)
He won a Pulitzer Prize. Come on dude.
This is Pablo Torre’s redemption for the dagger.
SARCASM
The Sixers stupidly signed Paul George away from the Clippers 2 years ago, making it so Pablo might have something against the Clippers
Pretty sure this is sarcasm, people…
