In reality, nothing will happen to Ballmer. He’s got enough money and enough lawyers that the owners and league will be too scared to punish/sanction him.

Balmer obviously funded the operation and thus approved of getting Kawhi money that wouldn’t count against the team salary cap. But I doubt he was the mastermind who came up with any of these schemes. This seems like the work of front office sycophants who thought they could bypass the rules to build a winning club with a limited toolbox of business relationships. If Balmer wanted to give Kawhi $20+ million under the table, there are way cleaner (less traceable, no loose ends) ways to go about it with his resources.
