there are dudes that can jump a tinch bit higher, maybe alil faster, but hes one of the best all around athletes in the NBA, dude got p4p strength and could play in NFL.
Hes like Westbrook, he can do it all game long, unlimited motor, same kind of power dunker too. He also is only guy in NBA ever to lead the league in loose balls recovered + clutch shooting under 5 mins. Dude can miss shots all game then he rarely misses at the end lol. And did that as a rookie, something that was glossed over in ROTY voting. SGA was 2nd in clutch shooting for example.
An Oladipo type trajectory with better 3PT% and without the injuries is my baseline expectation for VJ at this point. He is just too good to not pan out like that
He’s already better than dipo in his prime.
Ok let’s not act like Prime Oladipo wasn’t All-NBA, All-Defensive, and leading the league in steals.
But VJ can definitely be that and more
Na better. He flashed as 1st option at end of year without Maxey. Dropped 35 on fully healthy OKC with Cam Payne as 2nd option. VJ as a top option could put up insane stats on a bad teams cause he’s also an all around , our best passer and prob was best rebounder too sadly.
He more sturdy than Dipo was too.
I said Oladipo is the baseline of what VJ could be. He is an athletic freak and if he develops more on-ball creation, the ceiling is DWade but better from beyond the arc. Sadly I don’t think we’ll see that until he’s like mid-20’s though. Too many chefs in the kitchen right now
Yea alil. I will say VJs one strength and weakness is he’s okay taking a back seat and be a role player. If you force him to be 1 option he’s way better but he’s just a team guy first. He just wants to win but he’s can get passive and accept the role player role even back to college
He’s got mad aura too. Between the wave after the dunk and the wink into the cam, he’s got it all

His defense might be most fun part about him. Watch him lock up Brunson twice in regular season and double block. He looked like a Cat blocking Jalen Green in mid air. He’s not even that big but plays big

Seriously in a vacuum he had a clear rookie of the year type season and there can still be no complaints that he finished a distant third.

They’re cooking something over there but it’s sad he’ll probably have to take a step back in his sophomore season from an individual standpoint. But he’ll still learn a lot from JB and LBJ so all good.

He needs to work on his skills and rely less on his athleticism.
He shot 37% in the restricted area on non-dunks. So when he loses just a little bit of bounce, he doesn’t have the finishing skill he will need.
Crazy that players never get better and he already hit his peak during his rookie season…. smh
