First off; the “media” boogeyman isn’t a monolith — so there’s no way you can ascribe a single opinion to the entire “media.”

Second off; the negative press about JB was predominantly journalists relaying what actual NBA teams thought about him, and how they were lower on him than his box scores might suggest. Even the infamous Bobby Marks “7th best player” thing came from an NBA team source.

So if you wanna be mad at someone: be mad at teams for being low on JB, not the media for reporting that.
