Jaylen Brown: “I’m grateful for my 10 years in Boston”.
He was trying to help build a black Wall Street in the financial district. Dude definitely cared about the city and community
Never seen a player out in the community and genuinely wanting to make connections as much as him. One of a kind
And the media is going out of their way to try and make him look bad it’s so weird.
No offense but wtf are you talking about. He built a juice bar in Seaport.
He’s def too black for some fans, especially the nephews here
What a strange comment
i mean…not really…. players have said things about fans in certain cities like boston.
The downvotes prove this lmao, they don’t even understand what you’re saying here
What does he mean 10 years???
I’m getting too old fast man…
I feel like, with all the crazy shit that happened in the past decade or so, like the pandemic etc, everything just feels so goddamn surreal. Like i got knocked out in 2016 and waking up 10 years later, and everyone’s telling me what happened and I’m having a hard time accepting time just went by like that
Ahh yes, you were one of Thanos 50%
Thanos wiped half of the population for 5 years. Not a decade.
Relax nerd
Valid.
Holy shit I had the same reaction, 10 years!?!?! Riggs im getting too old for this shit….
2017 was 3 years ago right?
Love and miss you so much JB 😢take care of him Philly
One thing I will say is that it’s 100% not on Celtics fans, the disrespect he faced. And it pains me to say it. Brad Steven’s and the media in Boston otoh
How did Brad Stevens disrespect him? They gave him a contract that the majority of league considered a massive overpay at the time, and gave him the keys this past year with Tatum out. Brad had nothing but good things to say about JB in his press conference. It’s not his fault that JBs value simply wasn’t as high as many fans and the media thought.
He’s literally been trying to trade him for years. Dangling him as trade bait for the longest time
He tried to trade him for Kevin Durant and Giannis, 2 all time greats. When Giannis fell through they pivoted, but it’s not Brads fault that the league wasn’t all that interested in JB at his contract.
I think he definitely faced some (undeserved) disrespect from fans over the years. He’s spoken about being called slurs by fans after games multiple times.
I meant in the aftermath mostly I’ve seen you guys upset he was traded but yeah that is true
He also faced a good amount of deserved disrespect for how he acted on streams after losing. The things he said after round 1 this year were just absurd.
Nah all Boston fans ride with Tatum first. JB was always the second fiddle even though he was more like a 1/A/1B. Celtics fans didn’t respect him enough ekther and took him for granted.
It’s way more fun getting to like this guy, instead of hating him.
The compilation from his first stream after getting traded was hilarious (albeit painful🙃). I probably say “sayonara buddy” at least once a day 🤣
You may get to experience the former again
WAS IT REALLY 10 YEARS!??? Holy shit!
About a third of his life, yup.
“I got my degree in Boston, in a sense”
I don’t think he got an actual degree.
I mean that’s literally what he said. “In a sense”
I’m just correcting OP’s subtext
Lmao, one and done at Berkely but basically got his degree in Boston.
I think he meant he basically got a degree in how much he’s gotten to know Boston. I just wanted to correct OP’s subtext
Damn 10 years wtf
JB had way too many thoughts and opinions for the Cs comfort. Unfortunately I think that will continue to be the case on any team he ends up on throughout his career
You’re not wrong. And honestly, it’s not even really a him thing. Theres something to be said about not knowing every single thought that goes through your favorite athletes head.
