If I remember correctly, he holds the record for 18 seasons without any disciplinary action or technical/flagrant fouls. Guy is the player who has the most sportsmanship awards in NBA history. I’ve known about the Conley dunk for some time but I did just learn something new about it today. I thought the ball looked a bit small in his hand so I began watching the full broadcast and lo and behold, at the 12:35 mark the broadcast acknowledges that participants were allowed to use a women’s basketball.
So one way or another, crazy impressive feat by Conley Sr. but if asterisks matter to you, he did use a women’s ball.
Brings me to a interesting question: the major reason MJ and Dr. J was successful with the FT jump was because of their big hands, if they both had smaller hands, would we be calling them less athletic?

This guy was literally an Olympic gold medalist in track and field (triple jump, unsurprisingly). He wasn’t even a NBA player, so I’m not sure what he has to do with the caliber of NBA players in that era.
