[Highlight] Steph destroys CP3’s ankles
I remember it like it was yesterday when CP was still the Point God and Steph was the young upstart trying to dethrone him. Those battles with LAC were so fun
This one and him dribbling through the four defenders and bombing a 3 with Kerr incredulous on the sideline
Jeff Van Gundy: “That’s the greatest move I’ve ever seen!”
…unexaggeratedly.
Dang I want video of this, I don’t remember
Here you go
haha that’s right, thank you. insane
Ha! Never noticed the ref signaling the shot as good when it’s halfway to the hoop! Anyway, this is the exact moment Steph Curry went from being an excellent basketball player to a goddamn wizard.
That’s just how they signal a 3 point attempt
Yep. Scorers know what it is when it goes in. Although it’s Steph so they should just assume they’re all 3’s!
It was the fastest debate of all time. By the time 2015 season started he was embarassing cp3 every time
I think that’s right but part of the reason was that Steph worked out together with CP during the summer for at least one of those early years.
But the change was quite significant, and difficult for CP3. Paul was the best PG since at least ‘08 and the basketball world collectively knew it as well as any large audience could collectively understand anything. Meanwhile, Steph had showed flashes of greatness for a while but hadn’t really put it together (largely because of injuries) until somewhere in the neighborhood of ‘13-‘15.
And Paul and the Rockets nearly took down the Avengers Warriors in 2018 so I’d say he held his own for some time after Steph surpassed him.
Look, I understand where ur coming from.
But just watching them play, at that point, you just knew who the better player was.
Steph was just a better ball player.
cp3 outplayed curry in the houston gsw series. but i mean you dont really play curry 1 on 1 tho. its more like you play vs gsw offense
No
YES! Draymond vs Blake Griffin was even more fun than Steph and CP, though.
Yeah, that was like 2 years ago right? Good times
And he eventually did!
Tbh main reason for that was curry had injury issues the first few seasons.
Stephed on his foot?
Multiple replies saying it doesn’t matter shows how delusional people are. We have eyes no matter what they say you will never convince me he didn’t fall from stepping on Steph’s foot lmao
He clearly stepped on his foot but that doesn’t change anything really. He got out of position enough and off balance enough that he misplaced his foot trying to keep up with Steph. It’s just as embarrassing
It’s not. Just say you’ve never hooped.
Brother.. You get dropped in a game, you get dropped in a game. Simple as that.
You hop up and start talking bout “he didnt drop me, I stepped on his foot” you’re just gonna get clowned even harder for making excuses lmao
Either YOUVE never hooped or you just wanna hate.
Getting tripped and getting dropped aren’t the same thing. You must be a little kid if you think people are gonna clown you for that or that it matters…
If you “crossed” someone by blatantly tripping them like this and acted like you did something, YOU would get clowned relentlessly and/or slapped. Nobody cares because:
The defender is at a massive disadvantage
It takes no skill to trip someone
No legitimate ankle breaker in history has ever involved tripping on another player’s foot
“blatantly tripping” brother whose foot was on the floor first in a natural position? Not Steph’s fault cp3 was off balance and couldn’t find anywhere to put his foot bc he got crossed like crazy lmao
He doesn’t step on his foot until after he’s already slipped and is trying to regain his footing. I thought the same but watching in slow motion it’s clear his ankle were snatched honorably.
He very clearly was already ganna hit the floor. Lost his footing and was already falling down well before he stepped on Steph’s foot.
In anything, Chris should apologize for stepping on his shoes and not falling normally like everyone else that Curry made fall.
If it was Steph that stephed on CP’s foot, it would take away a little bit from the move, but CP was the one that was doing the stepping. Valid ankle breaker
CP3 got soundly beaten, but that’s not a clean ankle breaker
Gotta make a man’s ankles wobble without interference. I say this as someone who once had their ankles snatched 😭
CP3 was already falling and off balance when he stepped on Steph’s foot. If you watch carefully, his right foot slips out from under him and then he steps on Steph’s foot, he was already cooked.
oh wow, you’re right, never noticed that his foot “slips onto” stephs foot
The foot made him hit the floor otherwise he would’ve just hit the woah
Your pun is appreciated. It did not go unnoticed.
Got his feet tangled trying to stay with the move.
nope

CP3 is stumbling before he steps on Steph
what do you mean nah? he fell because he stepped on his foot lol. He literally “stumbles” because he makes contact with his shoe. What are you currysexuals on?
He was just looking to farm and argue. Don’t engage. You are correct the CP stepped on Curry’s foot.
No he’s not.
CP3 was already falling. Stepping on Curry’s foot was inconsequential. He’s was ganna fall regardless. I know the hate is real, but to deny reality is something else.
you do know curry is the most popular player. cp3 is or was disliked by a lot of fans. so when you say hate, i dont think the bias is with cp3 with the ppl in here
On slomo, he already lost balance and his footing and when he tried to regain it by taking another step, he did so on Steph’s foot.
Bro, you smoking crack?
CP3 was already falling. He clearly lost his footing and was literally having his back about to be parallel to the ground WAY before stepping on Steph’s foot.
Is the hate that serious? Curry made tons of people fall without even being close to them or EVEN HAVING THE FUCKING BALL.
Get real.
He’s already losing his balance, idk what to tell you
He stepped on Steph because of that lmao
Idk how bad Curry hurt you in the past, but it’s okay
lol whatever you need to tell yourself i guess
if you cant see the difference between ‘losing your balance’ and ‘falling’ idk what to tell you
he doesn’t actually “stumble” until he makes contact with his foot in the real world, which is why it’s a clip at all. That part is obvious, no?
Stumbling can mean “to trip/fall” or “to walk unsteadily/lose ones balance”. Looks to me like he’s “stumbling” (losing his balance) before stepping on Steph’s foot, then “stumbling” (falling) afterwards.
sad when someone can’t use their eyes or hate someone enough to ignore their senses
Looking up “steph” or “curry” on your profile tells me all I need to know
Broooooo, we all have eyes. Steph can simultaneously be the greatest shooter and one of the greatest players of all time and CP3 also stepped on his foot. Gaslighting a play from 11 years ago this hard ain’t it.
did we watch the same video? you’re clearly biased lmao
You’ve never hooped😂
Because Steph is the greatest 3P shooter of all time, his handles are underrated.
I think it’s cause he’s same generation as Kyrie, causes him to get overlooked
Steph uses his handle to get his shot off, Kyrie uses his handle to get you off balance
Steph is the greatest and most complete PG of all time.
I wanna argue because he’s never been stellar at defense or had insane assist #s but every other PG I can think who MAY be considered a more completely PG of also has holes in their game lol
And his defense isn’t even bad, he held up super well during their 22 chip
exactly, I didn’t say he was bad at defense, just not stellar!
there was a pg who won a ring his rookie year playing 4 different positions…..
Look, Steph is my GOAT player, but I’d have to disagree about him being the most complete PG of all time.
I know people hate Stockton on this sub, but I’d have to give the nod to him. He can shoot, drive, definitely pass, defend, and was also clutch.
CP3 does all those things better
The new 2k has him in the top 3 or something so not too underrated
This was THE torch-passing moment imo. After this there was no longer a shadow of doubt or argument of who the best PG in the league was.
Hate to be that guy but CP3 stepped on his foot, which is why he fell.
I’m not sure how this changes anything. Don’t step on a players foot if you’re so good. Curry still won the possession.
Nope, he was already falling well before he stepped on his foot.
CP3 was hitting the ground no matter how you want to look at it.
You can even look at his left foot instead of the right. His left foot was already on it’s heel practically off the floor before he even steps on Curry’s foot. Mind you, he already lost his footing on his right foot. That’s both feet DONE before he even steps on Curry’s foot
As he begins to touch Steph’s foot, his left foot is already wayyyy in the air, meaning he was already on his way down.
You can MAYBE say not stepping on his foot would have had CP3 fall on his right hand instead of the left since as he falls, his foot gets dragged a little, but that’s a MAYBE and even then he’s still hitting the floor regardless. At that point, you’re just arguing which hand he falls on which is a moot point.
Why ya tryna act like we dont have eyes?
If you a CP3 fan, it’s cool, it happens and Curry made plenty of people fall and CP3 has done it too.
He was falling backwards before the foot step, that just solidified it actually happening pretty much. If he wasn’t stumbling he wouldn’t have kicked his foot out and caught curry’s foot anyways
Thank you. They really try to act like we not looking at the same damn clip lol.
CP3 was clearly falling regardless, no matter how anyone wants to look at it.
“When the hate is not enough, they lie” - Klay Thompson
He also double dribbled. Picked it up when driving the lane
Finally someone says it. Clear double dribble.
Username checks out
You’re 100% happy to be that guy in every aspect of life lol
Edit: hilarious how many folks watch the video and are convinced he only fell because he stepped on Curry’s foot after he had two stumbles right before and was already on his way down
sure buddy
warriors flair what a surprise
If you don’t have any flair you don’t get to check other people with flair.
Flair up beeyotch.
Another warriors fan jumping to the defense of the warriors flair lol
Flair up pussy
Flair up bitch. I mean bitch, coward!
I’d do it to anyone with no flair.
Okay buddy idgaf
gaf enough to reply. 🫡
Flair up bitch. Stop being embarrassed of your team. If you’re gonna call out flairs flair up loser.
Nah
CP3 is already stumbling before their feet make contact
I remember this like it was yesterday lol had every social media page going crazy
Now watch me whip……
This one never gets old
This is not an ankle breaker
Watching Steph’s entire career is just as gratifying as watching MJ’s. He’s one of those rare athletes people will talk in reverence about generations later.
It doesn’t matter that he stepped on his foot. This moment is forever etched in my memory as the arrival of Steph Curry, the superstar. People who didn’t watch basketball were asking me if I’d seen this clip, and, looking back, that was a sign of what was to come for Steph’s career.
Yes, CP3 was already falling and would have fell regardless of stepping on his foot.
Ignore the haters in the comments.
Steph does this thing where it looks like he cradles the ball or bounces it off his leg that always looks like a travel.
This is ankle breaking!
The moment that birthed a thousand memes
I be using this same move at pickup games since
The double behind the back gets em everytime
can’t believe he shot that inefficient mid range shot smh
Cp3 so overrated, never won a damn thing
One of the best
There’s a meme in my feed saying “but what did it cost?” And I read it after the headline and I was like damn cp3 got no rings
They were making so many Whip and NaeNae edits to this clip
The Lob city Clippers to Steph GSW were the Piston to MJ bull, once they beat them, Steph Dub city never look back.
It’s like a smiddy move but going away from the basket, super cool
This was the moment I started paying attention
Is that not a carry? Steph Carry.
He fully carried the ball through the lane, but after that, where he chased his own sloppy dribble, was very cool
nba circle jerk logo
This shit was so vicious. Steph vs CP3 was so one sided it’s not even funny
H2H: 33-26 Curry, including 9-9 in the playoffs.
But it’s a nice narrative I guess.
Steph vs 99% of people
99% of people aren’t also superstars
And? Even the remaining percentage gets smoked, it’s Curry.
Good handles from Steph but Chris stepped on his shoe. Calling it an ankle break is just incorrect. I even watched this game live lol.
Am I the only one that sees the double dribble on his initial drive to the basket?
No I noticed it immediately too. It’s pretty clear he got away with one there. Held the ball to his chest with one hand.
The Curry special
Guess someone is hating on CP today.
I am eternally convinced this man is not as highly rated in dribbling as he should be just because at the same time there is also this guy cheating physics and being just absurd in general called Kyrie Irving.
