[Highlight] 54-year-old Warriors legend Chris Mullin beats Kevin Durant in a 3-point shootout in 2017.
I mean nothing against KD here, Mullin couldn’t miss
One of the best shooters ever and you usually don’t lose your shot that much as you age. No shame for anyone losing to him.
my roommate shoots like mullin in shootouts too
Mullins is a beast people forget he shot 47% from deep in a season back then
I read the dream team book back in the day and in his chapter they mentioned that shortly after entering the league he became an alcoholic. From what I remember, maybe his parents died, but the crazy part was that they brought him out of rehab after not touching a ball for like 6 months and asked him to shoot around and get his feel back.
The dude hit 100 free throws in a row without a miss, after being in rehab for half a year.
He was a born shooter.
There is a current NBA player who is a born shooter as well lol
Ja Morant?
Drfinitely not a 3pt beast lol he just wasnt a volume shooter, just very efficient. There were only 3 seasons he made over 80 threes total. 1 of them he made 107.
I wonder how many he would’ve made if his attempts were higher.
You need to adjust numbers to era context. Larry Bird is considered a 3pt shooting legend and the 2 times he led the league in 3p made, he had 90 and 82.
Shooting too many 3s was even punished by coaches back then, before someone with a calculator realized hitting a 3p at 35-40% rate gave you more points than a 2p at a 45-50% rate.
Dude really googled some numbers to try to refute Chris Mullin.
That’s crazy. In a billion dollar industry, how could so many people be so dumb?
Probably took a while for the league average 3pt% to get to the baseline level, plus you need a ton more people who can shoot them if you wanna build a whole scheme on it
It’s a billion dollar industry NOW, for much of NBA history it was 3rd tier in American sports
Why do people assume more attempts lower your fg%? Especially considering the game now?
Larry Bird only averaged 3 attempts like 3 times in his career…if he had more attempts wouldn’t that mean he would practice 3’s more and each shot wouldn’t be so heavily weighted.
I guess for Mullins sake who might be a beneficiary of the low volume…his percentage would go down a bit but the production of making more shots outweighs that negative effect
Back when fouls were legit fouls.
Couldn’t be further from the intended point of the video but keep being a hater.
So many people love KD despite all the nonsense he’s been spewing. Mullins took 3’s while defenders straight clotheslined him. Check the videos. KD is good, but he could not handle the Detroit Pistons D. The Pistons would punch you in the face and there would be no foul.
You need to watch the defence that got played on 3s then vs now bud. Hitting a 3 in 2026 is a damn sight harder than in 1992
You definitely did not watch 90s basketball lol
Not every game was the bad boys pistons Jordan rules games
Shooters were often left wide ass open around the 3 point line because people didn’t spam 3s back then
OG Dream Teamer for a reason.
My first thought.
He wasn’t on that team because he sucked.
Angola in trouble
Chris Mullin’s jumper looked exactly the same. No wasted motion, just bucket after bucket.
Knowing this sensitive mf this prolly made him want to leave too😭
KD definitely went on Twitter after this.
God damn plumbers
Master Plumber
He is playing like he is in his prime might have been good warm-ups.
Does no one remember how good Mullins’ was from deep? He also looks like he kept in shape as well. Even Dell Curry can still hit shots, these older players may be retired but their fundamentals and muscle memory is just that good.
Assuming you meant Dell lol.
No no, I think Seth can still shoot as well.
What about Tim?
Yep, fixing it now.
Before Run TMC he set the St John’s all time scoring record. Still owns it to this day.
Almost not fair. Mullin couldn’t move in his prime so getting old probably didn’t affect him at all
Flat top Mullins back in the 90’s was a bad man
Mully!
Shouldn’t be a surprise. The shot is always the last thing to go.
Bob Cousy was sinking off-hand free throws in Blue Chips at age 135.
Heck 84yo Bernie Sanders can still shoot

There was an off camera “swish” though did he make it or did they add the sound effect?
You can add your opinion to the Blue Chips Bob Cousy truthers website.
It makes me happy knowing that we’ll get to see Curry shoot threes in exhibitions well into his 60s.
Fireman/plumber vs twitch streamer
Ngl thats cool af
I went to this weird church basketball camp when I was a kid in the 90’s. During one of the “everyone huddled around the coach for a life lesson” session this coach started in on the story of Chris mullin’s drinking problem and how easy it was to fall into addiction if you stray from the light of the lord etc. EXCEPT! In this coach’s version of Chris’s story he was addicted to drinking Coca Cola. I went through my childhood and a large part of my adulthood until I used some critical thinking and looked it up for myself.
Mark Price got next. KD might get that one💯
Nope, I’m taking Price. My guy use to pull up on a fast break and make a three.
That’s another reason why KD left
Mullin really pulled the “I was getting shots up before you were born” card and backed it up. Shooter’s touch ages well.
Anyone who remembers Mullin from his prime shouldnt be surprised by this. His 3 ball was so elite, that he made the dream team.
I kinda wish he would run the gauntlet now for the best Warriors shooter of all time.
Klay next. Then the final boss
He’s right, Philly more of a superteam because KD was on the Warriors and he got beat by a 54 year old with military high top fade ;)
Dreamteamer ain’t no joke.
St. John’s legend his jumper still pure
Here comes more KD tears
So that’s why Durant left for Brooklyn
It’s been so long since I played NBA Live in the late 90s to early 00s that I don’t even remember Chris Mullin being left handed lol
Can somebody explain what’s actually going on in the clip? Why is he counting consecutive shots made?
Fantastic shooting form damn
Maybe it WASN’T a superteam…
“Plumbers”…
This isn’t surprising to anyone who actually watched Mullin. One of the most underrated players of all time. Durant is a better overall scorer but Mullin is as pure of a shooter as some of the best ever.
