Paul George’s elite two-way play in the 3-1 comeback vs Celtics
He needed a 25 game vacation for this
The lesson in all this is to let your older stars take PEDs to recover, and then make sure they get caught for a short suspension just before playoffs start. Embiid should be taking massive amounts of steroids in March to give him the best odds of getting through the playoffs
i think the league does allow HGH which helps a ton with recovery
Thank you Paul! These incredible last few months wouldn’t have happened without you
Even against the Knicks. I know it was a sweep but there were multiple games where PG was insanely hot to start the game and looked really good. It just didn’t last
As a 6ers fan he played really really well in the playoffs. Gonna miss prescription P.
PG’s shot diet is probably 75% tough/guarded jumpers, 15% shots near the basket and only 10% layups/dunks/freethrows.
Some of the shots he’s making here are ridiculous.
PG’s the most frustrating star player I’ve closely followed - he’s so absurdly talented, and incredible skilled, and then he’ll just disappear in a big game, or for 3 games in a row (or 25 games…).
And he doesn’t shit the bed dramatically like James Harden or Chris Paul. He stops playing his game, so you’ll just be like “is PG even out there tonight?” and he’s like 3⁄12 in 35 minutes, just not playing with force and barely participating.
He has a hard time getting to the rim ever since his leg injury. Very skilled, good BBIQ on both ends, good length, etc. but when his jumper is cold I don’t think he has any sauce.
Personally I think it’s as much mental - if he misses a few early or just isn’t feeling it for whatever reason he goes into passive mode. In some ways it’s good he doesn’t turn into a chucker when he’s cold, but it means he’s rarely able to dig himself out of a bad game. That would be good for a role player but he has the talent (and the paycheck) of a superstar so it doesn’t work.
Chris Paul
This happened like 1 time, unless you’re counting injuries for some reason
Yup! But it was an extremely loud, high-impact meltdown, which is what I was talking about.
How often did CP3 “shit the bed dramatically” ?
Not often! But it was very dramatic when it happened!
when the jumper is falling this man is a treat to watch. but when the jumper is NOT falling, he’s useless on offense. kind of a shame
Still a elite wing defender
Celtics had a top 5 defense last year with Tatum out and with Brown falling asleep off ball half the possessions. The Celtics are going to be an absolutely elite defensive team this year
Yall will be better in the RS than last years that’s a guarantee I think. Plus Robinson
Playoffs idk just because JB does his dirty work in the mid range, and that’s good because it diversifies the shot selection so it’s not just 3s or bust.
I mean it’s not really good when he’s making those middies at a 38% clip.
I mean it’s the playoffs shooting 3s only go so far, and yes he did shoot 38% on short middies, but he did shoot 47% on his long middies in the playoffs
I would rather him shoot a middy than a bricked Derrick White 3(who shot 27% from 3 against the Sixers)
27% from 3 is better than 38% from midrange lol.
He attempted more Long middys compared to Short middys(64 to 56) so blending do the two seems to be a better bet. And that’s .84 ppp to D white’s .81
I don’t see the value in hyper focusing on that when 3’s mean long rebounds, gives a level of predictability to your game, and overall is a harder shot in game flow
Because if Jaylen Brown was barely more efficient than Derrick White (who everyone agrees had an awful postseason offensively) while doing literally everything else worse than Derrick White, I don’t see the logic in saying he will be missed. That’s the point.
I’m pretty much repeating there’s a degree of redundancy with JT and PG. JB was their best rim presence and mid range scorer and only efficient paint presence on the team besides PP
Idk what Tatums first step will look like and PG has slowed down tremendously in that area. 3s or bust is one dimensional and presents avenues to getting stopped
Could be very wrong is what it is.
Its always weird when I hear Ryan Ruocco commentating over an nba game, my brain always registers him as the other announcer for the Yankees.
I remember him as the annoying guy with the bad hair transplant that was on the radio with Michael kay and Stephen A
Now do the Knicks series
I can’t tell if he was washed in the Knicks series or they had just given up after game 2. In game 4 it looks like he gave up.
No one was washed or gave up lol they just got beat by a far better team
It’ll be interesting to see how it goes with the Celtics. They’ve dealt with heavy load management before with Horford and Porzingis in order to get the best out of them. Better 3pt shooter, passer, and defender than Jaylen, but obviously not the same level of iso scorer. Gotta stay relatively healthy for it to matter, though
Jaylen Brown is a Sixer 😭😂😂
Excited for LBJ and JB to replace him
Josh Hart had him in Alcatraz aside from the first quarters of games 2 and 3.
Shot 55% from 3 in this series.
