I think about this often. Bynum runs down there after getting dunked on, gets post position and demands the ball. The competitive spirit it takes to play at this level is crazy.

It clearly was more than a typical positioning move. He wanted to let Shaq know he just got one over on him. Shaq gave him a forearm back, they got double techs, and the game resumed. That was a fun NBA moment.

The NBA did not suspend him specifically because they stated the refs should’ve stopped the play much sooner before there had even been a chance to retaliate. That’s how bad it was getting. They essentially said no suspension because he had to eventually stick up for himself since he wasn’t being protected. If you think he’s just supposed to let everybody assault him for the entire playoffs without standing up for himself then we will just have to agree to disagree. Was it excessive? Perhaps. To act like it was unwarranted is just silly though.
